Question: How to improve water quality to help the poor ? Hi.I am currently working a project that needs us to come out with ideas to improve water quality.
Hence,i need opinions that are creative and workable to improve water quality that will then improve the quality of people's life too.
Answer: I don't know specifically how to improve water quality, but I do know that if you don't get the people your trying to help to buy into the idea no matter what you try to do won't work. So what plan you enact must include a lot of education.
Question: How can I improve my pitching in baseball? I need control and movement on my fastball; I'm a sophomore playing high school ball and I don't have an overpowering fastball (75-78 mph), so I need to improve my control and improve the movement on my fastball. Any suggestions? Also, do you know of any way I can tweak my delivery to improve velocity?
Answer: Control is practice and consistency of body movement. One fun drill I used to give pitchers is running tape or chalking about a 1inch line from the inside edge of the plate to the third base side of the pitching rubber and the same for the outside edge. It creates a tunnel to the plate and then have the pitchers practice throwing between those lines. It helps seeing the strike zone all the way to the plate.
Ball movement is determined by grip, arm motion and release. I cannot tell how to improve movement without seeing your motion nor can anyone change your mechanics through advice on a website. Some general suggestions for ball movement are, on a fastball a lighter grip will create more tailing action toward a right handed batter (if you are a right handed pitcher) and a tight grip will cause the ball to cut or stay straight. If you want the tailing action (which most kids do) use a two seam fastball grip and throw your normal fastball, with this exception - the ball should feel like it's going to fall out of your hand, your wrist should be completely relaxed and don't try to throw it 75mph just throw about 75% to get the feel. Instead of focusing on your arm throwing the ball focus on your left shoulder turning in and then turning out to create your velocity. You may notice that you initially have trouble getting the ball down in the strike zone, this is usually an indication that your natural motion has been "strong arming" or tensing up every muscle in your arm to throw the ball hard. To bring the ball down you will need to lower and accelerate through a lower release point, you can do this by lowering your elbow slightly (and I mean slightly), making more hip turn (turning your back to the hitter) and pushing off harder with your right leg and taking a longer stride. You need a coach to help with mechanics, I can tell you what I normally see but I can't see you. Video tape yourself as often as possible from all angles and check your mechanics. Getting a visual is the only way to adjust and improve.
Now for speed improvement.....
Throwing, and all movement, starts in your core muscle group.
Your ab, back and pelvis are the center of all motion and your platform for balance. Start strengthening with this core group and extend to exercises that also work your legs - every throw starts from your legs, they need to strong and flexible. Proper throwing motion and range of motion are also extremely important, throwing comes from elastic energy not contraction energy.
Work on the 29 muscles in your core group first. Before I tell you to practice long toss - this is very important to your health, so do not listen to some moron telling you to practice throwing the ball as far as you can. The intent of your long toss is to stretch your throwing muscles not to throw a ball as far as you can. Practice from center field picking up a ground ball in front of you on the run with your momentum going toward home, and make your throws at about 90% velocity. The ball should never go above 8 or 9 feet in the air and should land somewhere around the mound. You are not trying to learn to throw the ball to home plate, you are stretching using a full range of motion. This will cause your core to stretch as you pull the ball further back to throw and choosing a lower target gives you a longer throwing motion or release point. This is not to prove how hard you can throw so resist the temptation to test it. Doing the wrong training will inury your rotator. If you really want to improve and do it healthy, find a physical therapist who specializes in sports medicine or sports injuries. Take him a copy of what I just wrote, ask him to validate it and tell him you want to throw harder and he will design a workout regimine based on your body and strength.

Question: How can you improve the graphics for FS2004 without slowing the computer down? I already know you need a graphics card. Is there a cheap way to improve the graphics? What I mean by improving the graphics is making the image with a smooth texture and not where you can see the pixels. Would you have to have a computer with nearly nothing on it to improve the graphics?
Answer: Well your game probily looks like shit because your computer cant handle it. But in the game go to options and there should be something like display settings. Just play with all the settings in there. But makeing the game look better will slow the game down more. If you have a graphics card and not onboard graphics then you can overclock. Google overclock graphics card.

