Labels are idiotic.

Question: What is the best way to stick labels on a glass bottle? I have a few thousand glass bottles that I need labels. I have printed the labels and now need to stick them on the bottles. After many attempts the labels go on smoothly, but you can see a few ripples and air bubbles. How can I put on the labels without having these ripples and air bubble problem? It is a bit strange because the glue on the labels is very strong and I have used a hairdryer to heat the glue to make it stick better to the bottle.
Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!
Mike
Answer: I guess I'd try a brayer. you can find them in craft stores, usually in the rubber stamping section. they're used for making sure paper is adhered smoothly, usually to more paper, but I can't see why it couldn't be used on a bottle. unless your bottles are odd shaped and have no straight sides like a wine bottle.
Question: How do I print shipping labels on adhesive label sheets that have 2 labels per paper? So, I got some adhesive labels from UPS that have 2 labels per sheet. How do I print labels on them via Paypal? Whenever I print, it always has the instructions to fold it and stuff so it prints the label in the middle. I want to print the label on one of the labels...
Answer: Depending on which browser you use, go to File , Page Set Up, and for all the margins enter .25
When you go to paypal and are ready to print the label, there is something for printer preferences, and you can check to not print a receipt.
Hope this is of some help.
Question: What's the best brand label maker for making labels to stick on keys? I need to find a label maker that prints out quality labels and has tape/sticker that will stick well on door keys. Anyone with suggestions on brand, model or type of label maker?
Answer: I think the name of the label maker I am thinking of is called "Dynamo". It's a plastic wheel that makes hard plastic labels with a sticky material on the back that would stick to keys. You would just cut to size, and peel off the backing and stick on whatever surface you needed it for.
The label material comes in several colors, and you actually print out in white letters what you want it to say. This is all done on the machine. The alphabet is on the wheel and you turn it to the letter you need.
I don't know if they even make such a device anymore. But it worked great and it was not expensive to buy. You may want to try "Office Depot" or a business type store to purchase it. Also try a google search for "label maker devices".
Question: Why do people buy labels instead of ordinary clothes? I need another person's point of view. I mean, why do some people buy labels instead of ordinary clothes because some are the same but by different brands & the labels are much more expensive & yet some are the same as the ordinary clothes? Why would you buy labels instead of ordinary clothes?
Answer: Some people like to be label whores, but what is really wrong with that, its their money. If they don't mind spending 2-3x more then they should then It really shouldn't bother anyone else no matter how stupid buying something 2-3 more expensive sounds.
Also I notice when I go to the mall there isn't really that much ordinary clothing stores. Only clothing store I can think of that doesn't put their name over anything for my age group is forever 21 and H&M. Anything else is just as expensive as "name brand" clothes. Its like what they think we want now expensive clothing with their name all over it, even Victoria secret is doing it now
Question: How do I make a full page of labels on Microsoft word but with different addresses? I know how to actually do the labels but I want a full page of labels each label having a different address.
I can only seem to do one label at a time or a full page of labels with the same address.
Can anyone help?
Answer: Click Mailings, Mail Merge, Labels, and then follow the instructions.
Question: How to alphabetize labels in a Word document? I already copied and pasted labels from 4 different documents (they were all alphabetized) into one document of labels and would like to now alphabetize them. Can I do that, or is there a way to merge the 4 different documents together and have them alphabetized?
Answer: in home tab you can see an icon with letter A->Z click that the arrow is pointing downward...
Question: What labels should I put on a graph showing the results of an experiment on the water potential of potato? I've done an experiment on the water potential of potato tuber cells, using the density method. I used 5 different concentrations of sucrose solution, leaving a piece of potato to soak in them. After, I put a drop of this solution into a beaker of new solution, measuring the distance and direction travelled in 5 seconds. My question is, When plotting my results on a graph, what labels do I put on the axis?
Answer: The independent variable is the solution, so the concentration (%) goes on the X axis. Distance (mm) is the dependent variable, so it goes on the Y axis.
Question: How do you remove labels off of beer without harming the label? I need to keep the labels for a scrapbook. They can't lose co
they can't lose color or rip.
Answer: Put them in the sink with luke warm water. They should come off themselves. If not try sliding it a little bit. They dry out fine as well.
Question: How do you keep labels from peeling off a beer bottle collection? I have a modest beer bottle collection and I'm afraid that the labels will begin peeling off. I was thinking there might be some sort of craft stuff that I might be able to spray or brush over the labels to keep them from coming off. Any ideas?
Answer: Though this "technique" works with still life drawings (pencil, charcoal, etc.) I think it can apply to stickers and labels as well.
Spray it with hairspray. It's a sticky spray, and (as in still life), it prevents smudging and keeps the paper from curling and becoming dog-eared.
Alternatively, you may use scotch tape. Get it? Scotch?
Excuse me. It's pretty transparent if stuck to the label correctly. In fact, it doesn't need to show on the front. Stick a thin piece to the back of the label and place it on the beer bottle. Quite simple.
:D Good luck!
Question: How do I filter which labels I want printed using Microsoft Access? I need to run off postal labels for club members who want offers by post rather than by email. I have a field in the database titled 'Email' and I have entered either 'Y' or 'N' in this field. When I come to print the labels it's either all or nothing. Can anyone help me out?
Answer: You need to create a query and add the name and address fields. Also add the email field and enter the criteria "Y" or "N" under it. You don't need to print the email field so uncheck it.
If you are using Office-2007 then you are better off creating a Word document and one of their pre-set label templates and then using the MS Access query to fill in the data in a letter/label merge.
Question: How do partnerships between record labels work? I am considering starting a small record label. I want my business model to involve partnerships with other small international record labels.
Answer: This is a very broad question, but I'm going to give you some ideas:
Share Expenses;
-share studio sessions
-get videos shot on same day by same company
-get CDs made at the same time by same company for higher bulk pricing
Income Sharing:
-collab on albums/songs and both labels sell
-joint publishing company
-create music showcases

