Nutritional Vitamin Supplements
Question: Has anyone (men) come across a true ED/stamina improving vitamin / nutritional supplement that actually works? Just curious if anyone has experience with nutritional supplements that actually work to improve sexual performance/stamina. Something obtainable at a nutritional store like GNC (or better). Improvement examples (clean) are welcome.
Answer: Hi Walman, these herbs really work.
Gingko Bilboa - helping those with erection problems.
Ginseng - relax the artery walls, resulting in increased blood flow to all parts of the body including the sexual organs.
Yohimbe - works by increasing blood flow to the penis.
Horny Goat Weed - it increases sperm production, and it also raises the level of the male sex hormone testosterone, which is directly linked to sex drive.

Question: Vegetarians- do you take any vitamins or nutritional supplements?
Answer: I take a multivitamin daily which includes B12. I don't think I'm missing anything much, but it seems like good insurance.
Question: I would like to know a good Nutritional Supplement / Vitamin to help get rid of anxiety and help concentration I have had anxiety for a while now, I have been on Remeron for the past year and it helps but there are times when I can't concentrate on work because of this and my brain feels foggy and unable to think straight, then there are time when I get a panic attack out of nowhere and feel like I am going to vomit.
I would like to know a good Nutritional Supplement / Vitamin that is fast acting that will clear my mind of fog, help with concentration and get rid of the anxiety when it comes out of know where. I have tried chamomile tincture and bach rescue remedy and they have not helped at all.
Also note that I would like the recommendation to be safe and have minimal side effects when taken in addition to Remeron. I was going to try Kava Kava but my doctor said it damages the liver easily, also St. John's wort but I can't take it with Remeron, so my doctor said to do some research and get back to him with a list of things I would like to try.
By Doctor above I ment my Psyciatrist.
Answer: Reading the symptoms you're describing, it sounds like you legitimately have some type of anxiety or panic disorder. Is there a reason your doctor hasn't referred you to a psychiatrist for evaluation? Supplements are generally useless. Their claims aren't monitored or verified by the FDA, and as I far as I know of there's no supplement that's been shown to effectively treat anxiety. Remember, even if something is "clinically proven" to work, that doesn't tell you how effective it is. It could be something has minor as a 1 percent improvement. Is that a result you're willing to throw your money away on?
That's just my two cents. Since that wasn't really an answer to your question, you could try looking in to the following:
Valerian Root, 5-HTP, L-Tyrosine, GABA....
The last three are amino acids involved in the synthesis and production of brain chemicals serotonin and dopamine, which help out with feelings of well-being ,contentment, and concentration. No guarantee of their effectiveness, however.
Question: Can soliders take nutritional supplements ... vitamins, protein, when they are deployed overseas?
Answer: I would think so. The site I get my protein powder from offers special deals to soldiers.
Question: Can doctors sell nutritional products directly to their patients? Is this practice legal or used, to sell nutritional supplements/vitamins directly to a patient? (For a self-employed doctor)
Answer: yes they can but it depends on their practice and what they specialty is. Our nutritionist here in town sells his supplements in his office.
Question: Are there any working multi-vitamin supplements out there that exist? I am really starting to wonder if there are any nutritional supplements out there that really work? I have taken one-a-day supplements, citrum, equate brands, bayer brands and I have not seen any difference in taking them than before i started taking them. I really would love to find something I can take out there that can really benefit my whole body and something that actually WORKS! I am tired of spending money on products that they tell you that will help your body out but all it seems to be is a sugar pill or wasteless material that goes into your body and comes out without ever helping it. I was wondering if anyone takes anything out there for a multi-vitamin that actually works for them and would help my body out? I don't know if I have something wrong with my body as to why every nutritional supplement I take doesn't seem to benefit me and if that is the case, I wonder if there is something I can take out there that would help that cause? Thanks everyone, take care!
Answer: If you are a regular, otherwise healthy person who gets 3 square meals a day w/ some fruits/veggies, and this part you may not want to hear:You don't need any vitamins.
Not sure if you're in the USA or not, but here nearly everyone gets a good diet unless you have some background issue: alcoholic, living below poverty or have a medical reason like malabsorption. Otherwise your vitamins will end up being peed out over the next 24 hrs. Some people like taking B6 or B12 claiming to have increased energy... No large, credible medical study has verified this claim. My advice is to eat a full range of healthy foods, not forgetting veggies like most adults and you'll be fine. Unless there's a specific complaint or reason that you started to take them for in the first place? Good luck.
Question: Does Vitamin D added to milk lose its nutritional value when I boil the milk in micro/stove? Hi, I'm asking because the only vitamin D I'm getting is from milk since there is almost no sun in the winter where I live - Toronto, Canada. (or just too cold to be outside) THANKS.
ps. I'm not taking vitamins, yes that's an option but for some reason i prefer not to take vitamins supplements.
Answer: Get your butt outside, Neil, it's not that bad! It may be cloudy, it may be cold, but it won't kill you. Do not sit inside in front of your computer all day long. Walk your dog or learn to snowboard. You shouldn't be boiling your milk, anyway. Boiling it makes it form a skin, and it does destroy nutrients. If you are making hot chocolate, you just bring it to a simmer. Figure out your microwave settings so you are not boiling it, or keep an eye on the stove.
You can also get Vitamin D in fatty fish, such as canned tuna, salmon or mackerel, or you could just man up and take a cod liver oil capsule. That's not exactly a pharmaceutical type supplement. Check online for other natural Vitamin D food sources.

