Answer: If you are going to start your own business then the first question you should be asking yourself is what is the demand for that business and what is the market trend and who will your target customers be.
Also do you want a online business or a place where customers can visit, with the economy the wayt it is right now I would a small on line business venture and start with a business that does not require to invest alot of out of pocket money.
The Natural Health Care Business is a good business to invest in according to Independent market research.
,
Why will this business be the next trillion dollars business,
Ever heard of The Baby Boomers Generation,
What is a baby boomer, baby boomers are those babies born between 1946 and 1964 and now are in their mid 40's, 50"s and 60's age group. They also make up the largest group of working Americans and one of their primary concerns is their health.
Baby boomers are dis-satisfied with traditional health care use of prescription medications that cause impotence, low libido and other unpleasant side effects and health risks.
The most telling evidence of the baby boomers dissatisfaction with traditional health care is the $27 billion dollars they spend annually on natural health care product and alternative and complementary medicine.

Question: If you start your own business, how do you go about paying/taking out taxes throughout the year? I was just wondering....how do you take taxes out of your own paycheck? Thinking of starting a business and I don't want to owe thousands of dollars at tax time. I live in NC if that makes a difference...
Answer: You have to pay taxes quarterly. Basically, you look at the income you have each quarter (revenue minus expense) and look up how much tax is owed. Then, you submit a quarterly income tax payment form to the IRS with the check. At the end of the year, you finalize the taxes, and on your tax form record the amount of quarterly checks paid. At the end of the year you either have to pay them the difference, or they have to refund you if you've overpaid. The best way I've found to keep track of this is to purchase QuickBooks, keep records in that program, and then send your accountant your file at the end of each year. It's relatively painless.
Question: How hard is it to start your own business? Is there any business you can do from home? I have always wanted to have my own business. Is there any business me and my husband can start from our own home? We just had our second child and can't afford to buy or rent a building of our own just yet. And NOT babysitting. I have enough kids of my own. I would really like something we can do together. Cooking, crafts, etc. How do you get people or stores to sell your buy/sell your stuff?
Answer: Starting a business is easy, making it successful and profitable, now there lies the rub.
It should be something you do extremely well and there is little or no competition (a niche).
Usually the less it costs to get into, the more other people will try to do it too. You gotta stick out and advertise it well.
Question: How hard is it to start your own business in clothing? With today's economy how difficult would it be to start your own business. With a degree in business/marketing and fashion design how hard would it be to start your own business with me selling my own designs?
Answer: You really need some experience in retail.
Aside from capital and/or credit, you need to learn how to plan inventory.
Be able to plan into one season, peak, decline, and into the next season.
This has to be done for each category of
clothing and by colors.
Think of skirts, tops, jeans, lingerie, etc. Everything that you wear. Shoes are different, so many sizes to stock.
You'll need to know how to create a budget, buying, markup, break even point, and expenses>fixed and discretionary.
That's a tall order without experience.
Of course you'll need wholesale suppliers. Most of those are directly from China, but they may have distribution centers in CA or NY. I don't know now.
Having said that, these are the basics of retail.
Merchandising
Advertising
Organization
Display
An old adage.
The right merchandise, at the right price, at the right time.
Consider this.
You must be aware of all the store closings. I'm not sure that they will all come back.
INTERNET.
This is cutting into all retail stores.
It will become stronger in my opinion.
Accounting can be done by others, but, there is a plethora of software out there, even for inventory control and planning.
Many small businesses have been started and became successful during recessions.
There's always room for a good business.
You can look over this link from SBA and SCORE.

