Diet Concept
Question: Americans are you familiar with the concept of a controlled calorie diet?
Answer: Americans are familiar with the concept, but are too lazy to do it. Everybody in America just wants to eat what they want to and do what they want to. Filthy bastards, if you ask me.
Question: Beauty should nourish physique with balance diet to remain beautiful. Starvation is bad concept.?
Answer: Eating less calories to remain slim is a bad concept. Balanced diet and balanced exercise is necessary for good physique.
Question: What is the concept of diet mayo? Mayo is basically eggs and oil,
What are diet eggs and diet oil? That doesn't even sound natural.
If people on diets miss the taste of real Mayo, they are not gonna find it in diet mayo.
Answer: ha ha ha ha ha your funny
Question: Is dieting a new concept, was it around say 500 years ago? Just wondering, did the likes of anne bolyen and queen elizabeth the first ever have to diet ect? or is it a completely modern concept to do with vanity?
Answer: Obviously concepts of beauty change over the years but diets themselves are not new. The Ancient Greeks and Romans had very specific ideas of beauty, particularly in the male form and would eat and excercise accordingly. Thinner and more muscular forms were considered more beautiful then. 200 hundred years ago the poet Byron was very obsessed with his figure, and would go through phases of just eating crackers and drinking vinegar to stay slim. Obviously, for women, over the centuries consepts have changed as well, but a small waist has always been considered de rigeur, especially if you were young and on the catch for a husband. After all, there's only so much a corset can do. So they too watched their figures by not over eating; not necessarily dieting though i'm sure they did. In The Magnetic Lady by Ben Johnson, circa 1600's, the young girl is advised to go on a diet because she has suddenly got fat - she's actually pregnant - but that's the advice she is given.
Question: I'm looking for a certain diet that contains pineapple juice and stewed tomatoes.? It is similar to the 3 day diet (same concept) Years ago I was on this diet and have lost the diet plan. Does anyone know what diet I am refering to? And can I get a copy?
Answer: Why not just excersize and eat a well balanced meal? Even if its just walking 30 minutes a day and eating around 1800 calories a day you should see the results you are looking for, fad diets arent good for your health, you may drop weight, but you will gain it back very fast.
Question: What's up with the raw food diet? I am trying to think of moral reasons etc. for such a lifestyle.... Is it just a diet, similar to the concept of going on Jenny Craig (sans cooking and meat)?
I'm just curious.
Thanks
Hmmm, maybe I am missing something. I thought a raw diet had only uncooked foods.
Standard vegans definitely cook their food... and can get lots of calories and fat.
And I suppose I should add that I am not looking to go on a diet; I have just been seeing a lot of "raw" questions lately.
Answer: The idea behind raw foods is all about enzymes. Every living thing contains within it the enzymes to break it down. When we die, cathepsin with digest us. What we call "decomposing" is actually self digestion.
Gross huh? Think about all those sad saps eating "aged" meat. It's so tender. Why? Because it's DECOMPOSED!
Our pancreas creates most of our enzymes. Due to our unhealtthy lifestyles, our pancreas is 3 times the size of a cow's! Now, 90% of our pancreas creates digestive enzymes. 10% of our pancreas creates metabolic enzymes. Those do the repair work on our bodies.
When our diet gets so bad our body has to use that 10% to digest our food, we start falling apart. Disease runs rampant.
Fasting also helps our metabolism since when we fast our body isn't forced to create digestive enzymes.
Cooking food destroys it's enzymes. We're told "Milk does a body good" (well, we aren't told that any more since the dairy council got sued by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine - false advertising...) But in truth, pastuerization destroys anything that was ever good in milk. 300 milligrams of calcium is rendered to only 30 milligrams that is "bioavailable" - which means our body can use it. You get more calcium from 1 fig.
Lots of raw foodists use raw milk and raw cheese products.
I tried doing the raw food thing. While any injury or illness did heal faster, I already have a high metabolism. I couldn't eat enough to keep up. Plus, raw milk and raw cheese still keeps 10 cows enslaved just for me. That's a whole village of folks getting food and water if I go vegan. Better option...
Question: Are Vacuuous Platitudes just brain farts as a result of a heavy mental diet of fatuous concepts?
ah...the vississitudniess of the jocularity is truly inspiring.
i stink therefor i am
or
i am stinking...
hey Neil - a snappy retort in what looks like latin. now there's a fatuous method of communication.
and yes neil it does make me, at least look, clover.
Answer: That is a very insegrevious question. I do not congeviate with you on the ossamonical factor. The presense of multi-thoughts only produce remorsification in the A.M. hours.
Question: Explain how a vegetarian diet might address the shortage of food available for people? "Using the concept of the energy pyramid,
explain how a vegetarian diet might address the shortage of food available for people."
Need help with this biology questionnnn please help haha.
Answer: It will not.
The 'arguments' vegetarianism uses to promote its own propaganda and agenda have no basis in reality and exist solely from extrapolating data completely out of rational context.
