Green Tea
Question: Green tea? I heard green tea is good for your metabolism and losing weight...but I find it a little bitter....will adding sugar or honey make the effect of Green tea disappear? or is there another way to make it taste more yummy?
thanks :)
Answer: What I learned from my mom is to put a spoonful of honey and squeeze half a lemon to my green tea to make it taste better. It doesn't totally get rid of the green tea taste, but the honey and lemon make it taste yummy for me ;)
You should try it :)
Question: green tea? I have heard so many things on green tea. I have heard that is is great for your health and it helps you loose weight and exercise and alot of other things. So I am wondering are these things really true? Also what else does this stuff do? It is organic green tea. Thanks!
Answer: I just finished reading the book "The Ultimate Tea Diet" Great book by the way. I have friends that went on the diet, which basically consists of drinking 8-16 cups of tea a day. They ate whatever they wanted and exercised moderately and drank a bunch of tea(doesn't matter what kind) and they all lost weight some more than others, they all feel better(mentally and physically) and I guarantee you they all look better. It takes about 2-3 weeks to notice any significant changes but tea is so healthy for you....regardless of what kind it is, just make sure you don't put milk or sugar in it.

Question: GREEN TEA???????????????????? Should be drinking green tea if im on a dieting and what does green tea do for your body?
Answer: Green tea raises your metabolism (the bodies way of burning calories) by a small amount, around 5%.

It's not just good for losing weight either;
taken from WEBMD;
Green Tea. This beverage deserves a category all its own in any article about foods for healthy skin. The skin-health properties in this beneficial drink just can't be beat.
"It has anti-inflammatory properties, and it's protective to the cell membrane. It may even help prevent or reduce the risk of skin cancer".
Indeed, a study published recently in the Archives of Dermatology shows that whether taken orally or applied to the skin, green tea can reduce the risk of damage from ultraviolet light (such as the burning rays of the sun), and thus reduce the risk of skin cancer.
Heller adds that the polyphenols in green tea have anti-inflammatory properties that may also be beneficial to skin health overall.

Question: How much green tea is actually in a green tea pill? Me & a friend were talking about a current diet she is on & she mentioned her use of green tea pills. Well as a little side quest I've looked up countless articles on the pros & cons of green tea pills & their effect over the body & weight loss. Some also make a comment about how some companies only add trace amounts of green tea but still boast about how much green tea is actually contained in this tiny pill. Now, my question? How much green tea is actually IN these pills?
& How can we tell if theirs actually enough IN the pill to make any difference?
Answer: Green tea is typically used to help to boost the metabolism, but not by much. Yes, its good for you, but to take it alone as a weight loss pill does little to nothing. There is a reason that diet pills always say "use in addition to proper diet and exercise", because its the proper eating and exercise that is really doing the work. Its not going to hurt her so if taking them helps her aid in her weight loss, dont tell her because more than likely, it is psychosomatic.

Question: What brand of green tea to purchase for all the positive effects? I drink green tea regulary but is there a particular brand which contains more of the goodness of green tea or is it all similar?
I live in the UK so I am limited to what they sell in regular stores like tescos.
I know green tea is good for you but would for example Tetleys green tea bags have all these good properties aswell?
Answer: Im pretty sure most of the green tea is similar, and yes - I would believe that the Tetleys tea has the same goodness as the other ones.
Also, if your looking at tea to boost your metabolism - Oolong tea can increase the metabolism by nearly double of what green tea can.
Question: Tazo Green Tips Tea good for you and give the benefits of real green tea? Does TAZO [green tea tips] grean tea reallly help you? Like i know how green tea speeds up your metabolism and stuff but is this rreal green tea or just colored...Also what are some more advantages to greentea/tea drinkers like myself :]]
Answer: as far as I know, there are no tea manufacturers that add food coloring to their tea. The term green tea does not mean the tea will be green. Green is a term used to distinguish the type of tea it is and the level of oxidation that the tea leaves have been subjected to.
Green tea has been shown to prevent some illnesses and boosts your metabolism very slightly. It's also has a relaxing calming effect on your body.
Question: What in Green Tea increases endurance and the ability to recover quickly from sore muscles? I was just wondering what in green tea actually increases your endurance and if that ingredient is foudn in other common foods of drinks, considering that I do not like the taste of green tea no matter what i mix it with. So what i really am lookng for in an answer is what is that substance in green tea that helps endurance and recovery and also what an equivalent to it is.
Answer: For bodybuilders, it offers all of these benefits and more. Green tea's ingredient EGCG actually increases exercise capacity by allowing for greater utilization of fatty acids which server as a source of energy during intense workouts. Additionally, green tea can also lead to weight loss. Green tea consumption results in a 24-hour window of increased respiratory ability, which leads to better oxidation performance of the body.
Question: Is there a way to make green tea taste like the onces sold on the market like C2? There is this product here in the Philippines called C2. And I like it so much that I want to buy it everyday, but my budget wont allow me to buy it everyday. It's a green tea that's like Nestea Ice tea except that this one is green tea. My brother bought green tea from China and I've been drinking it everytime I remember to drink it. What I'm asking is how to make it taste as sweet as Nestea and C2? I tried adding sugar to it but it doesn't taste delicious nor a likable sweet taste. I want to drink green tea but in a way that I enjoy drinking it. Not a way that I force myself to drink it. Thanks for the suggestions! I'm really in need of them. Green tea has antioxidants that I need badly.
Answer: you must heat the sugar, water, and tea together to break the sugar down so that it evenly sweetens the tea

