Question: What are the positive effects of hunting? What I mean by that is what are the "positive" effects of huntingand it's impact on the enviroment? NO sarcastic answers, or answers saying there's nothing positive hunting, because this is for an essay, and i need the positives of hunting; when i say positives, i mean the positive effects on the enviroment, other animals, etc??? What are the positive impacts of hunting in nature??? I dont want to know how it affects humans necessarily, but how it affects the enviroment and other animals.
Answer: It keeps certain animal populations controlled so they don't dominate the animal population. When certain animals are increasing in population, hunting is then encouraged to bring it back to an equilibrium. Humans ARE animals. I think we are so full of ourselves that we forget we are indeed mammals. We need to stop seeing ourselves outside of nature and realize that we are part of it. That the whole world works as a whole. I really dont like hunting or condone it but it does have a point. When humans take control over the natural world and regulate animals then that control has to extend out into also making sure there is balance and that one population does not dominate killing out another. And then also to protect certain populations by reducing hunting when they decline (bison for example!) I think there are multiple levels in which hunting affects the environment- you could even talk about hunting products. Whether hunting is fair? I think hunting turns into something for pansies when the hunters use tons of camo, use towers to climb up and take cheap shots. But manufacturing all of this equipment certainly has an impact on the environment. And whether the hunters eat or dont eat their kill impacts the environment. Also, I think hunting does affect the hunters. Is there still an instinct within us to hunt for food, the thrill and excitement of the kill? Just start researching the history of hunting. You can discuss the evolution of hunting, the turning from a gathering culture to a hunting one and how consuming meat has negatively affected the world! Tons of info out there, take an angle and hop to it! :)
Question: How to stay positive during a string of bad luck? I've had a six month string of bad luck (much of which I had no control over) while those close to me have been having a lot of positive things happen to them. I am happy for their success but it reminds me of the lack of positive aspects in mine. What are some tips/ideas to remain positive until this bad luck spell passes?
Answer: you could apply eftuniverse.com to any doubts you have click on 'get started free' for the free version.
It will clear out any negatives you may have.
You could also remove any astological or other reasons you think you may have to have bad luck, etc.
Question: What positive things can teachers in school help to promote no more bullying with the girls in class? My daughter is in the 4th grade and has been the victim of bullying along with other girls. There seems to be the bullies and the targets. The school is doing nothing positive to help the girls through this time. I want to suggest some ideas on how to help the teachers enforce positive things at school, any suggestions?
Answer: assign seats, assign partner for any activity that requires a partner. have security to stop physical bullying. Talk in class about social bullying, Have a group discussion of why it is wrong.
Question: What are positive ions, how can I make them in my house and keep the bad ones away? I bought an air purifier and it said it has a positive ion field that makes my air ionized. What are positive and negative ions? How else do I make good ones and keep the bad ones away?
Answer: positive ions are atoms with one or more less electrons, which were most likely given to negative ions (atoms with one or more more atoms) Salts (like NaCl (normal salt you put on your eggs)) consist of a pattern of positive and negative ions which makes them magnetically bind with eachother, this binding is so strong that salts need a very high temperature to melt. About ionized air, I think it's just plain nonsense, air consists of non-metals, so there cant be any positive ions (non-metals are always negative or neutral, the only take electrons).
Question: What are positive effects of putting antibiotics in animal feed? I'm doing a science project in school, and I have to make a brochure with positive and negative social and health effects on the community. I have looked at all the websites I can find, but there's hardly any positive effects! A little help?
Answer: The purpose of putting antibiotics in animal feed is to keep livestock from getting sick.
This practice is only typically used in commercial farming/feed lots where animals are co-mingled from different farms and are in tight quarters.
This helps them prevent disease in the cattle.
These antibiotics are not needed on smaller farms, that's why they don't use them.
Question: What is positive reinforcement to a rabbit? I have an aggressive rabbit, and many web sites say to treat him with positive reinforcements. What are positive reinforcements to a rabbit?
Answer: My bunny used to be aggressive too! To build his trust, speak gently to him and give him a treat once in a while, like a small slice of carrot, or some mint leaves. Play with him more on the ground, so he doesn't get it into his head that you're a predator. Have fun with him! :)
Question: How do you send positive energy into the world? All this talk about positive energy and karma has got me wondering, how exactly does someone send positive energy into the world to receive positive energy back?
