Answer: There is a strattera and ginko biloba patch believe it or not. That's a new one to me. Type into yahoo about this. ask your doc too.
Question: Anyone know anything about effectiveness and safety of ginko biloba for memory problems? I'd like to know about ginko biloba for memory problems and concentration. Thanks.
Answer: Yes, it's perfectly safe.
I started using it to help me after I stopped taking an SSRI which completely trashed my memory and ability to think.
I'm now back on track!
Try taking your ginkyo with some Omega 3 fish oils as well.
Question: Anyone know what kind of effects ginko biloba will have on your memory and cognition? Anyone know what kind of effects ginko biloba will have on your memory and cognition? I am just curious, Just bought some i am not sure if it is working or not
Answer: There are lots of vitamins and supplements on the market that can help with memory. The most basic would be a good Vitamin-B Complex, which is pretty cheap and you can find them anywhere. Also, if you're taking a multivitamin, they come with a full assortment of B Vitamins (if you are not already on a multivitamin, that would be a good place to start). Also, fish oils. These can be found in liquid or capsule form. I prefer the capsules as they are easier to take and do not smell. You can find them at health food stores.
Beyond that, you can look into specific individual ingredients like Ginkgo or Ginseng or Vinpocetine. These products can be found on their own at health food stores, or inside 'brain products' or 'mental supplements'. Ask your Doctor for medical advice, not some stranger on Yahoo Answers!
Question: How much ginko should I take to improve blood circulation and memory? How much and how often?
What else improves blood circulation besides EXERCISE and CYANNE?
Answer: The most common dose of Ginkgo that has been shown to help with brain health and memory is 60 mg of a standardized extract (usually with 24% Glycosides and 6% Terpene Lactones listed on the label) taken 1-2 times a day. Some people may need to take a lower dose, but you can try one a day and two a day to see which dose works best for you.
As far as overall circulation, you hit on two of the major ones (exercise and Cayenne), but there's also Fish Oil, Hawthorn Berries, L-Arginine, Garlic, and Niacin. Good luck!
Question: Have you tried the maca supplement or ginko bilbo? Have they worked?
At the moment I am taking maca with the hope it'll stop hair loss and also ginko bilbo because I have water retention in my legs from walking so much.
Answer: I've tried both for different reasons, but I don't believe either of them have either of the benefits you've mentioned.
Maca is a sexual health product that also helps with libido. It doesn't address Testosterone's conversion into DHT or any other impacts of hair loss (although a few other herbs and supplements do).
Ginkgo Biloba is good for brain health (memory, focus, etc) because it increases circulation to the brain. It doesn't help for fluid retention or working with the lymphatic system... but Yellow Sweet Clover does help with that.
I'm sorry if you've gotten inaccurate information about these two herbs, but they do work well for the things that they help with. Good luck!
Question: why does the ginko Biloba tree drop all of its leaves in such a short period of time? Our Science class watched the tree drop its leaves in a matter of hours. How can this be? What causes it?
Answer: so water is not lost through the pores of the leaves. the tree closes the veins in a valve type fashion (>) when there is a water shortage. the water in the leaf goes into the tree, and the leaf falls down
Question: What are some good websites to purchase the best, natural herbs, specifically turmeric and ginko biloba? There are so many websites out there for these products and I don't want to buy something from just a random place. Does anyone have experience buying herbs/vitamins online, specifically turmeric and ginkgo biloba? If you could point me to some great websites that would help me out a lot.
Answer: I think Mountain Rose Herbs have a good selection of high quality organic as well as wild harvested herbs. They sell lose leaves of herbs as well as herbs in powder and capsule forms. But if you're looking for a herbal supplement that contains herbal concentrates, New Chapter is a good choice. Their herbal essences are not isolated, and are not extracted with harmful chemicals such as hexane. One such product from New Chapter is Zyflamend, a popular herbal formula to cool inflammation. Question: Why is Ginko Biloba from Morrisons so much cheaper than Holland & Barrat? This has nothing to do with it being a placebo right? And the Morrison's ones are 60mg and Holland & Barrat are only 30mg!
Answer: I bet the packaging on the H&H ones are real shiny eh?
Just like a coat from Dolce & Gabbana compared to one from Primark; they'll both do the job of keeping you warm, but you'll only be brandishing one of them under your friend's noses.
Question: Is 300 mg Ginko Biloba more effective than 30 mg or is it the other way round? I've been taking 60 mg once a day for the past month, now I am taking 3000 mg. How much difference is there in the effectiveness?
Answer: The more drug, the stronger the effect. 300 milligrams is five times the dose 60 milligrams is, meaning it will be (very roughly) five times as strong. With something as weak as ginko biloba, the difference will still be negligible.
Question: Are the effects of Ginko Biloba on the memory just placebo? I started taking Ginko Biloba as a supplement about a month ago after hearing multiple reports of it being a wonderful memory enhancer, however I have yet to notice any difference and am beginning to wonder if it's just a placebo or if it's effects are just to small to notice?
Answer: You hit the nail on the head when say the effects are too small to notice....
Typically, whats significant statistically, doesn't translate to what people would consider to be a significant difference.
Hope that makes sense
Be well

Question: what will happen if i take 20 capsules of Ginko Biloba within 24 hours. will i feel the effects sexually? this is my deal. im 19 and my sex drive is very bad ive posted on this before about my problem ..
yes i do have have a healthy sex life but latly i cannot even think about sex.
if i take ginko biloba. im tlaking 20 capsules at 500-mg each.
will i feel the sexual energy effect.
Answer: First of all, if your problem is not due to vascular problems then gingko biloba will not do anything at all to help your sexual problems.
Secondly, if you take 10,000 mg of this in 24 hours you are likely to experience vomiting, seizures, and signs of internal bleeding. At this time, it is not known how to best treat an overdose of ginkgo biloba, but treatment may involve administering certain medications, "pumping the stomach," or providing supportive care.
In other words -- a really bad idea.....
Question: Is it harmful to take Ginko Biloba while taking psychotropic medications? Would it cause an individual to feel nauseated?
Answer: No it would not affect it it will probably over power the medications.
And that's because Ginko Biloba is a ALL natural herb. My mother and Father take it. But i suggest to take the herb instead of the medications. Because the herb is all natural and the medications are not.
