Liquid Nutrition
Question: Is taking a liquid complete nutrition shot the ones with about 140 nutrients as good as eating the nutrients? The bottles that contain all the vitamins and omega fatty acids etc. as good as eating the food that bears the nutrients. cause ill be taking the shot everyday instead of having to eat fruit and vegetables all the time.
Answer: Though taking those nutrition shots is better for you than doing nothing at all, it isn't going to be as good for you as actually going out and eating all the fruits and vegetables you would normally need to eat to get those nutrients normally.
Our bodies are made to take in natural forms of food and no multi-vitamin or supplement can completely replace nature. There will always be some nuance or element in the fruits and vegetables that we eat that science will fail to recognize or replicate.
Hope this helps.

Great solution when having difficulty getting eldery to consume a whole ensure. Does anyone know the name of a product like this and where I can purchase?
Answer: There's Boost, Ensure, Ensure Plus, Metabol, Resource and Sustacal. But I'm not sure which ones come in 2-3 oz serving sizes...
Most are available in grocery stores or pharmacies, or can be recommended and prescribed by your doctor.

Question: Liquid nutrition for cats? My oldest cat is right around 20 years old. Throughout his whole life, we have had to deal with tooth and gum problems. Last spring, we finally had to have his last two teeth (canines) removed, because we simply could not get rid of the chronic gingivitis. Eating can be a challenge for him now, but he does pretty well with the food I give him (the Whiskas pouches with lots of gravy, etc.) and he does choose to eat dry food at times. Yet I feel like I could be getting him some better nutrition. He does not like the ground/pate type foods. Any thoughts on a liquid supplement, or something to help him eat healthier?
Answer: "Nutri-Cal" (it's for cats and dogs).. it comes in a tube, you squeeze it out and you can simply just stick it in your cat's mouth. I sometimes put it where my cats' mouths are and they lick it off. I don't think it would affect your kitty's teeth in any way, though I'm not 100% positive. The box reads: "Quality nutrition energizer for picky eaters, High calorie palatable supplement!" There's calcium, protein, and plenty of vitamins in the ingredients. My aunt has given it to her eighteen year old Siamese and that beautiful cat still can attack, I'll tell ya. She got me the other day. I hope your cat lives for years to come!
Question: Do the Nutrition Facts on canned fruits and veggies include all the liquid, too? I just opened a can of pineapple chunks and noticed how much juice was packed in the can with it. I'm reading the Nutrition Facts on the back and i'm wondering if the high carb/sugar count is just the fruit alone or all of the juice, too.
Answer: It includes the juice unless the label indicates otherwise. You can confirm this if you read the ingredients. If the ingredients include the juice (I'd be surprised if they don't) then the juice is included in the numbers.

Question: how long can a human survive on a an all liquid diet with nutrition and vitamins?
Answer: Considering where you posted this I'm going to assume that you're not interested in the scientific aspects of this but rather how you ~*lo0se wEighT FaSt*~.
You'd probably make it one day (or less) and feel horrid. Vitamins on an empty stomach will make you nauseous and maybe even throw up. They also are fat soluble so your beverage would have to have fats in it otherwise it would be a waste and just pass right through your body. Needless to say - if you're trying to lose weight fasting isn't the way to go. You either won't lose anything, or you'll gain it back because you would more than likely end up binging after-wards. Your body WILL go into starvation mode and hold on to everything. Since your metabolism will be so slow by the time you'd be done it would really just be a waste.
However if you're interested it's estimated 8 weeks without food and just water, though people have died before then and people have survived longer than that. It depends on their previous health and environment.
Also there are people who are in comas and have been for years who are tube fed, and surely you know that comas can last for years. So indefinitely - but you would have to actually know what you are doing and it would not be ideal for someone who isn't a vegetable.

how long will it take to gain 15 pounds?
i want to GAIN weight, not loose it
they are 8 fl oz cans in the U.S
i eat soo much....i just cant ever seem to gain weight, its my high metabolism
Answer: Ensure Plus will help you gain weight as it is a high calorie high protein drink (1.5 cal/ml).
You need to aim for ~2,500 kJ per day (divide by 4.2 for calories) in addition to your normal energy requirements (say ~7,500 kJ for someone your age) to promote weight gain (around 0.5 - 1 kg each week). Based on this you should drink ~ 2 cartons a day (are they 200ml tetras? they are in Australia). The calculation for this is based on the Ensure Plus providing ~6,200 kJ if you drink 1L.
Alternatively you can look for a 2 cal/ml nutritional supplement (e.g. Two Cal) or a powdered additive (e.g. Enprocal, Beneprotein, Polyjoule, Sustagen powder although that has a vanilla flavour). Add these powdered supplements to soup, custard, scrambled eggs, fruit smoothies etc.
Remember to also increase your total energy intake using 'good' or healthy fats. e.g. nuts, seeds, extra olive oil on your salad, avocado on your salad.
I also highly recommend you see a Dietitian (a registered dietitian) for further advice.
I hope this helps and good luck with the weight gain. I apologise for the metric units I don't have anything with me to convert.
Addit: that can is similar to the tetra packs, I would recommend 2 cans a day between meals (e.g. morning and afternoon tea) so that you don't fill up on the liquid. Make sure that you are eating small frequent meals (main meals + 3 snacks). Add skim milk powder to your milk and cereal in the morning. You may find that as you get older your metabolism will slow down and you won't find it so difficult to maintain your weight. Try not to eat fatty foods (e.g. takeaway etc with saturated fats) as while this will help you gain weight it is not a healthy option.
Question: Gaspari Nutrition Halodrol liquid gels? I recently saw this product in GNC and wondered if anyone has tried it before and if so, did it work for you and were there any side effects? Thanks.
Answer: It's a Prohormone...so unless you've reach your body's max muscle potential, which I doubt, then I'd stay away. Prohormones are just precursors of steriods which means they are sythesized by your body and later broken down into their steroid form. This can be a bit taxing on your liver and will have the same anabolic effects such as hair growth, muscle growth, acne etc....
It's not worth the potential side effects.

Question: Boiling vegetables, and consuming both vegetable and liquid, will this provide the same nutrition as steaming? Will boiling the vegetable, and consuming the vegetable and broth, give me the same benefits as steaming? I know that some vitamins may leach into the water, but will these vitamins be recouped after drinking the water?
Thanks,
Av
Answer: Steaming is much better but you can do it in the micowave much faster than in a steamer.
Question: Why are liquid eggs so fattening from the college cafeteria? Okay, so the scrambeled eggs they serve at the UT-Austin cafeterias have the nutrition info online. They post the ingredients as liquid eggs with Citric Acid! The nutrional label posts that it has 6 grams of protein and 13 GRAMS OF FAT in one serving! I know that's not natural so I was wondering if anyone knew why they are so fattening? Are they highly prcessed or something? Does anyone know where they buy them from?
Answer: That is impossible my friend. I can almost guarantee that their nutritional information is wrong.
One whole egg (average size) has 5 grams of protein and about 5 grams of fat. Surely, they are serving you more than one egg per serving right? Even if it was one egg, there is NO WAY one egg has 13 grams of fat.
Since you're in college, try to make friends with someone who's studying nutrition or food science. Then get them to take a look at the nutritional information. I can assure you, that is completely wrong.
Question: where can I buy Liquid Soft-Gel Green Tea Triple Fat Burner by Applied Nutrition ® in Canada ?
