Answer: Anything involving fruits, veggies, or whole grains. I like making a very simple meal: whole wheat pasta tossed with steamed veggies and a little olive oil. Lots of fiber and it's tasty too.

Question: Are there certain foods that contradict the benefits of fiber rich foods? See below...? I'm trying to increase my fiber to help eleviate some constipation issues, but I don't seem to be making any progress... are there foods that are contradicting my efforts? Maybe I should be removing certain things from my diet rather than just trying to increase certain foods.

Answer: Here's why: Fiber is what your digestive system throws away. The way it "promotes regularity" is by filling your colon full of undigested fiber making you "full" and urging a bowel movement. For some people (including me) taking fiber has a negative effect due to the body not allowing enough water to stay in your digestive system, thus turning all that fiber into a brick.
If this happens to you, first you need to increase your water intake if you haven't already. Second, I'd recommend a warm water enema on a regular basis. Once a week is a good start. Take it slow and try to hold it in for a few minutes. It works for me every time.
The reason fiber is promoted so much over enemas is there is a LOT more money in it. Make sense ?

Answer: you're confusing physical hunger with something else...could be underlying irritation or something and you're brain is wired to think that food is going to numb that boredom, irritation (insert negative emotion here) and is tricking you to thinking you're hungry, when in fact, it's not true physical hunger.

Answer: To gain weight in a healthy fashion requires eating calorie dense yet nutritious food. An example of a breakfast while on the weight gain diet includes museli, chopped nuts, a banana, milk and fruit juice. Or you could have 2 egg whites with 1 yolk, 3 slices whole grain toast, and 1 glass of fruit juice. A lunch would involve 2-3 rotis, ½ katori rice, 1 serving of dal or whole pulses, 1 serving of curd or any non vegetarian item, 1 serving of vegetable. You are also allowed snacks spaced mid-way between meals, like tea-time in the evening where you could have a fruit milkshake and perhaps a whole grain cheese sandwich. Eat a sensible dinner similar to what I have suggested for lunch. The key to any meal for weight gain is to concentrate on a sensible blend of complex carbohydrates, lean protein, and healthy fats. When attempting to gain weight, it is often beneficial to eat multiple small meals per day, rather than a few large meals. Especially when coupled with exercise, eating multiple small meals encourages your body to use the calories to build lean tissue (muscle).

add pears with the peel,orange or grapefruit,papaya, and apples,all fresh!
have only real whole wheat bread and cereal-read the label.flax linen seed is good when you add it to yogurt.

Answer: All fruits and vegetables are high in fiber. If you leave the skin of your fruits and veggies, it increases the fiber content. Some fruits are higher in fiber than others...some really good ones are berries (of all kinds), dried fruits like prunes, figs and raisins. Leave the skin on your apples, pears, potatoes, cucumbers, etc.
Whole graisn like oatmeal, quinoa, brown rice, barley, and bran. Try FiberOne cereals. The original bran buds are the best.
Also try different beans. They are not only high in fiber, but protein as well.
If you're on a high fiber diet, make sure to drink plenty of water, or he could become very bloated and constipated.

Answer: Increased fiber- keep's you fuller longer than refined food's with no fiber (protein also does this since it takes awhile for the body to digest)
Fiber also is known to fix up/ help the digestive system but too much fiber can mess up you're digestive system too! So be careful! I'd suggest taking probiotic products instead like yoghurt for that case.
Last benefit known for fiber is increased stool. Make sure you're consuming enough water tho for it to be applicable.
Don't over- go 30g of fiber per day!

Question: Fiber rich diet, do fiber supplements work? I'm trying to get more fiber....but I hate all the recommended fiber foods.

Answer: Yes they do. Also in some cases it raises your good cholesterol (HDL).
Question: Am I getting too much fiber? I recently started taking Fiber Sure, a very good fiber supplement. I consume about 20 grams of fiber a day (fiber sure combined twice a day with fiber-rich foods), but now i feel bloated and gassy all the time. I feel terrible, and fat. Did i increase my fiber intake too quickly ?
Answer: a supplement is only for those times you are getting low to no fiber in your meals. if you eat fiber rich foods, you won't need it. if supper is a hamburger (beef and white bread buns), you will need it. cut back on the fiber sure and start taking probiotics either in yoghurt or capsules. these good bacteria help with digestion and lessen bloat. happy eating!
