Cordyceps Mushroom

Question: Has anyone tried cordyceps (mushrooms) for energy. does it work?

Answer: Cordyceps is in the class of herbs called adaptogens. These are herbs that help the body adapt to stress. It's not the first herb I recommend for stress and, In fact, I don't use this often. It is used for extreme depletion and chronic illness, also it has been used in kidney diseases. Some other uses are infertility in men and women and male impotence. I believe it's also been used by athletes to increase stamina. If I recall it was used by Chinese Olympic athletes years ago. There are other herbs that may be better for you such as eleuthero, Rhodiola and Schizandra berries. For cordyceps, It's best to use a reputable company. This next bit is not to freak you out but to help you with finding good quality cordyceps. If you don't know already cordyceps is when the fruiting body of a fungus (above ground mushroom) takes over the body of a dead insect and grows out of it (usually the head)...an ant, moth, caterpillar, etc. the mushroom spores get into the insect, the insect dies and the fungus grows out of it.
