Question: Drink...?? I found Drink : A Cultural History of Alcohol By Iain Gately fascinating. Its cool to see how its evolved in our culture. How about you? :) Since nobody can stop talking about drinks around here. I know what "Drink" means, that wasn't my question. I was asking about a book. Although I do find it quite annoying :) It makes me want to ask tons of twilight questions just to piss em off :) Molly, did you really read it? If so, what did you find most interesting? I loved the history on religions and alcochol.

Answer: I love how no one even bothered to read your question. I haven't read it, but I saw it at my library the other day. I might just go pick it up now!

Question: My cat drinks only running tap water.How can I train her to drink from the bowl? My cat likes to drink water from the running faucet. But I've NEVER seen her drink from her water bowls (and I have 2 for her - one next to her food bowl and another one in a corner where she likes to hang out). I'm worried that she doesn't drink enough water. Should I be? Can cats get dehydrated? Does anyone know how I could train her to drink from her bowls?

Answer: Get a Drinkwell water dish. It runs like a faucet. My cats love it! PetsMart carries it. You can also get an extra tank to attach to it. It's really cool.

Question: How can you not drink enough to be tipsy, but drink enough to get sick? I'm a young girl who never drank before college, and even then, I've only drank a couple times. Everytime I drink, I never seem to feel the effects, and yet I feel sick to my stomach every night before going to bed. Sometimes I actually throw up, other times I just lay awake for four hours nervous that I'll throw up. But like I said, my actions don't change, and I don't feel the effects of the alcohol. Could I have some kind of immunity or intolerance? The stuff that I've had to drink is Mikes Hard, Bacardi Watermelon, or other girly drinks. I've thrown up on the Mikes and Bacardi, but then other nights I haven't thrown up on it. I'm having difficulty trying to pinpoint the source of the problem. Any help would be appreciated. (ps) I have never EVER driven while drinking. Nor would I ever. And additionally I have never not drank in a social responsible situation. I would never intend on drinking to get drunk, nor would I drink more than once socially on the weekends. A lot of my friends are 21 so if they're having a drink with dinner, I'll have a drink or with dinner. Please do not think that I am some dumb college kids who wants to abuse alcohol and then endanger others lives. That being said, thank you for the answers thus far.

Answer: Be sure to eat a good, filling dinner before you drink and alternate drinking a glass of water after every drink. If you are getting really sick, it is possible you may have an allergy to alcohol too, so be careful!

Question: How can I drink a lot during the day if my school doesn't allow drinks in the classroom? I need to drink more during the day, but my school doesn't allow food or drinks in the classroom. I can drink after school, but then I just have to go to the bathroom a lot when I am trying to sleep. If I drink a lot in the morning, I have to go to the bathroom a lot during school. What do I do?

Answer: Did you check with your teacher if you can bring water? Because I don't know of any class that won't let you bring water except for maybe a computer or science class. Even if you're sure that you won't be able to drink water ask your teacher anyways because I know some teachers are cool and will let you bring food or drink in anyways. The only other advice I would give is too drink lots during breaks and passing time (eat oranges when you get the chance too if you prefer that because they provide lots of hydration).

Question: What kind of drinks do you drink other than soda? I'm trying to find a daily replacement. I drink some tea, but I don't know if I could drink that all of the time with meals or is there some kind of tea that you suggest drinking? I am American but I'm in the UK a lot for school...

Answer: Good quality water is the best thing to drink. As for tea, black, white or green teas have antioxidants which are good for you. Herbal teas are good if you do not want caffeine and there is a big variety of all kinds including fruit flavors. I love trying all kinds of different teas and I never get tired of drinking them. I usually sweeten with honey or stevia. Everyone really should stay away from refined sugar. I don't think it is good for anyone.

Question: How do you drink your coffee with whipped cream on top? Just wondering, how DO you drink your coffee with whipped cream on top? Do you: ~Mix it into your coffee for it to get a lighter frothier taste? ~Drink the coffee as it is, (risking the whipped cream moustache) ~Eat all the whipped cream and then drink your coffee? Because I've only drank regular coffee without whipped cream, I don't really get the whole idea of putting whipped cream on top of it, but I would like to try it! And by far, Choice number 1 seems reasonable to me. Please tell me other options!

