Diet Program
Question: How do I continue to stay on my diet program with relatives in town? I'm on a diet - Weight Watchers - and I am freaking out because my relatives are coming over. I do not know how to stay on the program because they really like to eat a lot at restaurants. How do I continue to stay on my program and not gain a lot of weight? I want to lose this week!
Thanks for the answers!
Answer: My mum has had this dilemma for the past 10 years. It really comes down to your own priorities. Do you so badly want to lose the weight you can't think of anything else, or you just trying to slim down to look and feel better? You need to ask yourself what is more important, enjoying good times with your family or fitting into a size smaller jeans. If your weight is not seriously affecting your health (including your mental health), then maybe just enjoy yourself.
Having said that I wouldn't go to the extreme, good meals come and go, how often do you regret NOT eating something more than a day later. The Weight Watchers is a great program from what I've seen, it really gives you knowledge about what you consume and they even give you handy hints about eating out. Use this info, read the menu carefully and look for the healthier options, skip a starter or have an entree for your main. You shouldn't have to suffer because your dieting, just be more aware of what you eat.
Question: How to let go of your unhealthy diet program? I've been making my own diet program and I know it's unhealthy. I only eat once a day around 4pm or 5 pm and most of them are less than 1000 cal and sometimes less than 500 cal. The results was amazing, my waist dropped from 44 inches to 31 inches and it took me only about 3 months. However, it hit me the other day when I knew something wasn't right. It was a mess, it scared the hell out of me. I swear I thought I'm going to get a stroke or major heart-attack. Now, I'm trying to let go of this unhealthy diet and back to being chunky and happy, instead of Skinny and miserable. But, I still can't let go of this diet, I'm so hooked. Whenever I eat a large portion of food I start to feel guilty and the diet card plays again. I'm back to square one. Is there a medication to boost my crave on eating or any tips for me to start eating 5 times a day.
Answer: eep. thats tricky. Im sure this diet has had several negative effects on your body to go along with the weightloss. I would definatly consult your physician. How it sounds to me is that you are kindof stuck on this diet...which isnt good....but you cannot remain on it or eles you will get yourself into a whole other mess. trust me, you dont want to go there. Going back to eating normally can be unhealthy too. Gaining weight back rapidly is bad for your health. If you refeed healthfully, you may not gain as much weight back.
Your doctor should work with you with refeeding. They can help your mind and your body get used to having normal amounts of food in it..kind of like what happens with people with ED's. Hopefully this has helped a bit and hopefully you can get healthy again. Best of luck!!
Question: Is it normal to feel so tired when beginning a diet program? I recently began a diet program and started to exercise but am soooo tired and cant get through the exercise routine. Will this pass and my energy increase?
Answer: You'll probably find it extremely difficult to get slim using a Low Carb Dieting Plan. Low carb diets have recently become popular over the last couple years, but the problem with low carb menus is that they are too strict and TOO HARD TO FOLLOW for average people. Low carb menus tend to rob your body of too much energy (carbohydrates) and make it nearly impossible to remain on the program for very long. This is why so many dieters find it difficult to follow a strict low carbohydrate menu.

Question: What is the best way to loose weight without a Public Diet Program? I don't weigh that much, but I hate wearing tight clothes! I want to feel comfortable with that! I also don't want to see any health specialist/diet program.
Answer: sparkpeople.com

Question: Is there a free diet program or service available that actually works? I have no money to sign up for a diet program (like Weight Watchers or South Beach). Is there a diet program that works that you can do that's free? It would help my waistline and my bottom line. Thx!
Answer: Yes, try Spark People http://www.sparkpeople.com It's a free website. They offer a meal plan, workout plan, goal tracking, journalling, recipes, and support forums. I think it's a great site and it's all free.
Question: I want to try a new diet program, the michael thurmond 6 week body makeover does this program work? This diet program promises you will lose weight based on your body type. I need to know if it worked for anybody else.
Answer: my sister in law used it and lost a bunch of weight. then she gained most of it back because she stopped following the diet. basically, like any diet, it can work if you follow it and incorporate healthy habits into your life for life! if you follow the diet and it works, it has to be something you feel you want to stick with for the long term.
If you haven't already checked it out, maybe also look at the zone diet. it's a way of eating that you can pretty much just always do without feeling deprived. it took me a little while to get in the habits of eating balanced meals and snacks all the time, but my husband and i do it and love it and totally feel the benefits in terms of our health, energy, weight, and it's not hard at all to follow once you get the habit going (it's not at all a deprivation diet)
good luck with whatever you choose, be healthy!