Nowhere is this more apparent than the often and widespread fallacy of land use productivity (as per so much area of land can produce so much plant based food yet only so much animal based food): vegetarianism bases these models on the irrational practise of producing grains/soya (not healthy or natural for a human to eat) and then feeding the same grains to grazing animals (not healthy or natural for grazing animals either).
Grazing animals (should) eat grass.
And grass grows back.
These models also fail to specify that only sub-standard grain which would not have made it past standards set for human consumption get used as animal fodder.
Besides as you know, (as per energy pyramids), that even though net energy decreases upwards, the quality of nutrients increases.
Vegetarianism does not have any valid basis in Reality (and neither does it care). Try asking a vegetarian to bring their land-use productivity models back to any meaningful context of Reality, as per above rational farming practise of feeding grazing animals pasture (instead of grains/soya).
They will likely just personally insult you (or change the subject and warble on about something else).
Notwithstanding this, vegetarianism would not solve anything - it would drastically make the situation worse plunging this species and this planet into disaster.
Question: Can you loose weight by eating a diet consisting of purely sugar? I know this is counter-intuitive to what's promoted by most diets- but I was wondering if they body would lose weight rapidly if given only water & sugar. No fat, no nutrients, only sugar. Think like Nerds, Gobstoppers, and Sprees for breakfast, lunch and dinner. (Not chocolate/caramel as it is high in fat.)
I'm not asking if it's healthy.
Correct me if I’m wrong but sugar is usually the culprit of weight gain because one of it's main functions is to convert calories into fat, but what if it were given no calories (that would be beneficial) to store? This is sort of the same concept as an iceberg lettuce diet, except sweeter. Any input dieticians/chemists/experts?
Answer: This diet is mired in faulty science.
Sugar IS calories. Not only are you cutting out protein from your diet, you are also getting 100% of your calories from sugar, which is also one of the fastest energy-releasing carbohydrates. This will actually cause you to store more fat.
Question: outline the concept of a balanced diet?
Answer: Hamburger in each hand
Question: Going vegan from an unhealthy diet? I love steaks and terrible greasy fried foods that are derived from animal products ... i have a terrible lifestyle, consume a lot of alcohol and other chemicals and I'm still very thin. I don't consume a lot of calories - rather my diet mostly consists of smart ones tv dinners and canned soups, and I eat fast food about once a week or once every two weeks. I want to detox my system and start getting healthy, but I think it's going to be hard to go vegan. Mind you, it's not a politically oriented decision because I believe in the concept of the food chain and eating other animals, but I know it's a tremendously healthy diet and I need some tips to help me change my lifestyle. Anyone have any insight?
Answer: Go buy the book Skinny B**ch. It will tell you in a no nonsense way how to convert from awful eating habits to a vegan lifestyle. I am reading it now =)
Question: What would be a good menu for a family of two on a very limited diet and budget? Our diet is restricted because im lactose intolerant and cant have very much gluten (found in breads and such). We also have a very restricted budget. So a lot of fruits are out because theyre expensive. Were not picky...in fact we love veggies and fruits expense is just another concept to fracture in. So if you could possibly give me some simple recipes it would be grately appreciated.
Answer: Lentil and vegetable soup is always a good dish - full of protein from the lentils and all the goodness of the vegetables - and economical, because what isn't eaten can be frozen and reheated later.
Alternatively, things like steak can be economical if it's purchased close to the sell-by date, and frozen for future use in things like stews which, again, can be padded out with potatoes and vegetables.
Question: Vegetarian diet might address the shortage of food? Explain how a vegetarian diet might address the shortage of food available for people?
"Using the concept of the energy pyramid,
explain how a vegetarian diet might address the shortage of food available for people."
Need help with this biology questionnnn please help haha.
Answer: I'm not sure it would. When there are droughts or floods or other weather issues, crops are destroyed.
Question: Why is it so difficult to find someone who shares the same diet? I live in southern california and suprisingly I have a very hard time meeting and dating men who believe in vegetarianism. Most are meat and potato heads and have no concept of the importance of not eating meat. I've been a vegetarian all of my life and I'm very healthy. I just really have a difficult time and would prefer to date someone who shares the same values about our diets..any words?
Answer: Why be such a judgmental person about it? Being veg*n is important to YOU, but that doesn't mean it is important.

Question: What do you think of the "blood type diet"? Has anyone had any experience with this? Did it work for you? I've been reading up on it & it seems to be the diet that makes the most sense, as long as it's not just a bunch of hype. It's an interesting concept.
Kittymoon - I'm borrowing the book from a friend who's sister lost a lot of weight and lowered her blood pressure from the diet.
Newfoundhobbes - Isn't learning how to eat more healthy a GOOD thing?
Answer: You mean "Eat Right for Your Blood Type"? It has some good information, but I don't think it applies to everyone. I agreed with some of it, I disagreed with some of it. Personally, I think you should just enjoy what you eat and do it in moderation :)