Answer: Mix it! But sometimes i wait and drink the coffee until there is just a little left, then you mix it with the cream so the cream has a slight coffee flavor. I'm totally with you on not knowing why they put whipped cream on top, it's just extra calories. I guess it's for people like me who crave the fat. haha

Question: What drink can help me get rid of a stomach ache? Last Thursday I got drunk for the first time and ever since then I've been getting a stomach ache. Well atleast I think it is. But it's also the time of the month for me. What kind of drink should I drink to help settle my stomach. I don't want to go through school tomorrow with my stomach making really loud noises. I heard either poweraid or gatoraid helps too? Can it?? Ha sorry if I spelled those wrong.

Answer: i have had stomach flu soo many times... stomach pains are kinda hard to get rid of try using: spirit, ginger ale, canada dry, Gatorade, mylanta, or any other stomach drinks.

Question: How do u drink lots of water without going to the toilet a lot? I want to drink 8 glasses of water a day to keep my skin supple. But whenever i try to drink just 3 or 4 glasses, i go to the toilet half an hour later. How can i go to teh toilet less but still drink 8 glasses of water? BTW i dont drink water in one go but at regular intervals.

Answer: use a catheter, if you drink water its got to come out again

Question: What alcoholic drink would be appropriate for a female in her mid 30's to drink at a wedding? I am attending a wedding that is not too formal but not too informal either, however those in attendance are very judgemental. What drink would be acceptable that is not too strong that I could drink a few of, yet not too weak and girlie? I am an average drinker normally.

Answer: first, if your doctor has instructed you to do something and you are not sure about his directions, you can simply call your doctor's office and ask what you should do. It is a simple fix to your problem and that is what they are there for, to help you! good luck :)

Question: is it good to drink monster lo-crab energy drink when you have a low heart rate? i've heard that when you drink energy drinks,t hat it increases your heart rate or something. so would it be bad to drink one if the doctor told you that yorue heart rate was lower than usual?

Answer: it will increase your heart rate, but only for a limited time and if you drink it constantly, or too much, then your blood pressure will increase to above normal and you'll have more trouble than before just stay how you are, as long as you're healthy energy drinks are only useful when you need a boost of energy for a single exercise or moment http://altmedicine.about.com/od/completeazindex/a/energy_drinks.htm or google it, you'll see their disadvantages

Question: How to drink energy drinks behind my parents back? I had a monster a couple times but i got in trouble for drinking it. It is like a drug for me! I need it! Im craving it! My parents wont let me have them so how can i buy them and drink them behind my parents back?

Answer: There isn't an age limit to buy it like cigarettes and alcohol so go to the store and buy it yourself and if you don't want to get caught by your parent's drink it at school and have your friends buy it...personally I wouldn't recommend hiding this from your parent's. Why not talk to them and see if they would let you have like one a day?

Question: What food/drink will shorten your life span and kill you faster? I need some statistics or facts about what food/drink is bad for you. Stuff like for example "Drinking coffee takes 2 years off your lifespan" stuff like that. I want stupid and normal ones. My speech is about how we're so obsessed with what dieticians say and how we shouldn't eat drink certain things because they shorten our life span. Any fact or stats would help sooo much thanks.

Answer: Well i know that fast food will make your blood level really bad....and you will have strokes and attacks in the future, high sugar foods and high calorie foods are the only foods that have a big factor on life shortening that i know of, also beer and alcohol is considered a drink which can kill you

Question: How do you make a virgin drink from a margarita drink mix? I see margarita and other alcoholic drink mixes at the store all the time. I read the instructions on how to prepare the drink and all of them say to add an ounce or two of rum or vodka (duh). I was wondering how you would make a virgin margarita from these drink mixes. Serving the drink mix straight would probably make it really sweet or at least strong since it wouldn’t be “watered down” by the vodka. But on the other hand, vodka (I’m told) is flavorless, so wouldn’t adding an ounce or two of water or club soda give it the same taste?

Answer: I always think the best substitute would be a soda, like gingerale, or even a lemon-lime soda like 7Up. If you are particularly looking to make a margarita, you could just make it a frozen margarita,and by the time you mix the flavoring with all that crushed ice, it would be fine. But if you're looking for something not blended, then I would go for soda, or tonic water at the very least. Not plain water, that's for sure.

Question: how much do I have to drink to be considered DUI? I was just wondering how much do I have to drink before it is .08 I am 21 and weight 140. I have been drinking since 15 so for me to bet really drunk I need to drink at least 12pack of regular 5% ALC beer or half of 750 bottle of vodka. Just let me know, and no I aint planning on driving drunk, just let me know how many do you think.