Answer: Accuracy takes some time to develop but you can do little things to help this. As far as long balls go, stengthening your legs and abbs will help a lot. Do more sit up, leg lifts (lifting you feet 6 inches off the ground while lying on your back), and weights for your legs. For accuracy, start by making sure your accurate with short distances. A good drill I do a lot is placing the ball on the PK spot or 18 and shoot at the posts and see how many times it takes to hit all 3. Once you get that down, start doing it from further away. Try keeping the ball in the air to make it more game like. Another quick and easy drill to do is get a team mate and stand 20 yards or so apart and try to hit the ball to thier chest. Move further apart to increase your accuracy on longer passes. Keep juggling to help you game over all. Hope that helps. Good luck!
Question: How to improve your listening skills in a language? When studying languages, I've found that while it's one thing to learn the grammar rules and construct sentences, read the language, etc, it's still quite more difficult to understand what people are saying in that language.
What are the best ways to improve? I know that the obvious answer is to practice, but what are the most effective ways to improve your listening skills?
Answer: Listening skills are obviously directly dependent on how much of the language you actually know, in addition to experience. Be very careful of the learning method you use. Linguists, and people with vast experience in learning languages will almost always agree on the fact that most language learning methods out there are 50-70 percent fluff! It's pretty easy to get away with telling you that you'll be able to speak a language when for example, someone says "hello", they're speaking English, and it doesn't mean they can actually communicate. Being semi-fluent means you have a functional comprehension of at least 65% in the conventional range of that language, while fluent would be anything greater than 80%. If you don't have the time to learn a language properly, and you're after something quick and easy, then you're probably headed towards disappointment. The best method to getting as far as you can get in the shortest period of time is called the “3 step”. The first step is to complete a FULL Pimsleur (MUST BE PIMSLEUR) course. Listen to each lesson at least 2 times, taking notes the first time with new vocabulary and studying before listening the second time. The 2nd step is to form a list of the 3,000 most common/frequently used words/vocabulary in English, to also include the eight parts of speech (verbs, nouns, pronouns, adverbs, adjectives, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections), which you can search the web for. Once you've formed the list, you need to find accurate generic-translations, which you can apply to most common case scenarios of that language(definatley the most challenging part of all this). Once that's done, make flash cards or whichever method works best for you in memorizing vocabulary, but try to include each word in a sentence, in addition to just the new word and it's meaning. Repetition is the key here, so this would also be a good time to solidify your pronunciation. After you've memorized all that, the 3rd step is to locate 4 movies that are preferably some kind of Disney movie, or anything of a slower pace. Childrens movies seem to work best for this. Watch ONLY these same 4 movies in the language you're trying to learn, with good, quality English subtitles, continuously, to the point where you know what's going to be said next. Try to plan completing each step in this order, exactly as described within a time-frame of about 10-12 months. When you're done, you should be somewhere in the range of “semi-fluency”, at the point where learning after the “3 step” is quick and easy, and being close to fluent after 2 years of using it everyday, and learning at least an additional 100 new vocabulary words a month during that time. The downside to the 3-step method, is that when you're finished, you still may not be grammatically up to par, but will know more than enough to get there easily, which is what makes this the best and most efficient “fast” method, but not necessarily a good substitute for formal education. Either way, it can't hurt to try! Good luck!
Question: How to improve speed and drilling for soccer? So tomorrow I would like to start serious training for soccer.
I want to improve my stamina, endurance, speed, and dribbling for soccer. What exercises should I do and for how long? How long should I run w/o a ball and how long should I do with a ball and how to improve my leg power. I can slow jug for 40 mins and that's it. Should I dribble on grass or cement?
Answer: Change cannot happen overnight therefore I suggest you train as hard as possible.
Set out two cones a certain distance apart and sprint from one to the other making a touchdown at each cone for a set time, continue this each day and you will find yourself getting faster.
Take regular runs each evening and when at training for a time period.
Dribbling is not hard therefore I do not see why you would have to dribble with a ball at your feet for nothing, yet again set out some cones a certain distance between each and dribble in and out of them as this will help your control on the ball.
Depending on which surface you play regular soccer, play on the surface which suits your game.
Take shots at a goalkeeper from a certain distance to better your shot power, maybe go to the gym and get on the excercise bikes too.

Answer: Plyometrics are good but they want help alone. You have to incorporate squats and power clean to build up muscles that are involved in explosion. Other explosive lifts that are helpful are jerk press, step-up, push press.

I can actually type pretty quickly, my family marvels at it.
Answer: Textile exercises are a successful method.One places a bowl of dried beans, another of dried rice, dried macaroni, jello, foam peanuts etc. on the table and then run your fingers through around and over these different textures for several minutes several times a day. A stress hand ball too squeeze is also an effective tool as is typing.
I worked in Home Health rehabing stroke victims and I saw great improvement in them when these methods were employed.

Answer: There are a lot of different sports theories and most that have to do with drilling (repeating over and over again) tend to work. You simply practice the movements you are expected to be doing, over and over again to train muscle memory.
One thing that affects hand-eye coordination is how well your left and right brain hemispheres can communicate. I've heard practicing juggling trains your brain with that.
Question: How do I improve my eyesight without using corrective lenses or surgery? Hey guys, I'm only 19 years of age and I have really bad eyesight. About 1 year and a half ago, both my eyes were -2.50 each and I have astigmatism on top of that. I'm getting fed up with glasses and I just want to get rid of this nuisance. Answer: No sorry. The only way you can stop using corrective lenses is to get laser eye surgery but even that is not totally permanent. If you are fed up with glasses try contact lenses.

Question: How do I improve my serve receive skills in volleyball? I've been a libero for my whole volleyball career. Now I'm a senior returning to varsity, but that is not guaranteed I'll be on the team. I've noticed, especially last year, my serve receives have gotten worse from previous years. My feet won't move. Answer: Whenever you start playing worse than before or if you're in some kind of slump, you may be doing something wrong. It would be great if you can assess yourself, identify the error, and fix it. Otherwise, just go back to basics and see if you're using all the proper posture, forms, and techniques.
If you're having problems with passing, there can be many causes such as poor eye-hand coodination, improper posture, bad contact point, uneven passing arms platform or even poor eye vision.
If reaction time is your issue, below are some tips:
1) When you're waiting for the serve, stand on your forefeet and lean slightly foreward.
2) Keep your arms up and out infront of you.
3) Focus and keep your eyes locked on the ball when the server is holding the ball to serve it up and don't lose it.
4) Perform PLYOMETRIC training regularly. It's the best way to improve your feet speed and agility.
