Question: Eating healthier!? Does anyone have any suggestions for someone who absolutely hates vegetables and is a very picky eater? The only vegetable I eat is corn, and I can't stand any other vegetables(trust me, I've tried). Any help on what I should do to try to do be healthier? Anybody have any fruit/vegetable recipes or anything to help?
Answer: You can always take supplements for starters. Veggies are good for you no doubt, but if you dont like em, you dont like em. But you can try to mix them in foods like an egg omelet in the morning you can throw some veggies in that or make a souffle with veggies so the veggie flavors mix in. How about even a vegetable lasagna. I know you can also mix these veggies into a blender and make a drink but chances are, you wont care for that too much. In truth, even supplements are not the same as eating the real deal but its something. You could try if your not one for cooking a lot, you can make something in a crock pot like a stew if you have a crock pot that is. Throw the veggies right into that.
Question: any advice on how to start eating healthier? I am trying to start eating healthier. I do wish to lose weight, but I am not looking for a "diet," but more long term lifestyle changes. My biggest problem is that I crave sweets and fatty foods. I don't like a lot of vegetables and/or fruit. I don't drink soda and I only drink 1 cup of coffee a day. I'm at a loss what to do because everything I read about healthy eating is contradictory. Any advice from those who have changed to healthier eating habits? Any serious suggestions from personal experience are appreciated!
Answer: There is ALOT of information about changing to a healthy lifestyle.
As always, eating properly (not the fad diets), and exercising are two of the BEST ways to get on the right track and lose weight. The suggestions above are really good, but may I add taking a supplement/vitamin daily. Not the Wal-Mart or GNC kind, but something that is a total coverage of what your body needs and may not be getting in your regular diet. This will help your body optimize what it does have, and supplement what it's missing. I personally take the Orovo Multi-Vitamin and my husband the Original. We both love it, and he's actually lost a few pounds (I'm actually trying to gain a few... sad I know).
The only thing after that is your coffee. Don't worry, I'm not going to tell you to give it up. But you might want to take a look at Skinny Science Coffee. It's a patented Fat-Burning coffee that is Certified Organic & Fair Trade. It might help give you that extra boost that you need. You can read all about it at http://skinnysciencecoffee.com

Question: How do I get my daughter to start eating healthier? My 6 year old has developed some very unhealthy eating habits (which I am aware is my fault), we have began trying to eat healthier and make better food choices but she is completely defiant throughout the entire process. The only foods she likes are hash browns with gravy, McDonald's, and hot wings; if it is anything else she will flat out refuse to eat. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Answer: Let her know how good healthy food is and how bad unhealthy food is. Get her to want to eat healthy. Show her like a TV show on it or something or tell her how bad food affects her.
Or just get really good tasting food that is also healthy.
Question: Can someone give me ideas on how I can start eating healthier? I'm beginning to be very sensitive to the things that I eat. I've been getting really bad skin infections, so I know that I have to start eating healthier. I wouldn't mind losing some weight either. Do you guys have tips or tricks? Just anything I might need to know to eat healthier?
Answer: 1. drink plenty of water
2. eliminate fast food
3. choose whole grain breads and cereals
4. take multivitamins
5. splurge on vegetables and fruits
6. exercise 2-3 times a week for at least 20 intense minutes
Question: Does eating healthier and excersizing more gurantee you are going to lose weight for sure? I've heard some poeple gaining weight from excersizes that build muscle and some gaining weight because they are eating healthier (becasue they didnt eat before). As for me, I excersize about an 1 hour each day. Not real excersize, just taking a walk. I eat unhealthily. I usually don't eat, and then i pig out like crazy. If i start eating healthier and excersizing more do you think i will be able to lose 20 pounds in 3 months? And also, does eating healthier and excersizing more definetly gurantee that you are going to lose weight?
Answer: Being healthy does not guarentee you are going to lose weight. As you said before, when you work out you gain muscle which weighs more then fat, so naturally when you work out you gain weight. If your not into body building and you just want to lose weight you should join a gym that offers a good aerobic program. You can essentially get the same if you have a swimming pool and you jog more frequently every day.
However, you can gain muscle and lose weight at the same time. I went from 220 in fat to 180 in muscle because I worked out, swam and jogged every day and I only ate two small meals a day. I hope my story has inspired you and good luck.
Question: I am eating healthier than I ever have eaten before and continue to do spin everyday, why am I gaining weight? My meals consist of fruit for breakfast, a sandwich and salad for lunch, and a salad for dinner with a small portion of rice or a roll. I spin everyday except on Sundays and some Fridays. However, since I have been eating healthier, my stomach has been gaining weight, and I do not think it is muscle. It looks like fat and looks like I am pregnant (which I am not). Why is my stomach putting on so much weight?
Answer: I don't see you mentioning bran, red meat and vegetables ! I see carbohydrates in the sandwich and rice...assuming it's white bread including the roll ! No mention of the salad dressing...and that's a killer ! I sincerly believe you believe you are eating healthy but perhaps you need to actually eat more of the other things also!
What about snacks in between....including soada pop....do you do that......all things you have to look at.....but I'll tell you if you want "snackies" then craze on veggies, you can do that all day long !
Enlighten me...what is 'spin" and does make you perspire and burn off calories and exercize the stomach muscles?
BTW...Congrats on trying....commendable ! *S*
Question: Is it normal for irregular periods to become regular with eating healthier? I started eating healthier a few weeks ago and I have always had an irregular cycle. Well, normally my wait time is 5 months or more; it hasn't even been 5 months since I got my last one and I've already got PMS again. Is this normal?
Answer: This has nothing to do with your eating habits. Your inner body clock has started its own rate and you should be glad its happening!

