Question: kids??????? make a list that tells what happens to kids in life like relationships and life ex- 1rst- i dont know 2nd- iknow 3rd- i dont know i mean like make a list like this that tells what happens in each school grade of a persons life? like this: 1rst grade- tell what 1rst graders do like.. i dont know 2nd grade- tell what 2nd graders are doing and so on 2 12th grade

Question: How come some kids respond positively to spanking while others don't? Why is it that there are some kids who respond positively to spanking, learn lessons from it and are made better people by it, and others who respond negatively and are disturbed or even scarred by it? Like, you see a kid every now and then who grows up to have a spanking fetish or something. Are kids' minds really so drastically different? I kind of think the effectiveness of discipline depends not so much on the method as on the kid. Like, there are some kids with whom it won't work, others with whom it will. Is that right?

Answer: Ok I'm a teenager and I'm from England so instead of spanking I'm going to use slapping :) First off, if anyone ever slapped me. My mother, my father ANYONE I would return the hit. No matter who it was, no one should be able to hit someone and get away with it. I class it as abuse whether it is bruised or not. Some kids will only respond to it through fear. Is that what you want, to intimidate your child. Nope. Theres much better ways to punish kids. Don't scream and shout you either loose respect and get walked all over, or frighten them. Worst thing for me is if my possesions are took away from me like my laptop.

Question: If you have 4 kids can your husband husband claim two and wife claims the other two kids? You file texes seperate but you are married to one another and live in a cando you own and both work. Will you both get 2,500 for each kid? So a total of $10,000. Can you do that? Or do you only get $2,500 per kid only two kids max? Someone told me you only can claim two kid max on taxes even if you have 4 kids, is that true?

Answer: OK-you have a lot of misinformation. You can claim as many kids as qualify 2,4 or 12. Who said you get $2500 per kid? There are so many variables, exemptions, child tax credit, Earned Income Credit. Some credits require you to file jointly some are available to those filing separate. I strongly suggest that you try filling out forms both ways-Jointly and Separate and see which one gets you the most refund and then file that way. I'll bet it will be MFJ-It usually is. A reputable tax preparer will do it both ways for you and then only charge you for the one actually filed.

Question: Racist kids at school saying obama will kill the white babies. What to say to my kids? Some racist republicans are telling their kids that Obama will kill white babies when he's elected, and these kids are going around the school scaring everyone else. What should I say to my kids about these idiots?

Answer: Same thing I told my kids when they were little and the racist republicans tried to scare them (we live in an area where this happens often). I said that those kids were simply wrong, and should be quietly corrected or ignored. And my kids got in fights over it. But they weren't scared...they were pissed.

Question: How start teaching your kids the alphabet/reading and when is the best age? I have 17 month old twin girls and i am a widower, thus a single father. How do you start teaching your kids to read and understand the alphabet? I have seen other parents at a group i go to showing their kids letters, and the kid tells them the letter. How do i start teaching them the alphabet and how to reconise letters? i find reading difficult and i read slow, if i start them reading earlier will it be easier for them? When is the best age to teach kids this?

Answer: i would read to them loads and loads. i would only teach them the basics of alphabet, not basic spellings or even how to form letters. i started doing this with my now 4 year old before she started nursey and when she started learning it at nursey it was different to how I had. this just confused her more. Early learning centre sell some brilliant books and audios which uses the same principles as schools, these might be worth looking at, that way you and school are teaching the same way. sorry I know school seems along way off, best to plan ahead! the early centre range is called Jolly Phonics and it includes flash cards, stories, puzzles,etc

Question: Why do Kids in the South start school earlier and kids in the north start school later? Some kids start school this week, some in the next in the south, and nothern kids start about 2-4 weeks away. Why do they start later?

