Question: Healthy Snack? Does anyone have any suggestions on snacks that I could eat in between meals, I am young and have a fairly high metabolism so I don't have to worry all that much about unhealthy foods, but I would like a healthy snack that I could eat after classes or when I'm hungry.
Answer: I pick from:
Yogurt (maybe low-fat?)
Fruit (low glycemic index fruit like strawberries would be best)
Cottage cheese (maybe with fruit preserves - there's a packaged variety you'll find in almost any grocery store in the US)
Nuts (small fistful)
Trail Mixes
Cheese (1 oz.)
Small Salad (watch the dressing!)
Whole grain bread with peanut-butter (don't overload!)
Small piece of smoked salmon (maybe with cheese or blini)
Roasted tomato with kosher salt sprinkled over it (yum - awesome in the summer with greenhouse tomatoes)
If you're thinking about packaged foods - watch out for those high levels of sodium!

Question: What is a healthy snack to eat at the movies? I'm going to the movies tommorrow. I'm sneaking in a water bottle. What healthy snack can I take with me so I'm not tempted to buy unhealthy food there?
Also, is movie theater popcorn without butter high in calories?
Answer: my favorite movie theater is next to a dean & deluca, so one time i bought a box of blackberries there, snuck it into the movies with me, and ate them instead of popcorn. it was delicious & healthy :]
if you don't like blackberries, try blueberries or raspberries.
Question: What is a good healthy snack food for cold weather? I usually make a simple, healthy smoothie for a snack. But they are so cold, any suggestions for a snack during the cold weather? (not tea or coffee, please, this is more a snack than a drink)
Thankyou!
Answer: Oatmeal; low/no fat latte/cappuccino with some sugar-free cookies; microwaved/oven roasted nuts
Question: What is a healthy snack from the vending machines? What is a healthy snack to buy at a vending machine? What should I look for? At school there is usually cereal, Baked chips, Baked hot cheetos, goldfish flavor blasted, chex mix, rice krispies, famous amos cookies, different snack bars, and a few others etc..
Answer: Usually there are only a few healthy snacks to choose from when buying from a vending machine. Out of what you listed the healthiest would probably be the chex mix or the cereal if it doesn't have tons of sugar in it. If they have granola bars that might be a good option too especially the Nature Valley brand. Also, check and see if they have any of the 100 calorie packs in the vending machine, I have seen more of those going in vending machines lately which is a good way to watch your calorie intake.
But I'd suggest just bring a healthy snack from home. It would be cheaper than buying from a vending machine anyways.
Question: What is a healthy snack I should take to school? HI! I am in fifth grade and we get the option to bring a snack and eat it while we read every day, well I was wondering what is your favorite healthy snack that I should take? :) Thanks!
Answer: aww, i miss the first grade :(, lol. take fruits with you. banana, pear, blueberry. any fruit. or make a salad in a small container and take it with you. for the salad dressing you can mix mustard + honey together (honey mustard), pour it in and stir. it's really good and it's not like the salad dressings you'll buy that probably has a lot of sodium (salt) and other things in it that may not be so healthy. you can get honey for 2-3 dollars and you can get a bottle of mustard for a dollar at the dollar store or about $1.99 at the grocery store. i got mine from the dollar store and it's good. for things to spice up the salad, you can put walnuts, almonds, olives, some kind of cheese, spinach or any green vegetable. you want to make sure you have a lot of colorful fruits and vegetables in it (so fruits and veges of different colours) because the more colourful it is the better it'll be for you because you'll be getting a whole range of nutrients, instead of a few. but whatever you have on hand should still be fine, you're still eating fruits n veges, which's still good! and if you don't have some of these things at home, you don't have to buy them because i know they may be costly, but if you can or your parents can buy them for you, that'll be good. if not, just take whatever you have. or you can make a healthy sandwich. use whole wheat bread, a slice of meat, some lettuce, tomatoes and whatever bread spread you want, maybe a little bit of mayo, or you can mix the honey and mustard (if you have them) and make the honey mustard sauce and use that. good luck at school, face your studies and be good!
take care :)
Question: What is a good healthy snack I can eat during class? I am working on a six pack, what mid morning snack would be healthy to eat and easy for me to carry in my backpack? For example would pretzels, chips or a granola bar be good? What should I look for on the label to know if I should eat it or not? Thanks sooo much I really appreciate it!!
Would raisins be good?
Answer: Nuts, high in protein and have your healthy fats.
Question: What is the best tasty, quick healthy snack? Is there anything that you could eat, say like potato chips but that they are healthy and really tasty. Something quick and convenient. My stomach won't allow me to eat junk food no more and sometimes I get really hungry and need a tasty, quick healthy snack, any suggestions?
Answer: i don't know where you are from, but in the uk we have a food called snack a jacks, they are basically rice cakes but they come in loads of flavour, both sweet and savoury, they are really low fat, sugar and salt. and they cost about the same as a packet of crisps do. try them, they are really nice - if they sell them near you of course. If not, I keep a big bowl of either sliced crunchy veg stcks in my fridge - carrots, peppers, fruits ect... and when i find myself feeling peckish I grab a few and it usually gets me past the hungry stage. keep some low fat cheese spead, like phili nearby, just in case ..... to dunk.....
Question: What is a healthy but tasty snack/meal to eat? Im fed up of looking for a packet of walkers everytime im hungry i want something i will like that is healthy so i dont pile on the pounds! ^^
Could someone suggest a tasty healthier snack thats not chocolate, crisps or stuff.
A proper snack/meal not just an apple. :)
Where here did i say i didnt want veg or fruit? i didnt.
Answer: Just mind the serving sizes, and incorporate snacks into your calorie count for the day. More and more nutritionists are recommending 5-6 small meals a day, rather than 3 big ones and a bedtime snack.
raisins, almonds, berries of any kind, dried cranberries, prunes, All of these can be tossed into a baggie, and carried in a book bag or tote bag
dry roasted peanuts [watch the salt content there]
PB in celery
apples served with caramel sauce or peanut butter, or cheese or peanut butter
cheese of any kind, serving size is one ounce
low fat yogurt with fruit
cottage cheese and canned fruit like peaches or pears.
pretzels
bagel and cream cheese
low fat low sugar cereal and milk, put some berries on it, especially blueberries
raw veggies and ranch dressing
some low fat soup
any fruit, a 1/2 of a small cantaloupe has 30-50 calories
a boiled egg [recommended no more than 6 eggs/week]
low fat ice cream or fruit bar.
cake donut, plain
Question: What would be a yummy, healthy snack that is easy to make? I need to bring in a delicious, healthy snack for health class. But it must be easy---between 1-10 minutes of make time. Nothing that requires a lot of materials please. And includes atleast 2 food groups.
Thanks!
In addition: I would rather go with fruit than veggies because vegetables in China are NOT very healthy. Haha.
