Question: How does Alcohol work as a mood enhancer and then a mood depresser afterwards ? anyone can explain what is happening in the brain that causes this? how does it work? why do people get into this, if so? does it stimulate good feeling chemicals in brain and then slowly depletes them from the brain? what else does it do? why and how so, if you agree?

Answer: Alcohol dialates blood vessels and gives you a rush (everywhere :) if you know what I mean. ) Eventually the affect of the alcohol changing and slowing down chemical reactions in you brain will surpress your central nervous system and slow you down and affect your ability to have your normal emotional reactions.

Question: What is good natural mood enhancer/de stressing supplement. I dont want to take any prescription meds? I'm just looking for something to help me calm down and be a little less stressed all the time. Any ideas of what works. I already work out and all that.

Answer: I take ST Johns Wort after eating breakfast, but it is not recomended for those taking birthcontrol pills

Answer: I am never without hope. September 10, 1997 - I arrived at Newark Penn Station after being gone for six months. Even after burying both parents, I know in my heart how lucky I am to have been blessed enough to have them as long as I did. Even through a difficult divorce, I never lost faith that I would meet the perfect man for me, and it has happened. Hope is essential to my life, and so is gratitude. BTW: I have not found a reason good enough to put another chemical into my body since that date, and if I am grateful for nothing else, I am eternally grateful for that.

Answer: the only mood mega doses of vitamin C effect is your bowel mood. You will get the runny poops from too much as it IS water soluable so more than you need is kicked out, in the form of the $hits.

Answer: I don't think I've used this brand but I have used 5-HTP off and on for years. I used to take 50mg in the morning. I've heard 100mg can be a bit much. Now I take a 200mg time-release one. I initially tried it as an appetite suppressant (since I'm always trying to lose that 5 extra pounds). And I figured my mood could always take some enhancing. I have found that it really does help my mood, especially when I'm very stressed at work. No side effects really except if I take it too late in the day I find that it makes my dreams more 'vivid' which I don't really like. Taking them in the morning seems to minimize that.

Its a drug.While a person might feel that it helps them to have a better mood or feel more relaxed/serene/calm/social etc-ultimately though its not the longterm solution to things like depression or feeling not at ease around people or happy in life etc-it just covers up the problem but doesnt actually address & change why your suffering depression or anxiety etc in the first place. Also,the negative health effects outweigh the benefits.It might have its place as pain management for people that have huge pain or are terminally ill & nothing else has helped them,but i dont think it is a good idea to try to deal with sadness/depression etc by smoking marijuana. A lot of people that smoke pot regularly end up sit around really unmotivated with no direction in life everydays just about smoking pot & the next days the same etc. I bet youve got a great personality & lots of talent though & could be really useful & valuable in something like helping people and you could achieve so much & its not really possible to do that if you decide to go down the track of smoking pot heaps.
