Healthy Immune System
Question: What are the best foods to help you create a healthy immune system? I live alone and stay busy. I dont have much time for cooking. I jog at least 3-4 times a week for 2 miles. Most of my food is from resturants because I find it difficult to keep fresh food here since I am always on the go. However, I want to start new ways to boost my immune system and keep it healthy. What are some good foods for this? What are some more exercising techniques I could fit into my daily schedule as well?
Answer: i suggest yoga. Not only is it a great exercise it also holds many health and immune boosting benefits. As far as diet goes..eat 3-5 fruits and veggies per day...choose lean cuts of meat (avoid red meat as mush as possible), shy away from fried foods and processed sugars...take a multivitamin, and lastly, since I am a woman as well, I drink milk every night with dinner...it seems like a lot, but just start out slow, and you will see the benefits right away
Question: How do I clean my immune system, and keep it healthy? What are the effects of food and drinks? I've head that green tea and pomegranete juice are good for you, what exactly do they do?
what are some other foods or products or supplements that help? What exactly do they do? How do they help?
what are the benefits (long and short term) for having a healthy immune system (i know it keeps you from getting sick easily, but what else)
Answer: It looks like you've already gotten some good feedback about the first two of your questions... on antioxidants and vitamin supplements so I'll address the third of your questions and your main heeding primarly while only adding a commentary in a very short paragraph following the body of my response.
"Cleaning" your immune system is a misconception altogether. The immune system, as you've said, is in place to assist you in the event of contact with an infectious agent - a bacteria or a virus. ("germs" and "bugs" if you like slang terms as much as I do.)
Think of your immune system as a warning system, a personal blood-born history of previous illness, and as a natural defense against invading contagions. In addition, know that your immune system is a dynamic organ... it changes by learning through exposure to disease over the course of your life.
There are essentially two types of immune responses for an exposure to infection ... they usually follow in order. First there is a humeral response (meaning a blood response or fluid response) and second there is a cellular response.
The humeral part of the immune system involves immunoglobulin which are always in circulation through your bloodstream. In the simplest form, these are proteins that firstly identify, secondly attack and thirdly sound the alarm that a "germ" has been identified in your body.
The cellular part of your immune system is of the many lymph nodes throughout your body and of the cell types that they are able to produce. These cells have a concert of different functions that are designed to seek out and destroy infections. A white cell is the most general and commonly used term when speaking of the cellular immune response.
Both the humeral and the cellular portions of the immune system learn by experience - when the system is exposed to a "new" infection, it mounts a defense and it "catalogues" the profile of the infecting agent... thus it can be better prepared if it should meet with the same "bug" at some time in the future. This is what you have always heard of as "being immune' to an illness... i.e. You might have had chicken pox as a child and now you are immune to that particular "bug." We inoculate against some diseases for the benefit of gaining immunity, i.e., we introduce weak strains of a disease to expose the immune system to a "bug" and therefore our system responds by mounting a defense and learning - hence, an immunity results.
I think that at this point you can see that there is no “cleaning” to be done of an immune system… that in fact, it is almost as if getting a new illness is to you benefit - well, let’s not go overboard on that… first, remember, you have to be able to get well from an illness to hopefully become immune to a repeated exposure and second, there is just so much the immune system can do on it’s own… it isn’t perfect, it can be overwhelmed and it can fail altogether…
As said very well by other responders, eat healthy foods, take vitamin supplements, stay well.
Ill refer you to this article for additional reading… there are plenty of others as well.

Happy researching.
In addition to what has already been said:
Your first question is very broad in its scope and requires an understanding of chemistry. You are asking about something that happens on an atomic level when speaking of anti-oxydation. In short it is the prevention of and the distruction of free radicals, ions, in the body - a potentially very tissue distructive chemical change. When asking about food products and suppliments: once again your question is so very broad in it's nature that I refer you a multi-semister-long study on basic nutritional needs to supply the answer satisfactorily.
Good luck.

Question: Why do I keep getting genital warts if I have a healthy immune system? I lead an active life do not smoke or drink at all, rarely get sick work out regularly and eat healthy. I had them laserly removed in january and now one came back, I just don't get it, I'm tired of seeing how it is because I have a weak immune system well obviously this can't be the reason, can someone please tell me why than?
Answer: good for you that you are living healthy but if you have wart outbreak again then that meanst that you do not have strong immune system enough...
if you really want to get rid of genital warts forever then you should know that you can remove genital warts by surgery, freezing, laser, acid or cream but genital warts can reappear again and again because genital warts appears when your immune system is weak!
HPV is the virus that causes genital warts. People can be infected with HPV and never show any symptoms. Others will develop genital warts. These warts can stay the same size, grow, or go away on their own. It largely depends on the infected person's immune system. A healthy immune system means your body may be able to suppress the virus and not show symptoms.
Even after the warts go away, the person will always remain infected with HPV. That person can spread the virus even without showing symptoms.
so you must build up your immune system because your body can get rid of genital warts by itself if your immune system will be strong! so eat more healthy food, more vitamins and more sport activities! (No smoking, no beer/ale, no booze, no drugs, no junk food, no fast food garbage, no sugary sweet soda's. Get on a good, balanced, healthy diet including plenty of boiled or steamed vegetables.
Drink P L E N T Y O F W A T E R , fruit juices & fat free milk. Snack on lots of RAW fruit & veggies. Get up one hour early every morning & take a BRISK 30 minute walk - then - do the same thing again in the evening after dinner. Make sure you eat a good, balanced breakfast daily. You get your energy for the day from your breakfast meal. Get 8 hours sleep each night. Flip your mattress over so it will level out to give you a good night's rest. Slack off too much coffee & tea) also you must use herbal treatment because you can not always live 100% healthy...!!!
in that case Wartrol is really good (probably the best) product that gets rid of genital warts comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that they wont reappear again! It works by stimulating your immune system to fight the HPV virus that causes the warts. of course it is better if you use full course (5 months - if I remember correctly).
It worked and still works for me!
I do not know if any pharmacies carry Wartrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here
http://www.wartrol.com/?aid=221781
The advantage of Wartrol over other natural treatments for genital warts is that, since it is taken orally, it also acts on invisible and internal genital warts that CAN NOT BE treated by other creams and natural remedies.
good luck!