Follow your dream.
Good luck.
Question: How do you start your own Doggy Daycare business? What is needed to start your own business? Do you need to have a license? What prices are appropriate? Any information is appreciated.
Answer: There are no federal license requirements to Open a Dog Daycare. There are however, numerous county and city ordinances, and local governments that do require a dog daycare facility to be licensed. In most cases the license requirements and application are the same as those of a boarding kennel and will require inspections from the health department and local officials on an annual basis. This is to insure that proper sanitation methods are followed so as to eliminate the possibility of spreading infectious diseases from animal to animal. They will also check your records to insure that you maintain up to date vaccination records for the animals participating in services at your facility. The kennel industry can also face inspections by the local health department to check your handling and disposal of solid waste.
Some States require approval by the state board of agriculture as an animal boarding facility and some do not, this is very much a regional issue.
You are going to have to contact your local county or city administration office and review the city and county ordinances specific to your location to determine exactly what the license requirements for a Dog Daycare facility are in your specific area. If you plan on boarding animals overnight then in 90% of the counties and cities you will need to obtain a kennel license. Those that choose to offer grooming services may need to obtain approval by not only your local government but from the state environmental protection agency as well. This is due to the fact that flea and tick shampoos contain pesticides and require specialized disposal procedures as well as specialized plumbing equipment to prevent backwards suction of hazardous chemicals into the city potable water supply.
Your gonna need dog toys, beds, a yard to play in, experience with dogs. (Maybe take a dog training course) Food, treats.
There are books and DVDs that you are able to buy/download with information on how to start a business in dog care. http://www.fabjob.com/DogDaycare.asp
You can also contact a local day care provider and see if they are willing to talk to you about the business, (some people may not talk because its competition).
My dog day care charged me $15 for half day, $20 for full day. Some people charge $30 or a little more. It depends on your location, the demand for a doggy daycare, and the size of the day care and how many dogs you can take in.
This site is the only site I could find that explains it more, without asking to buy their book.

Question: How much money do you need to start your own business? The type of business I am refering to is like opening up your own storage unit or your own convenient store. How do you do it? What kind of assets do you need to start? Who are the best people to talk to?
Answer: you might think about buying a franchise which will cost you depending on the type of business, but anywhere from $2,000 to $25,000+ to begin
if you want to start your own business, decide what you would best like to do in life, something that will make you happy and feel like you "get to do" instead of you "have to do".
the best person to talk to would be a lawyer, because he/she will give you a good idea of what you need to do and what it will cost.

Question: Why do people say the best thing to do is start your own business? I always hear people say employment is like a scam and that the real sucess lies in starting your own business. How can one learn to start their own business? Should I go to school and take business management classes or something?
Answer: Most of the people who take a "business management course " intend to be employed by a big company. They don't usually start their own business.
Being self employed has it good and bad points, such as being able to set your own hours, and deciding things by your self..............BUT it also means that you are going to SINK or SWIM, on your own, too.
Try this............Look around the area where you live, and try to find a small business owner who is willing to talk ( after hours of course ) about how they got started and what they LIKE about their type of business. A second idea is to read up at the local library, about "how to start your own small business ". There are many books on that subject on the market.
I live in Canada, and over the past 40 years I have had a number of small business operations, such as a wholesale lobster dealer, a long distance expedite courier owner operator with my own one ton cargo van, delivering aircraft engine parts to aircraft that were "stuck on the ground " all over Canada and the USA. Paid me three dollars a mile, when I was loaded, and it was not unusual for me to drive two thousand miles from Toronto to western Canada with a 2000 lbs crate in th back of my van in three days. Some months I made more than $12,000 CDN less my costs.
Even being a window cleaner can be a good side line business. Doing ground floor shop windows takes little in the way of equpment, and there is litteraly NO overhead cost, except for white vinegar, rags and a set of rubber squeeges, a water bucket and a extension pole. Most window guys here in Toronto do their rounds on a pedal bike, with a little trailer for their gear behind the bike. Standard rate is 20 dollars for a medium size store with 30 feet of glass windows, more if it is bigger than that. Do 10 jobs in a day and you have about 140 UK pounds for the day. Repeat business is the key, and doing the store windows every two weeks here is normal.
My old Mum used to say that .........."Where there is muck, there is money " and that means that doing dirty jobs that others don't want to do, will make YOU money. Examples, cleaning out houses that are being put up for sale, and also putting up , and taking down the "for sale " signs for the real estate agents, who hate to get their hands dirty. Rubbish removal, scrap metal removal, putting metal wire chimmney caps on to keep raccoons out of the house. Cutting grass and raking leaves for older people, power washing driveways and removing grafitti from private property, which is my current business. I'm busy most days, and I charge what would be 50 UK pounds per hour, to get rid of sprayed grafitti, and to remove chewing gum from sidewalks in front of business locations. My machine cost about 3,500 UK pounds to buy, but it made that much back in the first two months of work. Now my only daily cost is the cleaning solution that I use, which is $60 a gallon, but I cut it 10 to 1 , as it is highly concentrated.
So, try s small sideline venture, to see how you like it. Part time, or week ends at first.