Most clear response will receive best answer.
lol yeah I mean energy not as in the electrical kind.
Answer: I think you're in the right place. Science (learning about atoms) got me into energy healing (reiki) which in turn got me into physics. Science might "define" energy in a certain way, but there is a lot we don't fully understand. The placebo effect, visualization (for healing) with positive results, "vibes" we feel in certain places or with certain people. Those things are real, but we don't have much of a scientific explanation for them yet. I have a personal theory that thoughts take on some type of physical form that just haven't been discovered yet.
Sending out positive energy is easy, you just need to find a way that suits you. I partially believe that if you send it out, you will get it in return, and I partially believe that it was always there, it's just that being more open to it allows you to receive it.
What you can do.. anything that is spiritual to you. Do you have a god you believe in? If so, pray to him. Do you love the earth? If so, pray to nature. Think good thoughts, smile at random people, hold the door open for someone, pick up trash when you see it on the streets or in the woods. Remind yourself of things that you're thankful for, or better yet, write them down, even the little things. Seeing a little kid smile,
watching a sunrise or sunset, having a nice pair of gloves on a warm day. Anything.
Sit in a quiet place and meditate. Picture a root coming down from the base of your spine and enter the deepest part of the earth. Feel at one with things around you, see the connections.
Or sit and picture light (god, nature, the universe, wherever you beleive life comes from) come in through the crown of your head.. it's clean and pure.. let it enter you, take it in, and send it radiating out from your body.. send it all over your house, to the people you love, until it eventually covers the earth and everything that lives here.
Just be connected and think positively. And that doesn't mean to ignore negative feelings - they're there for a reason - just deal with them and let them go. Want good things to happen to people, even if you don't like them. The more you think positvely, and the more you feel connected, the more naturally it all will come. You'll find your own way to send out positivity.
Question: What is a polyatomic positive ion, and how do I identify ions as positive or negative? I am planning on taking AP Chem next year and have regretfully skipped Chem I. Thus I am stuck teaching myself everything in Chem I over the summer. I encountered these terms in my textbook and they sound SO FAMILIAR but for some reason I just can't find any material to help me.
How do I tell if an ion is positive or negative?
And what is a polyatomic positive ion?
Thank you so much in advance; I'm sure I'll have many more questions!
Answer: Go get yourself Chemistry for Dummies
go to websites that focus on reading the periodic table
With the periodic table
label the first column 1+
the second 2+
the third colume 3+
the next to last column 1-
the column to the left of that 2-
and one more to the left again 3-
whatever column an element is in look at the sign i just stated above to determine if positive or negative ions created and with what charge - example potassium (K) is a positive ion with a 1+ charge. An ion is an element that has either lost or gained electron(s). A potassium ion lost an electron therefore; the ion now has more protons than electrons. Since protons are postive the ion has a positive charge.
Look at Al (aluminum) It has a 3+ charge because the element lost 3 electrons turning it into a postive ion. ,
On the flip side, the flurine (F) likes to gain one electron so now has more electrons than protons. Since electrons are negative and has more of them it becomes a negative ion with a 1- charge.
This is only one small part of chemistry and is hard to teach yourself (this was one small part of one chapter) find a tutor somewhere! Your smart to get a jump on it now!
Question: What is a positive thing that will result if no abortion is acted? You had the baby. Looking for positives. I have not found any results i want here in answers and when i look it up on google videos show up in the web pages they link to. And i don't want that.
Again only looking for positive reasons why to not have an abortion.
Answer: I think you would find most people who decide against abortion after an unplanned pregnancy end out coping and coming to terms with a situation that might not be considered ideal. The pregnancy may have been unplanned and come at not the greatest time, but if they continue the pregnancy and choose to parent they'll love that child and not be able to imagine life without them. Being a parent becomes their life. So, a positive would be that they are the parent to a child they love more than anything. Of course, this doesn't happen in all situations and many unwanted pregnancies become unwanted, neglected and abused children.