Question: How do you remove the adhesive from cigar labels? I am collecting cigar labels to make framed pictures featuring all the brands of cigars I've smoked. The problem is that some of the labels tear when I try to open them to flatten them out. One cigar shop owner told me to steam them in a colander, but some of the labels lost color. Any ideas?
Answer: very light steam....over a pot of boiling water.
Question: How to make your own beer labels? Can anyone tell me how to make my own beer labels? More specifically what type of labels, size and where to purchase them.
Could you guys tell me the size and where a cheap place to purchase these labels would be?
Answer: I make my beer labels with an inkjet printer on Epson high DPI paper. I attach them with a glue stick. Much better and cheaper than what you can buy. The combination doesn't run when it gets wet and the label slides right off after briefly soaking in warm water.
You can get the paper at places like Office Depot, Staples, etc.
Question: How do you interpret the nutritional labels on cat food? I was wondering whether you can "read" the quality of cat food from the nutrition label on the package. What do you look for?
I know the more expensive brands are generally considered to be of better quality, but why? When I look at the labels, the values are often pretty similar.
Answer: Actually expensive like from the vet is not good quality. You are paying for the vets bills.
There should be real muscle meat as the first item and not meat by products. You want as few grains as possible and you really want to stay away from the veggies and fruit. Cats are obligate carnivores. It means that while they live when given dry food they are not healthy even if they seem to be. Once changed and off dry they glow. No little spots of dandruff way more energy and a glowing coat.

This tells you how to calculate the numbers on the back of the can to see what is really in the food.

This is a good chart for all cats. Choose a wet food with high protein and under 10% carbs. You want to avoid fish and use it as a treat once or twice a week if that much. High in phosphorus and low in nutrition.
http://www.catinfo.org/ This is an article by Dr. Lisa Pierson DVM she has devoted her work to teaching people about the proper diet for cats. Please read that you will be glad you did.
Good luck and congrats you are looking into being a proactive force in your kitties life.