Question: What are some tips on eating healthier? I hurt my knee a little while ago so I can no longer play hockey till the summer.
There goes my physical activity..
I'm trying to go to the gym every second day but it's hard to find time.
And on top of all that I haven't been eating the best either so that really doesn't help..
What are some tips that can help me eat healthier?
Answer: The best thing that any person can do for themselves is to increase the intake of low density, high nutrient foods while reducing the intake of high density, low nutrient foods. Eating healthy doesn't have to be complicated. You don't have to have a PHD to understand that eating raw, whole fruits and vegetables will increase your overall health. Consider the amounts of fruits and vegetables in your diet. You should be eating more of these things then the high density stuff like meats, cheeses, pizza, greasy bar food, deep fried stuff, and fast food. Another tip is to achieve variety. Try a different fruit or vegetable every day. Don't get bored with the same old thing every day. There are many choices of healthy, good tasting fruits and vegetables. You'll also find that eating healthier can be a lot less expensive as well.

Question: How can I ensure I lose fat and not muscle simply by eating healthier? I have lost afew pounds by simply eating healthier, however how do ensure my fat is being used up and not my muscle.
Cant do weight training unfortuantley.
Answer: you really can't, but the medically accepted norm for weight loss, is about 1-2 pounds a week, of a fat loss. Anything above and beyond, maybe muscle, or even water loss. Just go slow, and expect that rate, if you crash diet, then you will just gain it back.
Question: How to get my family eating healthier? I'm worried about my families eating habits. My mum has started buying lots of junk recently and because it is lying around we all pig out on it. How can I convince my mum to stop buying so much junk and to start buying more fruit and vegetables and healthier options??
She won't let me do the family shop. I work 60 hours a week and she goes while im at work. She just tells me not to eat it if I don't like it, but temptation is too great if its lying around.
Answer: do the shopping yourself
Question: When having braces can make the process quicker by eating healthier foods? If this did work by eating healthier foods would the results be better or worse?. Because i'm getting braces soon and i go to college and i dont want people to be put off because of them.
Answer: Eating healthier food means that you will be healthier. It also means that your teeth have less of a chance to be decayed. I had braces as an adult for 2 years. I rarely hate junk food and my teeth look great. Just remember to brush a lot. Don't use the whitening toothpaste either.