Question: Can green tea give you spots when you first start drinking it? Hi, I just started drinking green tea on Saturday and I've noticed since then that I've started coming out in spots. I am due on so it could also be this but I seem to have more than I would usually get. Is this because of the green tea? Will it get better?
Thanks xXx
Answer: It may be your having a slight reaction to green tea and it's playing havoc with your hormones which are starting to build up and are all over the place at the moment just before you start.
Try drinking it after you have finished when your body has calmed down and see what happens then.
Only thing I can suggest.

Question: What type of green tea cleans out your colon? I've heard that green tea cleans your colon out, and helps flush your system, but what kind of green tea? The bottled kind? Or tea bags? Can you add sugar or cinnamon, or does that make it ineffective? What other foods will help?
Answer: Green tea is no different that any other food. If it is grown in good fertile soil and processed in the proper way, it can be very good for you. The Japanese drink approximately 22 cups of green tea each day. There are a few problems with green tea. It contains lots of fluoride. This depletes the body of iodine. The Japanese people eat lots of sea weed, fish, and sea vegetables that are high in iodine that compensates for this issue. Green tea also contains lots of caffeine. This causes you to have problems with your adrenal glands due to the high cortisol it generates.
The bag green tea, bottled green tea are all radiated or pasteurized and this ruins the biological activity and makes it not that good for you. A good green tea is to find pure green tea that is fresh from a Japanese grocer and then make it fresh.
I have found one company that makes a green tea extract that uses a very unique process of using probiotics to remove the caffeine and fluoride, leaving the concentrated form of the pure ingredients that give you all the benefits. 1 teaspoon of this is equal to about 20 cups of green tea. By mixing pure water with it, you have the best of all worlds. You can purchase this on line at: (800) 370 - 3447. They are in Texas and can ship to you.
Adding sugar to the tea is just not a good thing to do. It doesn't affect the tea itself, but does affect your body. Adding cinnamon can be a benefit to you if the cinnamon is pure.
Green tea in the form I suggest, will help protect you from radiation in the environment and has a very good effect on many organs in the body, but it will NOT clean out your colon.
good luck to you
Question: Does the sugar free iced green tea contain as much caffeine as the hot green tea does? I am talking about the manufactured and processed green tea products such as lipt*n, ar*zona, s*be, etc in contrast to the tea-bag hot green tea.
Do both hot and iced green tea have all the same effect and ingredient including the caffeine and nutrients that green tea leaves normally have, except the temperature of liquid?
Answer: probably not. you probably get more tannins and the good stuff (flavonoids like catechin) from hot green tea cos you leave the tea bag in to steep longer - plus, usually, there's no sugar
canned drinks have sugar and they've found the 'perfect' concentration for flavour and aroma which probably means plonk it in, jiggle and sieve, add sugar, perfumes etc.
Nothing beats the natural stuff.
Question: How do green tea bags reduce undereye puffiness? I recently read that putting soaked green tea bags on the eyes was a good way to reduce undereye puffiness. Does the tea have to be green, though? I thought it was the cooling sensation of the bags rather than their content that was responsible for reducing the puffiness.
Answer: No .. I don't think they have to be green , but green might be better. It helps because of the antioxidants that in the bag.
