Re-hydrate

Question: How to re-hydrate dried terracotta clay? Hello, I improperly stored some terracotta clay and now it's hardly malleable. Is there a way to re-hydrate it?

Answer: if it is just past malleable you can try storing it in a plastic bag. Put bag into a bucket and you pour a cup or two of water into the bag. If it is really hard the best way is to let it dry all way out. Break it up into pieces and put into bucket completely covered with water. Wait like a day. Pour off superfluous water. Then put clay onto plaster bat or pieces of dry wall. The dry plaster will absorb the excess water.