Question: How old do you have to be to start your own business? In New Jersey, how old do you have to be to start your own business?
Answer: In America, there is no set age at which you can start a business. So long as you have funds, you can do as you wish.
Question: How can I safely come out of a bad deal with a start your own business program that I can not afford? Previously to filling for bankruptsy I became involved with one of those "start your own business on line programs". It sounded good and I really need the money. But they just cost me more of what I already do not have and they still want to take money from my bank account when there is no money in there. I tried to cancel with them but they tell me if I cancel that I will have to pay them 200. more that I do not have. I need advise.
Answer: Didn't your bankruptcy cover this?
If not, carefully read the terms and conditions you agreed to when you signed up to see if they are telling the truth. If they are, pay the $200 and get out before they screw up your finances further. If there is no cancellation or termination of contract type fee listed in your terms, they are bluffing to get more money. Call them on it.
Most likely, you will be better off just paying to get out. Also, close the bank account they have your info for.
Question: how to start your own business? How do you start your own business like the legal stuff. All I really need is a resellers license, business license, this is so I can sell on line. Any other help is appreciated thanks!
Answer: You go to your local county/city clerk's office and inquire the process of starting a business -- e.g. business registration and Doing Business As (DBA), resellers license, and other requirements. Check with them what you need and where you can get them
Online, most states provide information on how to start a business in their state. However, you did not mention your state. Alabama has a Starting a Business portal http://www.alabama.gov/portal/business/startbusiness.jsp while Illinois has a Business Step by Step Guide http://business.illinois.gov/step_by_step_guides.cfm
So start with your Secretary of State website. Or your State website (e.g. Alabama.gov). Then find the information on how to start a business -- some states even have business wizards that provides step by step guidance on what you need.

Question: How do the CA courts determine child support when you start your own business? Curious as to how child support is determined if you ave previously been employed full time and child support has been based on that wage. Now have started own business. What is the new calculation based on?
Answer: I'm not sure how California does it but in Virginia your CS would be based on your previous income. If a non custodial takes a job that pays less they are considered "willfully underemployed." Child Support is based on their earning potential not their current income. Actually, since CS is factored, in Virgina, from both parents' incomes, it goes both ways
Question: How to start your own business or company? I have a few ideas that I think would be very successful businesses. But, I have no idea where to start. Question: How do you start your own business.. serious answers please? How do you go about starting your own business about computer programing, fixing, building computers and things of that nature for people. A friend and I want to start something up but i have no idea of what steps to take. Is there a good market and chance it can work out? Please give me as much info as you can please!
Answer: The biggest asset you can have is your reputation. So long as people know that you are a good worker, and first and foremost honest, people will come to you when they need to find people to fix their computer or do some programming. Of course, you need to advertise yourself a little bit, and tell all of your friends to help you spread the word that you're now hanging out your shingle.
The next steps would be ensuring you have enough parts and inventory to build whatever it is you intend to build/repair, etc and make sure you source those well. Don't just look overseas because it's cheap - know who your source is, and what their track record is...you don't want to build something to find out their products are exploding, and you don't even know it's their product you have in your PC (think about that one for a minute...)
Good luck, and when you're ready to move ahead feel free to contact me with any other questions. I've done a similar start-up, not related to PCs, but in the payments industry and have some knowledge of what it takes to be successful.