Answer: In the north its a law that they have to start after labor day, at least in MI it is. Because in the south, it gets soooo hot that they need to be in school while in the north its just starting to get warm in july. They need August because June is still not that nice, it rains aton. In the south, they are hottttt in August and thats why they dont have to start after Labor Day

Question: How to teach the kids to cover their mouths when they sneeze? Okay so I have a home daycare and we have a 4yo, 2 3yo's, and 3 11/2 yo's. We have noticed lately that the older kids don't cover their mouths when they sneeze, often times sneezing or coughing on the other kids. We have brought it up to the parents and they don't seem to be concerned. We asked them to teach their kids to do this and they kinda said ok. We told them to teach them to cover their mouth with their arm, not their hand. At my house we kinda remind them after they sneeze that the need to cover thier mouths. When one of the kids does it we tell them good job! We are slowly trying it with the 1 1/2 yo as will even thogh they are young, I believe the early we introduce it the better. Any other advice? Are we asked to much?

Answer: This is not asking too much. I can't believe these parents don't teach them that. that's so sick. It's a battle, but you are doing the right thing by teaching them young and being repetitive. My daughter coughs endlessly b/c she has asthma. She still forgets to cover her mouth sometimes but I just remind her every single time. eventually they get it

Question: When do kids start to prefer some kids to others? My son is 5 and is happy to play with mostly everyone. When will he start to be more choosey and talk about certain kids over others? I'm just curious- I know all kids are different-- just wondering what your experience has been. Thanks!

Answer: I have seen it as early as 2 to 3 yrs of age. You child maybe a social butterfly who is happy to play and talk with everyone. He will have an active social life and have lots of friends. Other children find one or two friends who are close and play only with them. It really depends on your childs nature- introvert or extrovert

Question: How to keep neighborhood kids from jumping my fence? I have a 6' chain link fence around my yard, but a couple neigborhood kids continue to jump it as a shortcut to their house. Talking to their parents is not an option, since they don't care what their kids do as long as they leave them alone. The police won't do anything either, citing "they're just kids" and that is the end of their investigation. How can I (legally) do something to stop this - I don't want these kids breaking down this expensive fence. Oh BTW, they are renters but even their landlord doesn't do anything. He just wants his rent on time.

Answer: If you run barbed wire across the very top they'll hurt their hands the second they pull up. Add in some hot wire powered by a cattle box and they'll think twice about hopping your fence. The dog box doesn't hurt that much but the cattle box is enough to get a grown bull to take notice. I think a 100-200 lb teenager would REALLY notice. ;) If your police won't do their job, find out who is in charge of them and go over their heads. It is YOUR property and you are liable if anything happens to them on it. Call and talk to a lawyer if you have to. Some do free consultations and may have some suggestions for you.

Question: Can kids cross the border without birth certificates? My sister is planning a visit with her 3 kids, they have already been traveling for a few days so can not go back for birth certificates. Can she cross the border from Canada to US with the kids care cards?

Answer: First answerer missed the point...she seems to think your sister is a U.S. citizen, not a Canadian. Nope. Children must have that birth certificate and if the mother is bringing the children alone, she must have permission from the father. He must provide a signed , notarized letter giving permission for her to take the children out of the country, for each child. See 4th paragraph in first article below. Second article also states this is necessary when crossing Canadian- U.S. border. Now, I have rried to find a Canadian government soiurce for this info and cannot, these articles are written from the viewpoint of going from the U.S. to Canada, not the other way around. However, they do state that the Canadian gov't acknowledges these U.S. requirements and agrees and cooperates with them. If your sister did somehow manage to LEAVE Canada without the birth certificates and letters, she would probably have a terrible time re-entering Canada without them.

