Health Supplements
Question: Are Filipino produced/invented health supplements really a boom in the Philippines? Almost all Filipinos that I meet here in US try to sell me health supplements invented and produced by Filipinos. I can't remember the brands, but are usually made of common Filipino fruits or vegetables and they tell me those products are popular in the Phils. Is it true?
Answer: Yes, very true. ABS Bitter Herbs pioneered this genre, and sells more products outside of the Philippines than the already huge sales they have locally.
Even bigger companies have joined the bandwagon, a testament to the success of these health supplements. Pascual Laboratories has lagundi "ASCOF", Splash has "virgin coconut oil", and I think even Unilab has products in this category now.
Question: Does anyone know of a good UK dropshipper that I can use to sell health supplements like creatine etc? I'm looking to sell health supplements on my own auction website and was wondering if anybody knows of a good dropshipper or reseller program that I can use for this please.
Thanks
Answer: As a UK supplements supplier, I would say that you would be better off finding a less saturated market, as you will struggle to make more than a couple of quid profit per week, although you are more likely to make a loss. Also, to obtain a trade account with a supplier, you would need to sell larger amounts, meaning you would have to buy in bulk, with the possibility that items don't sell and go out of date.
It is also very difficult to get trade accounts with supplements manufacturers now (there are many in the UK - i.e. Reflex, CNP, etc.), as most now only set up trade accounts with people who own shops or gyms, or the best websites. Part of the applications usually ask for your company number, VAT number, projected sales, number of employed staff, etc. Saying you just want to sell on Ebay will not get you an account.
If you decide you want to set up your own company with a website selling online, then you need to be aware that even if you buy an e-commerce website template for as little as £99, you will still need to spend around £360 a year on a good hosting package, £100 a year on SSL certificates, £1500+ a year on accountancy/company returns, £1000s on website tweaks, upgrades, payment gateway set-up, etc. and then to get anywhere online in competitive industries, you would need to spend £2000/month on SEO. Not to mention that you would need to work 70 hour weeks and need help from at least 3 people, doing similar hours!!! But, you would need to work full time on a big salary to afford this... so how do you do it? One option would be to save a 25% deposit for all of the above, quit your day job, get a business loan for the rest and go for it! That would be very risky though! Also, you would have to be prepared to learn web design basics (html, css), seo, accountancy, hmrc tax/vat/PAYE requirements, company law, e-commerce regs, ... the list is endless and it results in a lot stress and pressure, although if you find the right market and put the work in consistently for a couple of years, then it it can really pay off. I would say that you have missed the boat with the supplements though unfortunately.
If you are simply trying to get supplements cheaper for yourself and flog some to your mates, to make a bit of profit, then I would suggest you simply make a large order from a website like my own to receive a bigger discount. You are welcome to send me a message using the 'contact us' page of my website, letting me know what products you require and I will get back to you within 48 hours with a discounted price.

Question: What kind of health supplements should I get for my aging cat? I want my cat to live as long as possible, and I'd like to know of any good supplements to keep my cat healthy. She's almost 7 years old, on the small side, and is a completely indoor cat. She's extremely healthy, robust, and playful. I feed her Blue Buffalo Spa Selects, but I may be switching her to a better food.
Any advice is appreciated, thank you!
I don't mean medicine, I mean holistic food supplements, like vitamins.
Answer: At seven, she's just barely middle aged. She's not old. Blue Buffalo is definitely one of the better brands, I think the only way to do better is to go homemade (provided you do the research into how to balance certain nutrients), or raw. Spending the money on good quality food means spending a lot less at the veterinarian later, that's for sure. I'm big on standing around the pet food store, reading labels on cat food until my feet ache and the store clerks wish I'd just go home, but I don't think you need to add anything to this food.
Question: Do you have to be a certain age to buy health supplements from the store? I was just curious, but do you have to be a certain age to be able to buy supplements like omega 3 or a multivitamin from the store? Like Wal*mart or Walgreens or CVS. Okay I'm not curious but I'm 16 and I want to buy some biotin pills, so yeah do I have to be 18 or what?
Answer: A lot of times you do, like ones for weight loss or energy... but for the pure supplements (vitamins) you shouldn't have to be. Wal-Mart hasn't asked me yet when I buy mine.

Question: What are some calming herbal teas/health supplements for calming the mind and relieving stress? I need something natural and healthy as well as safe, something that doesn't contain ginger (makes me jittery, and sick to my stomach).I'm genrerally very emotionally reactive and lately I've been encountering more and more stress and tension than usual. Thanks!
Answer: I was looking for the same thing, I find that lavendar helps. I also looked through the teas at the grocery store and found a Celestial Seasonings one for "sleepytime". It doesn't make me sleep per se, but it IS calming. I can't remember if that's the exact name, but it contains "tilia flower" as a calming agent. And no caffiene, of course :)
Question: How seriously should I take expiry dates on health supplements? I have some Saw Palmetto exp 04/01 and Vit C exp 08/04. Are they safe to consume and do they lose potency with age?
Answer: depends on the drug as to whether it becomes less effective or downright toxic. Play it safe and throw them away. Go to the doctors and get a new prescription or buy them from a pharmacist if they are not prescription drugs.
Question: What kind of health supplements should i take.? I am 20 and just started working out about 2 months ago. Recently i started drinking a protein shake once a day and drinking a creatine fruit punch mix. I eat tuna just about everyday and try to stay away from red meat. MOstly eat turkey, chicken fish and soy. I have been eating protein bars once a day also. I am thinking about NOXPLODE is this stuff worth it?
Answer: Oh boy. Creatine is fine to start with, don't push your morals of what cheating is onto someone else. NOXplode is essentialy creatine, AKG complex, and caffeine. You are already on the creatine, you don't need the arginine, and if you want some caffeine before your workout grab caffeine pills. I don't recommend the caffeine but I could argue it both directions depending on circumstances. Before bed if you are trying to pack on mass, cottage cheese with fish oil and a little bit of fiber. If you hate cottage cheese, take casein with fish oil, and some veggies. The only other essential is a multi-V.
Question: I have alot of extra loose skin after my wieght loss. Can any health supplements help? I lost a big amount of weight in a small amount of time, leaving me with a lot of extra skin. Cuz I don't wanna waste my money on something if it don't work.
Answer: don't do it the best option is to exercise it tightens skin and it costs 0 dollars.
Question: How Many Different Health Supplements Should I Be Taking? Apart from eating spinach, apples and bananas along with smoothie juice, ive got a terrible diet. Just eat junk food cos I cant stand healthy foods. Apart from taking A-Z vitamin tablets, what else should I take? Should I also take cod liver and omega 3 tablets or are these both the same? Thanks
Answer: Keep going with the spinach, apples and bananas along with smoothie juice and lose the useless vitamin tabs.
Question: What are the side effects of health supplements whey protein and creatine capsules?
Answer: None if taken as directed, although some say you need to cycle on and off the creatine. If you take too much, it can be hard on the kidneys.
Question: Are Airborne Effervescent Health Supplements available in Canada? I'm not referring to online availability. I would like to know about retail locations please.
Answer: You DO know they have been proven to be ineffective, don't you?
Question: What Are The Bast/Cheapest Health Supplements? Am away to start taking vitamins, omega 3 capsules etc and some other supplements. What are the best cheapest tablets? Am willing to spend a small amount on decent ones so am not looking for the cheapest if they are rubbish! Is there perhaps some sort of comparison tables? Thanks
Answer: Eat a balanced diet which includes at least your 5 a day and skip the supplements.
