Question: What habits do you follow to increase your energy level? I'm curious what habits you all have found to be give yourself more energy. Specifically I'm interested in things related to nutrition, exercise, and sleep patterns.
Answer: I SHOULD get more shut-eye than what I am allowing myself.
On WORKDAYS that I have a schedule, I try to allow myself the required 8 hours sleep time.
As far as EXERCISE, I try to walk as often as I am able which does seem less-and-less time with my hectic scheduling and travel expense.
I have been a life-long Nutritional-fanatic. - I try to eat 3 square meals each day, as I know that the *nutritional value* of foods we get now are maybe only 10%-20% of their original values (stated on a 1960-slate of "Nutritional quality foods.")
Question: Why are the bathing habits of most Europeans so different to the bathing habits of say Canadians or Brazilians? I have friends from Peru and Brazil and they smell wonderful due to the fact that they bathe regularly. The hygiene habits of my European coworkers leave something to be desired I'm afraid.
Why the difference? Are soap and water seen that differently throughout the world?
Answer: I have no idea. I think in the American culture it is just expected that you shower daily. I know I do, often twice daily in the heat of the summer! My mom is from Europe and I learned my hygiene habits from her ;-) However I do know the Europeans are sort of "known" for this--would like to know as well!
Question: How to stop bad habits when you really feel like you hate yourself anyway? Addictive, desctructive bad habits such as overeating or doing drugs, gambling, etc, can make you really feel like cr@p. So how do you turn the habit around when you already hate yourself and don't care what happens to you? What is some advice you can give to someone who doesn't want to hit rock bottom before changing their ways?
Answer: Just live for each day. Choose one thing to focus on and devote your energy to accomplishing the task. This is easy enough at work, but becomes more important to do on the weekend when you have more free time on your hands. Getting rid of a bad habit is really about about replacing that bad behavior with another positive one. No one can tell you what to involve yourself in, but you do have to ensure that anything you choose to do doesn't feed into your self-destructive behaviors. It may hurt to read this, but think about how selfish you are being. Removing yourself from the picture only negatively impacts the people around you, whereas devoting yourself to something other that you would not only save your life, but leave a positive influence on the world around you.
Question: What are the worst bad habits and best good habits you have seen in the answers to philosophy Q's? After citing at least one of each, which habits are most common in your opinion, the bad or the Good ones?
Answer: Best - Have ORIGINAL thoughts which haven't been copy and pasted from wikpedia.
Worst - Using an idea that doesn't even match the question in the first place.

So what are some habits to avoid when texting him?
Thank you for reading.
Answer: 1. Don't text him 24/7, unless he keeps texting back too. Who knows maybe he is a texting freak too? In that case, its a good thing :)
2. Find if he likes normal english or something like: hey, l8ter, c u. You are a big texter, you would know the annoying texting language that some people don't like.
3. Don't be the one who always initiates the texting. Start now and then, sometimes let him start. But DON"T play games, it only causes problems.
4. Say cute things once in a while to get him excited :)
Question: What cheeky habits does your horse have? My mare has the habit of when I ask her to pick up her right front hoof, she will pick up her left one instead and hold it in ther air. So I go to the other side to grab the hoof she has picked up and she puts it down, the cheeky bugger!
It would be fun to know what cheeky habits your horse has?
Answer: We have these undercover yards at my place with a chain latch to keep each horse in. My old pony use to crawl (and i mean almost on his knees) underneath to get out. Hed drop his hindquarters like he was going to sit down then he'd trot off and find his way into the hay shed. I couldn't figure out how he was getting out, so I waited and watched, and sure enough that was how. He was a Halflinger, so very smart!!
Question: What are the habitats and habits of the brown rat? What are the usual and the non-usual habits/habitats of the brown rat?
Answer: The brown rat is found worldwide, with the exception of the polar regions. It can survive in almost any environment, but it is most commonly found near farms, in garbage dumps, and in sewers. It likes dense cover, where it will dig a series of linking burrows in sloping ground in the side of a ditch. It also prefers to live near water and is a good swimmer. The brown rat lives in colonies where every member recognizes each other by smell. There is a social structure in a colony, but the dominant rats are tolerant of others. Where there is plenty of food available, the rat may need to colonize only small areas no more than several yards in length. In large colonies, such as those found sewers and garbage dumps, the highest-ranking rat will live in the choice spot, close to the food source. The low-ranking rats must often struggle to survive.
brown rats can be widespread utilising most habitat types, but they show a preference for wetland habitats.
Question: How do i change my sleeping habits back to normal before school starts? Well, of course over th summer i picked up some odd sleep habits. Going to bed around 3-5 in the mourning, and waking up at 2 in the afternoon. Well school starts in 2weeks. And i really need to get my sleeping schedule back to normal. Any suggestion how to do that..?
Answer: You have the same problem as millions of other teens! My son is in there with you!
Get up earlier in the morning in steps and go to bed earlier in the same increments. Example, tomorrow get up at 10am and keep moving through the day so you will be tired and ready to sleep. Then go to bed at midnight. Work on that for about 5 days. Then bump it up to 8am and go to bed at 10pm. Save the final adjustment for the 5 days before school starts.
Lay off the caffeine in the evening, get some exercise and if a shower relaxes you and makes you sleepy, use that to your advantage also.
Question: How can you change bad eating habits to good ones? I'm an emotional eater and I tend to eat comfort food such as lollies, chips etc. How can you change these habits?
Answer: Simple carbs are addictive & can be disastrous to health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs for 3 days. Make a huge batch of deviled eggs, eat one every time you want "something" - have huge omelets with bacon, sausage, peppers, mushrooms & cheese. Pork chops smothered with peppers, mushrooms & cheese - pork rinds & dip or tuna/chicken/turkey/egg salad - steaks - a huge sugar free cheese cake. Eat so much you won't feel deprived of anything. By the 4th day, the addiction will be gone & you can start making healthy choices.
Question: How do I instill good study habits for college in my daughter who has always breezed through school? She's never really had to study much and has always made good grades. I thought when she got to high school it would be different but she's breezing through it too. I'm afraid when she gets into college she is going to have problems because she hasn't developed good study habits.
Answer: Just because her study habits aren't what you'd like them to be doesn't mean they're bad. I've never had "good" study habits, I still made Dean's list, was an honors student and got my BA in 2.5 years while working at the same time.
Just let her do her thing, if it doesn't work for college she'll find out pretty fast at which point she'll sink or swim, but that's based more on her drive and ambition than study habits. I knew quite a few people who dropped out even though they had "good" habits, some people just can't cut college, its more maturity than anything else.
