Question: Nutrients? I've been a vegetarian for seven months and I feel a lot healthier and such, but lately I've been feeling rather tired and had no appetite and had lots of headaches, and I'm thinking I may be lacking protein? So if anyone has any ideas on recipes including a good amount of protein, or just food in general that are protein rich, that'd be great help :). Also if you know how to get other essential nutrients, such as iron and whatnot that'd be great as well, I want to improve my diet.
Answer: It's probably not protein, since it's not protein that gives you energy, but carbohydrates. Instead, try taking vitamin B12 daily - I take 1000 mcg per day. The best kind is the sublingual methylcobalamin lozenges since the absorption is better than swallowing. Also take a good multi-vitamin. Make sure that you are drinking 1/2 your weight in oz. of water or other decaffeinated fluid. Being dehydrated can give you headaches big time.
You only need about 40-50 grams of protein per day and that's easy to get, even on a vegetarian diet.

Answer: I couldn't find much information either. I've heard people say that the rind does carry the added risk of carrying salmonella and pesticides. Because of it's strong taste and tough texture most people avoid it. I did find this site though that may be of interest to you. It's about juicing cantalope with the rind... Question: What nutrients and vitamins should I focus on getting for more energy? My girlfriend and I have decided to start exercising more now. We walk, jog, bike, and lots more. Answer: As an ex breeder of over 45 years breeding Cockatiels ,I always fed my birds on a good seed diet along with various veg, and fruit.
Veg , consisted of Broccoli , Sweet Corn Cob, Carrot,Kale, Sprouts, Spinach.Dandelion leaves and seeding heads.
Fruit such as Apple ,Pear, Grapes,(never Avocado, or Lettuce)
But the best food in breeding season was Soaked sprouting seed ,
Soak some of their seed with the addition of small Sunflower,Mung Beans,Hemp.in warm water over night, drain , rinse ,place somewhere warm till it sprouts (2-3 days) rinse and feed a.s.a.p.to your birds, they will benefit from this tremendously and do not forget Cuttle bone and a Mineral block.

Answer: You need to basically keep their main diet a good cichlid pellet. I really like Hikari's Cichlid Gold pellet, it is a good all around cichlid food that contains everything they need to stay healthy. I have just ordered another pellet food from Hikari called Bio-Gold, it is supposed to be very good for South American cichlids. Flowerhorns are hybrid cichlids, but the species they come from are all South and Central American cichlids, so as long as you keep the diet the same as it would be for any other SA or CA cichlid you should be fine. No food will help the hump get larger on the Flowerhorn, this is a genetic trait, feeding it a specific food will do nothing to the hump that will not happen naturally.

Question: What is the proper way to provide nutrients to my plants, growing hydroponically? on the bottle it says how much to use per gallon so how do i know when its been used up and when do i have to add more nutrients, i have seen some people wait until the reservior empties to half then they flush and refill then add more nutrients, what do you think?
Answer: Plants absorb nutrients through capillary action at the rate of concentration of the available nutrient. They absorb the fluid then extract the nutrient, they do not extract the nutrient from the free floating fluid.
That is why there is a recommended concentration. The flushing of the reservoir is to remove settled solids and other impurities so as not to change the concentration of the newly added solution. What you have observed is the recommended procedure for small non commercial hydroponics.