Question: How much do I spend on my sisters kids for christmas? I have three sister with kids that I have to buy christmas for. One sister has 5 kids age from 7 years to 1 year. Second sister has 2 kids 2years & 5 years old. Third sister has one child going on 2 years. On top of this amount of kids(equaling 8 kids) I have my own children (3) and kids on my husbands side to buy for. I don't know what a fair amount of money to spend. Any ideas would be grateful. Answer: My Husband and I have a total of 21 nieces & nephews . For Christmas we try not to go over $15.00 per kid . It may seem hard to get anything for $15.00 - but I try to hit the sales , or just give gift cards. The $15.00 adds up quick for 21 kids! :)

Question: How come people freak out if kids 12 and under think about sex? So, I just realized that people freak out if kids 12- ever have or think about sex. If a kid that age knows about sex, whose fault is that? I dont think kids should have sex at that age, but why freak out about it? It's the parents fault- if the kid doesnt know about sex and how to do it, they're not gonna have it!

Answer: There's a huge difference between a 12 year old thinking about sex and actually having sex. Most 12 year olds are curious about sex, and think about it. That's perfectly normal. I think the parents are responsible if their child that age is having sex, I would never allow a 12 year old to be in a situation that could lead to sex (i.e. She would not be allowed ANY time alone with boys).

Question: Why are kids so preoccupied with computer games and texting more than wanting to do their home work? Why is it most of the time you have to yell at your kid to stop texting or playing these computer games, and if you block certain shows from them on the tv they always why,and tell my friends parents let them play as long as they want and watch what they want. Don't kids know that you as a parent always do things for their best interest. Tough sometimes being a single mom.

Answer: Because they don't realize that those things have no real value.So they rather do what's cool and what they see their friends doing.Most of the time the kids don't realize their parents only want what's in their best interest.It's fine for them to want to do things that are enjoyable. But it's always important to remember work comes before play.And doing homework so you can get good grades so you can eventually get a good job is what's truly important.That's why it's so important for parents to be there to remind them this and give discipline.

Question: Why do teachers ignore it when kids call each other names or pick on others? For teachers, or anyone who knows, I see time and again kids in school picking on the 'ugly' or the 'poor' kid with no interference from teachers or staff, particular in 4th and 5th graders. Is there some sort of teaching that says teachers are not to interfere when kids are interacting this way? These picked on kids come home, sometimes, in tears. What do you say?

Answer: My only insight is that the bystander kids have to be empowered to do something and say something. I think most of this goes on in places in school where adults are not around. A group of kids who show they will not tolerate bullying of one of their members is the best defense. It has been shown time and again that if just one person steps up, others will follow. We need to really work on this in the early grades so people do step up and start that chain reaction.

Question: How can parents tell if their kids are experimenting with drugs and alcohol? Just read a study that kids that learn from their parents are 50% less likely to get tied up in problems like these. What can you do as parents to help keep kids out of this stuff? What can parents who have kids with these problems do to help their kids? Just wanted to post this question for parents to reference and because it seems to be a growing problem, so anything you have to say would be appreciated. I don't have a kid...?

Answer: my dad went in to a.a. when i was 7 or 8 and he always told us about his drinking and drugging experiences so i never had the desire to do it. i'm 28 now and although i did hang out and drink occasionally when i was younger, i never had the desire to drink or drug because i knew the far extreme it could lead to. for people that don't want their kids to drink and get into drugs i say stop acting like drugs and alcohol don't exist. tell them the horrifying stories you know of people got mangled in dui accidents and stories of girls getting date raped. i know its extreme but we need to start letting kids know early on that with drugs and alcohol can come extreme results. and don't wait until the kids are 15 and 16. start talking to them when they hit 10 or 11 and start to get more freedom with their friends. parents these days are too reactive and not proactive enough.

Question: How to have a true balance with adopted kids and biological kids? Me and my boyfriend adopted a kid who's a toddler now, and now I'm pregnant with probably twins or triplets. How should we balance our relationships between all children? Actually the problem is not me and my boyfriend because we will treat them fairly no matter what, but how do you teach kids to be fair to each other and also to the adopted kid I'm scared to have any issues that'll hurt my adopted kid. Thanks.

Answer: Just do a favour to yourself pleezz do not tell him that kid is the adopted one.. Let him behave as he/she is the eldest brother/daughter of all. and pleez do not ill treat him.
