Question: HAs anyone looked over the list of the diet drugs the FDA has banned? http://www.fda.gov/cder/consumerinfo/weight_loss_products.htm
They contained drugs such as seizure meds- Dilantin, Prozac, (we all know what that's for, banned laxatives and diuretics. MAke sure you tell people who buy these pills over the counter knows also. That's pretty dangerous.
Answer: I know someone who took the diet drug Redux about 12 years ago and suffered permanent heart damage as a result. It was later taken off the market for that very reason. It's very "American" to want to take a pill to solve problems. The best way to lose weight is to eat few calories each day than you burn. The simplest things are sometimes the hardest to do, especially for people who are emotional eaters and use food as a coping skill. Look at Oprah Winfrey. She's tried everything but bariatric surgery to stay thin and nothing works. That's because she still carries a lot of emotional baggage from the trauma she suffered as a child, and she turns to food to help her deal with it. The kind of abuse she suffered never heals, and Oprah isn't the type to abuse alcohol or take drugs. Overeating is a very socially acceptable addiction and common when food is abundant like it is here. Two more examples of well-known women who use food to cope with life are Kirstie Alley and Winona Judd. Money cannot buy happiness, and they are proof it can't even buy a size six.

Question: What are some good over the counter diet drugs and how do they work?
I diet and I excersize, but the only way I can loose weight is by taking phentermine. That is the only thing I change and the weight comes right off. But it is so expensive to go to the doc every mounth and then buy $50 in pills. Ah. There's got to be another way.
Answer: Sorry, I don't think you'll find that any of the over-the-counter drugs work like you'd like.
Question: How can I train my body to burn fat more efficiently, without the use of diet drugs?
Answer: All of these answers are correct. The only thing I could add is to dramatically increase your water consumption as well.
Question: Do any of the diet drugs truly work? How do I really know? What do you recommend?
Answer: I used to take stackers, i bought them from a health store. They suppress hunger pangs and boost metabolism. they dont work for everyone. they worked for me for a week or two but after that I stopped losing weight and the extra energy i got from them seemed to stop. its all herbal ingredients and theyre not too expensive. why dont u give them a try, and, if they dont work, you know not to waste your money on them again. :)
Question: How to reduce belly with exercise and diet without using drugs? I am a software professional, now i am getting a belly and want to reduce it through exercise and diet. Please suggest me the diet which will be helpful in reducing the belly. Please suggest me the breakfast, lunch and dinner diet.
Answer: Cut down on you carbs. Don't abandon carbs but like have one portion of carbs with one meal a day and for example only three times a week. Lose the chips eat more baked snacks but don't overdo it.
Eat more Veggies, cut down on sweets (drinks, icecream, etc.) drink more water, carry water with you all the time.
You'd be amazed at how much carbs and sweets bloat us up in our belly.
Move around more - use the stairs (taking it slow at first), walk to places that are nearby -walking briskly - a notch above what you'd normally do increasing as you feel more comfortable.
Question: What is the best way to treat ADD/ADHD Diet or drugs? My son was recently diagnosed with ADD/ADHD a combination of both. After researching the medication his doctor prescribed for him, I decided not to give the medication to to my son. The side effect of the drug could damage his heart in the long run.
Answer: Diet definitely, there are many cases of medication for ADD/ADHD causing other conditions. Drugs don't create a healing environment in the body, natural foods and herbs do. Consult a naturopath and read Patrick Holford. When I was in school there were no kids with ADD or ADHD.
I think it is being over-diagnosed, either out of laziness or to sell drugs. Doctors are given incentives by pharmaceutical companies to sell their products.

Answer: just keep going; keep a journal of what your eating every day.
try eating very few carbs (no pasta, bread, rice, most cereals)- those just get turned to sugar anyways and if you have a constant sugar store your body will never turn to you fat stores.
no red meat.. fast food, sugary things (sugar will make you crave more sugar)
things high is sodium/salt cause you to become bloated and crave more salt..
get that ' best life' diet book for oprah ; its amazing
this was prob not the answer you were looking for but there are no 'safe pills'
Question: "what diet drugs really work?"? What diet drugs really work for weight loss.
Answer: NONE of them really work. Especially if you expect to sit on your a** and continue to eat whatever you want. Diet pills are suppose to give you an extra boost of energy so you can push yourself a little harder during exercise. If that is the case, don't waste your money on diet pills just take Vivarian (caffeine pills) before a work-out and you will get the same results for the fraction of the price. They run about $2. It is better than paying $20 - $100 for pills you have no clue what's in them.
Question: Have you tried changing your childs diet instead of giving drugs? for ADD/ADHD. Even natural food chemicals in so called "healthy foods" can effect behaviour and learning as can preservatives, colours, flavours etc. It's hard work but I feel that some parents go for the easy drug option. I have also read many posts on here saying that they've tried different drugs and they don't work properly, they wear off or behaviour isn't getting much better. Some say their kids turn into quiet zombies etc. Is drugs really the only option?
Answer: A very good question.
Today's children are far removed from nature, and removing them even further is of no help. They are pumped full of cocktails of vaccines, bombarded by mind control from the TV and Media, and usually fed food which has little nutritional value, and considerable toxins.
The best way to remedy this terrible situation is to provide a more natural diet, with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, and by cutting out processed and packaged foods.
the worst thing that can be done is to provide drugs which are just more poisons in their system.
It is unfortunate that the 'health' industry is controlled completely bu the drug manufactures, who provide totally biased information, and positively object to anything natural.

Question: What effects does alcohol, smoking, drugs, a poor Diet + Lack of excercise have on the human body? explain in detail how the factors effect the body and causes ill health.
what are the social conditions that are resulted from each factor.
Answer: Alcohol - liver damage (cirrhosis), mottled skin, hangovers, alcohol poisoning, dehydration.
Smoking - tar gets onto the lungs and make it black, lung/throat cancer, yellow fingernails/complexion, overproduction of mucus by the goblet cells and the cilia are blocked up by ashes, causing build-up of mucus and smoker's cough, more frequent and susceptible to colds, difficulties breathing, out of breath easier, gum disease, bad breath (halitosis), not to mention the trouble that you cause to other people because of passive smoking.
But the good news is that if you quit smoking, then you can get rid of the smoker's cough within weeks and you can decrease your chances of gaining lung cancer as well. Can you tell that I'm very anti-smoking?
Drugs - if you share hypodermic needles, increased chance of contracting HIV/AIDs from dirty needles, not to mention that it screws up your mental health amongst other things.
Poor diet: scurvy, obesity, anorexia, tiredness, out of breath, weak, coronary heart disease, diabetes, etc.
Question: Which has harmed more people's health (or caused death) dieting with diet drugs or bodybuilding with steroids? Which is has harmed more people's health and/or killed more?
Answer: That's easy. Both.
It's been prove that nobody ever die from steroids. EVER! Steroids have been used in medicine since the early 30's, they are in sport since the late 50's. But half millions of American die each year because of tobacco and alcohol. Has for diet drugs? Don't know but all drugs have side effects if abused and use improperly, from steroids to Vitamin C, Ibuprofen...etc.
