Nutrients

Question: Nutrients? I've been a vegetarian for seven months and I feel a lot healthier and such, but lately I've been feeling rather tired and had no appetite and had lots of headaches, and I'm thinking I may be lacking protein? So if anyone has any ideas on recipes including a good amount of protein, or just food in general that are protein rich, that'd be great help :). Also if you know how to get other essential nutrients, such as iron and whatnot that'd be great as well, I want to improve my diet.

Answer: It's probably not protein, since it's not protein that gives you energy, but carbohydrates. Instead, try taking vitamin B12 daily - I take 1000 mcg per day. The best kind is the sublingual methylcobalamin lozenges since the absorption is better than swallowing. Also take a good multi-vitamin. Make sure that you are drinking 1/2 your weight in oz. of water or other decaffeinated fluid. Being dehydrated can give you headaches big time. You only need about 40-50 grams of protein per day and that's easy to get, even on a vegetarian diet.