Question: Any tips for someone embarking on a new exercise and diet program? I am really excited about this exercise and diet program I'm going on. I signed up for a personal trainer at the gym (twice a week from now till the end of the summer). It's cost a lot, but she's really smart and this looks promising.
Do you have any tips for staying motivated with a new program (I've done these before and lost interest after a few weeks)?
Answer: Don't punish yourself if you have a cheat day. Don't overtrain yourself thinking you will get faster results. Follow a plan, find something that motivates you and keep it in the front of your mind all the time. Be consistant. Follow advice. research online. Join a message board or group for accountability. Don't be afraid to push yourself. Buy an article of clothing that is not too much smaller than your current size and use that as your goal. When you fit in it comfortably, get something smaller. Don't obsess over the scale. Use clothing as your guide to how you are doing.
Question: Is there an exercise and diet program for a 13 year old girl? I'm 13 and I weigh 135 pounds and am 5 feet tall. I'm overweight and need a diet and exercise program. I play sports and eat all kinds of fruits and veggies. I'm not that fat because alot is muscle but I can't seem to target the fatty areas of my body.
Answer: the exercise program is called just having fun. Get involved in different physical activities that you enjoy and try to be active for at least an hour every day. As for diet just try and do the basics by eating lots of fruit and veges as you said, cut down on processed, fatty or high sugar foods life donuts, chips, chocolate, lollies eg. Try and drink a lot of water and not soft drinks. Make sure you get enough sleep and eat three healthy meals each day. Also you might want to try wholemeal bread instead of white bread as it contains more fibre
Question: Can anyone help me find a good Diet program help? Can anyone give me a good diet and workout program? I want to lose about 25 pounds by summer and I want to do it right so I don't quit and put it all back on. In five months I don't think it's an unrealistic goal is it? Any help is very much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Answer: Hi there,
You should combine diet and exercise for best and fast results. Choose healthy foods you like and replace them with unhealthy ones you eat in a day. Stay away from fat and sugar. Drink lots of water. I can give you a sample diet;
Breakfast: 2 egg whites, a piece of cheese, slices of tomatoes, 3 4 olives, milk or orange juice or green tea
Snack: nuts or fruit
Lunch: Salad
Snack again
Dinner: Grilled chicken or fish, boiled vegetables or salad
Dont forget 5 smaller meals better than 3 big ones.
But I think you should exercise to achieve your goals and permanent weight loss. You dont have to gym. There are good exercise programs that you can do at home easily. And you can support it with walkings and runnings. Wwith exercising your metabolism works faster and burn more calories.

Good luck:)
Question: Is Body for life a diet program or a lifestyle change? I say any program one uses to lose weight is a diet my brother says body for life is a lifestyle change, my thing is its great if it works but I wouldn't go as far to call something like that a lifestyle change I mean going from not being a christian to being a christian that would be a lifestyle change, going from not being in the army to joining the army would be a lifestyle change, Its great if someone can use body for life and become healthier but wouldn't it be considered a diet?
Answer: BODY FOR LIFE IS A LIFESTYLE CHANGE! it takes a lot for people to forsake their crappy eating habits and constant lack of exercise. body for life shows you how to eat right not how to starve yourself this sets it far apart from "diets" as you know them. the book is intended to show you how and when to eat so that you can maintain a healthy body for life not to slim down for a beach vacation or a class reunion. it takes hard work to lead a healthy lifestyle and get that ultra fit body you've always wanted. i know, i'm a personal trainer. i also happen to love this book to death and have seen it completely alter the lives of my clients. a lifestyle change can be defined as any consistent, life long action taken to change ones habits or beliefs. eating is the most important thing you can do for yourself as you need it to live. if you don't eat right or you don't eat period, you run into some pretty life threatening situations. so it can actually be considered a much larger lifestyle change than joining the military or changing your religion, all which are fairly meaningless and completely dependant on EATING.

As far as eating - eat a lot of lean meats (Grilled chicken, turkey etc) salads and plenty of fresh fruit
Question: If I use P90X, will i get results even if I don"t follow the diet program? I am planning on getting the P90X workout program but i don't think i need to go on a diet. I just want to put a little more muscle on.
Answer: Ya man, well its a personal choice, however defined and healthy you want to be depends on your diet but as a challenge, my friend did exactly that, p90 without the diet. He got RIPPED! Beer and chips included! now your results may not be as good as him, but simple answer, YES! stick with it for the 90 days man and you'll be so happy you did.
Question: What diet program has been the best for you? I'm trying to find a diet program, as the structure of diet programs really works out well for me.
What has been the best diet program for you? (ie. South Beach, WW, Jenny Craig)
If it helps Im 5'9 and about 195 pounds, male, and really need to lose some weight.
Thanks!!!
Answer: The best one depends on what you need in a program. For instance, WW offers a plan and support meetings, but you have a lot of flexibility in what you can eat. Nutrisystem has pre-made meals so if you just eat what they send you, you should succeed - no planning on your part but no flexibility either. South Beach is very strict the first couple of weeks - great if that works for you but a lot of people give up. Research the plans and try to pick one that you think would work for you.
You could try on your own. Cut out all fast food, donuts, chips, etc. and eat more veggies and fruits. Then be more active - start walking, work your way up to jogging or going to the gym. Exercise for 30 minutes at least 5 days a week. And don't just sit in your room or on the computer - get out and do some active stuff.
Question: A good diet program for someone who does not like lots of different foods? I don't like fish, and I don't like a lot of things I have seen in the big fad diets. (South Beach , Atkins menus), anyone know of a program with cheap and normal (everyday) food?
One that I can buy things from my supermarket, not prepackaged stuff.
I had a baby recently, and can't lose the last of the weight. I haven't been able to exercise for a long time (after having baby) because I had some trouble with my leg, due to having the baby. I'm looking to lose that last stubborn bit of weight!
I am exercising now, and I don't do sweets or soda.

Question: Has anyone had any success with an anti-yeast diet program? I have been reading that yeast overgrowth can cause a lot of physical ailments. I would like to try an anti-yeast diet program but there are many out there and I don't know which one to try. If anyone could share their experiences, that would be great. Thanks so much!
Answer: 3 things- I would do this - The Phase I Diet (link below) . Also, I would go to the store and buy 2 two products- take" Primal Defense" by Garden of Life (good bacteria -anti fungus and yeast) and "Wild Oil Of Oregano P-73" to kill the fungus, yeast and bacteria that is already existing. They can all be done together with great success. Will go through a peiod of discomfort as the body goes through detox (frequent bathroom visits for 1-2 days, or body may ache). Start small dose and work up if too uncomfortable. Symptoms will start to dissappear quickly. This is temporary. I have used them for a long time. My whole family does. Can't remember the last time we went to the doctor. If you take it, don't stop. It takes time to start working. Be patient.