Question: What are good nutritional supplements for energy? And are there any other vitamins, minerals, or otherwise that would help with energy, such as green tea?
Answer: Iron deficency test: Go to the mirror and pull your lower eyelid and see if the color is red or flesh color. If its flesh colored you are lacking enough iron and should take a herbal iron like Floradix. It will take a month to see a difference. Iron carrys oxygen in your blood and if you dont have it you will feel tired, cold hands and feet, headaches, RLS, dull brittle hair, brittle nails, poor sleep, pale skin (see thru), shortness of breath, fatigue, poor concentration, low mood, ringing in the ears, cracks in the corner of the mouth, dizziness, fainting, sore tongue and canker sores oh and pale mucous membranes in lower eyelid
Question: do i need to take nutritional supplements daily? I watch what i eat, i seem to feel healthy so do i need to take any specific vitamins? Also, what do you request if i want to lose more weight?
Answer: Well, doktors say it's a waste of time and money, but in order to get all of the necessary elements (vitamins, fiber, antioxidants, etc), you would have to eat 75-100 pounds of food every day, so I would say "Yes" to your question. However, supplements cannot replace a good diet, which is why they are called supplements.
I take A, B-Complex, B-12, Vitamin C in the form of "powdered, buffered calcium ascorbate", D, E, and K, as well as a calcium/zinc/magensium supplement to help buffer the C, which is very aggressive (don't take Vitamin C in the form of straight ascorbic acid). I also take good oils, like flaxseed and a blood cleanser (NAC), which helps to remove metals from the blood. Also, do some research on the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance), which is set by the FDA, because their figures are ridiculously low. For instance, they say that you need 60mg of C every day. You need way more (I take around 10,000mg/day).
These are the basics and I urge you to spend some time researching on the internet. It's all there for you. THE key to all of this is keeping you body's pH level on the alkaline side of the scale, where pathogens cannot grow...Best advice I ever got.
Good Luck...

Question: Why are Democrats anti-vitamin and supplements? Why did they sneak it into the "Financial Reform" Bill? Of all the sneaky tactics practiced in Washington D.C., this recent action by Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA) is one of the most insidious: While no one was looking, he injected amendment language into the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009 (H.R. 4173) that would expand the powers of the FTC (not the FDA, but the FTC) to terrorize nutritional supplement companies by greatly expanding the power of the FTC to make its own laws that target dietary supplement companies.
This is a little-known secret about the FTC and the nutritional supplements business: The FTC routinely targets nutritional supplement companies that are merely telling the truth about their products. Some companies are threatened by merely linking to published scientific studies about their products.

Yes. Codex
Answer: Why are conservatives so stupid that they can't even take a legitimate concern with out masking it in a barrage of hyperbole and dishonesty? "Democrats anti-supplement" "sneaky practices" "insidious" "terrorize nutritional supplement companies" "greatly expanding powers" This is why the Republican voice has become so irrelevant. They have become bombastic, sensationalistic and so often dishonest.
Question: Gastric Bypass Surgery: What Nutritional Supplements Do You Need? I'm not getting gastric bypass, but I have idea I wanted to try of trying to mimic it by eating very small portions for meals. :) And I'd also take the pills that gastic bypass patients take to make sure that I get all my vitamins and minerals.
I'm not morbidly obese or anything, but I could stand to loose 50-70 pounds. ;) I'm not too fond of intense excercise, so I'd rather eat less and exercise at a more moderate level.
Is this healthy, or will my body go into starvation mode because it feels that my stomach is too empty because it has not been reduced in size?
Hope I dont sound silly. Just thought it may be a good idea. Hoping to get some opinions from people and if you know the complete list of vitamins needed, please list them for me. Thanks! :)
Answer: There is a singnificant percentage of people that get peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage) after losing weight fast. Aprox 5%. Here is a website that list vitamins you will need if you have gastric bybass surgery. Definately consider taking B-complex vitamins. Ask your doctor.
Question: What are good natural sources of B-12 vitamin? I have a slightly elevated cholesterol level.
I have made the switch from Vegetarian to Vegan and plan to spend the time to get all nutritional needs met.
I have heard that walnuts have vitamin B-12.
Any other natural foods or nutritional supplements that you know of for B-12?
Thank you in advance for all thoughtful answers to come!
Answer: Congrats on becoming a vegan! No walnuts do not contain b12 neither does most nutritional yeast. Walnuts do contain omega 3 though!
Some good sources of B-12 are fortified cereals, fortified soy/rice milks, meat substitutes/soy analogs, some brands of fortified brewer's & nutritional yeast (such as Red Star & Twinlab). Sea vegetables like seaweed, dried nori, & spirulina, may contain vitamin B12, but their content varies and may be unreliable, lactic acid fermented products such as like tempeh, msio, beer & sauerkraut, but their content as well varies and may be unreliable. Marmite, So Delicious Dairy Free Yogurt, Manging Star foods, and other vegan store bought foods also contains B12 (Cyanocobalamin).
You should check out the site below, it contains a lot of vegan nutrition information and links:

Question: I am looking for feedback regarding the nutritional supplement, Reliv. It is a multi-vitamin by Reliv int'l. Please only respond with personal experiences. I am not looking for hearsay. I have been on the products for 5 months now and nothing, but i do believe in nutritional healing. thoughts?
Answer: $ It is good for someone who is being treated by chemicals for cancer. My second cousin once removed used it. It keeps you going to the toilet on a regular basis. Taking a dump will be better than the runs, even though it comes out like little black marbles.