Question: What are the positive goals of masculism? I see some masculinists are very upset with feminists and some of their actions. So instead of listing what is wrong with what feminists have done, what are the positive goals of maculinists? What can non-feminists and feminists do to support these positive goals?
Thank-you to those who answered the question vs the ones who obviously were unable to.
Answer: There are basically three areas in the Mens Rights movement.
1. Fatherhood. We want to raise our children without interference from others. In a situation where there is a divorce, fathers want equal access where women are held 100% equally responsible for following court orders of visitation and child support.
2. Career. Men want equal opportunities with regard to access to educational programs and career vacancies. Not programs like "women and minorities encouraged to apply" affirmative action. What? Non Minority males are not encouraged to apply?
3. Protection from the violence from women with laws that are enforced by law enforcement. Additional protection from "false accusations" leading to the prosecution of the person using the law against the innocent.
Question: What are some positive and some negative impacts of computer technology? In what ways has computer technology negatively impacted society? How has it positively?
I am writing a synthesis argument paper for a class and the topic is whether computer technology has had more of a negative impact or a positive impact on society.
I am trying to make a list of both positive and negative impacts and am in need of some more ideas. What do you think?
Answer: Hi,
Positive:
i) reducing cost / number of staff needed.
ii) Reducing amount of hardware (printers) due to LAN networking.
iii) Fun - games, Internet, music, graphics.
iv) Communication. More ways to interact globally.
v) Education - access to info for research.
vi) 3rd world - cheaper to provide laptops thean to send books over (OLPC, etc)..
Negative:
i) Hardcore porn industry (including child porn)
ii) Hackers, ID fraud and spoof websites,
iii) Virusses, spam and trojans.
iv) Cyber-bullying and cyber-stalking.
v) People unable to interact 'in person'.
vi) Online gambling.
Hope these help!

Question: Where does the positive battery connector connect to at the other end? Have a peugeot 205 1.4 which is exhibiting symptoms of a flat battery. I have found the positive lead has a breakage in it, however can not find any damaged wire, or connectors for which it was originally connected to.
Does anyone know where the positive wires should lead to? It's very short but I can't find anything that looks like it was connected to.
Answer: If your 205 1.4 was built in or after 1987, then you have a TU3 series engine(7 different kinds), and the THICK red (or black!) positive wire goes behind the engine to the starter motor. It will probably be sheathed in a plastic loom (tube). Then, another wire continues onward to the alternator on the opposite side of the engine, towards the front. You may have two THINNER wires that go to the cooling sensor, and directly to the fuse box. But this varies from year to year and maybe from country of manufacture?
If your 205 was built between 1983 and 1986, then you have an XY7 or XY8 engine, 1.4, and the starter motor is in front of the engine, facing the radiator. You will have two thinner positive wires that go towards the fusebox.
None of the models has a positive wire that goes directly to the alternator without first reaching the starter motor.
Question: What is the positive side to people paying for 100% of their post-secondary education? What is the positive side for individuals, instead of the governement, to pay for 100% of their post-secondary education? Will people become more concerned about where their money is specifically allocated? Is it fair to pay for someone else's post-secondary education through taxes even though I may never need it myself?
Please don't respond with something juvenile like "There is not positive side".
Answer: Less people would be able to go to college. This would make it easier for rich kids to get into competitive schools.
Most of what the government provides is subsidized student loans. If you get one of these loans, you don't have to pay any interest until you graduate. Without this, and without other need-based aid like Pell grants, very few people would be able to afford college. You would have to have parents with large amounts of cash reserves. Even then, they would have to be willing to pay for your college. I have known parents who would rather put in a pool than cover their children's education.
Question: What positive things have the white man accomplished? It seems all that the white man produces is negative. Atomic bombs, Chemical weapons, machine guns. What positive things have they ever done for this world?
Answer: Would you consider the Greeks white? If so, they invented democracy, perfected mathematics, and refined ethics. The French and English championed political freedoms and religious tolerance during the Enlightenment. And please remember much of the greatest music, art, and literature that humans have ever produced: Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, Van Gogh, Monet, Turner, Watteau, Fragonard, Michelangelo, Raphael, Dickens, Emerson, Thoreau, Orwell, Dumas, Voltaire, Rousseau, Diderot, etc.