Question: How Can I Maintain A Healthy Immune System? I get sick very easily and I need help maintaining a healthy immune system.
Answer: Try getting more sleep, lowering your stress levels if possible, and eating nutritious foods. You might also try multi-vitamins and try to spend less time around large groups of people.
Question: Oral thrush and a healthy immune system? I have a healthy immune system (went to doctor's to confirm), yet the past 3 times I tried to give oral sex to my boyfriend I get oral thrush within the week. He does not have any symptoms of a yeast infection though. Has anyone ever gotten oral thrush after oral sex? My doctor has no clue why I keep getting it since my immune system should fight it off. I even just had the flu and fought that off perfectly fine.
Answer: Even though your immune system is fine with fighting off bacterial and viral infections, it might not be up fully enough to fight off the fungal infection caused by Candida albicans "yeast infection", in your mouth (thrush). Men won't show signs or symptoms of a yeast infection, but they can carry them on the outer layer of skin on the genital and anal area. They could test your immune system by a blood test, CBC, but I know your doctor already did that probably with the flu diagnosis. You could tell for a possible fungal infection if the eosinophil primarily, and basophil counts are high, or above normal. I would still recommend that your boyfriend get treatment with nystatin ointment on and around his genital area for 2 weeks to kill any yeast that might be present on the external skin even though asymptomatic. If you have a persistent dry mouth "xerostomia", then there isn't enough active immunity in your mouth due to absence of saliva. Saliva carries some antibodies and IGa (immunoglobulin alpha), and helps fight, and prevent bacterial, viral, and fungal infections. Dry mouth could be caused by a wide range of medications, or could be due to genetics. In any case, has your Dr. been treating you with nystatin oral, or fluconazole (Diflucan)? I hope that you find a cause to the thrush infections, and that you don't get anymore.

Question: What and How Many vitamins should i take to maintain a healthy immune system and a healthy body? Im 15 years old, what vitamins should i take. Also how can i improve fiber in my diet?
I usually try to have 1 multi vitamin, 2 500 mg of Vitamin C, 1 calcium tablet w/ vitamin d. How can i put more fiber in your diet, and i dont want to hear eat a healthy balanced diet because thats virtually impossible to afford and to keep up with sports and school.
Answer: If you have a rather bad diet (cafeteria food) then the MOST you should need is 1 multivitamin a WEEK. and then 1000 mg of vitamin C, and one calcium tablet a day.
And that's at utter most here, unless you're training to be a powerlifter or marathon runner.
Question: Is smoking green tea useful for a healthy immune system? i smoke green tea every once in a while at nights, its relaxing and it seems healthy

Drinking green tea is great though. Increases your metabolism.
Question: What can we do to insure we have a healthy immune system? I know there are many ways, but I wonder what would the most accurate be.
Answer: Eat healthy, excercise and take a immune boost vitamin tablet. I am currently on immuno suppresant drugs so it's easy for me to get sick but I take vitamins d and b1 as well as calcium tablets and whenever I get sick I take vitamin c so that I don't stay sick long and it seems to work - as well as this I eat healthy and unfortunately I don't excercise which I probably should.
Question: How long will it take for a healthy immune system to fight off a bacterial infection without using antibiotics?
Answer: Depends greatly on the strand of bacteria, where it's attacking, who it's attacking, etc.
Question: what can boost your immune system? and How can you keep a healthy immune system? What Foods, or drinks are good for that.
Answer: I highly recommend virgin coconut oil, chlorella & spirulina.
Fats are essential to good health. (not including transfats) & supports a strong immune system & helps hormones to function properly. Fat tempers the devastating health effects of carbohydrates. Fat is needed to make the vitamins & minerals in your foods (like calcium & vit.D in milk or alpha and beta carotene and lycopene in vegs) bioavailable so they can be incorporated into the body structure.
The body can not release body fat stores until the bloodstream is clear of insulin. Carbs greater than 9grams per hour trigger insulin. Insulin is the only fat storage hormone. As healthy as fruit may be, fructose the sugar in most fruit is the most lipogenic (fat producing) carb.
from the article posted below:
Another study done a few years ago at Ohio State University showed that salad dressing with oil brings out the best in a salad when compared to no-fat, low-fat dressings.
When the seven test subjects consumed salads with no-fat dressing, the absorption of carotenoids was negligible. When a reduced-fat dressing was used, the added fat led to a higher absorption of alpha and beta carotene and lycopene. But there was substantially more absorption of the healthful compounds when full-fat dressing was used.
Study researchers say they were not only surprised by how much more absorption occurred with fat added to the meal, but they were taken aback at how little the body absorbed when no fats were present. "The fact that so little was absorbed when no fat was there was just amazing to me," says Dr. Clinton.
