Low Glycemic Foods

Question: What is the difference between the high and low glycemic foods?

Answer: High glycemic foods (starches) tend to cause the blood sugar to spike and rapidly fall. They can subsequently leave you feeling hungry after a while. Low glycemic foods are foods with carbohydrates that do not cause a significant rise in blood sugar, and that takes longer to metabolize, leaving you feeling satisfied for longer. To lose weight and for maximum comfort, stick to low glycemic foods. The South Beach Diet is partially based on them
