Question: What are some good snacks to stop you from being hungry? I am one of those people who gets "hangry" when it's time for me to eat. I'm looking for some new snack ideas of fairly low-cal, healthy-ish things that serve my purpose of snacking (to make me not hungry).
The snacks that seem to do the best for me are hard-boiled eggs, beef jerky (not the weird processed meat sticks), edamame, a small apple with cheese or peanut butter or baby carrots with a bit of peanut butter. Sometimes I'll have nuts (like almonds or cashews) but they don't seem to stop the hunger (and instead I just want to idly eat them because they are delicious). Please help me with ideas for new snacks, I'm not looking for processed food ideas like the 100 calorie packs or things of that nature.

I should mention I do drink 3 quarts of water (or more) per day.
Answer: First think fresh fruit, except for high starch ones like bananas \
and pineapple. any kind of low starch veggies, but I dont find
them especially satisfying. Eggs, meat, but stay away from the
bread. A 19 oz can of Progresso chunky chicken soup only
has 200 calories and is delicious. Beef and Barley, only 240.
I sometimes just eat a can of beans or black eyed peas for a
satisfying snack.
Question: What snacks can I eat between main meals that contain less than 100Cal? I am planning to shed down 40pounds and following a strict diet, by means of cutting down my calories intake per day.
However, I just found out that, doing so might impair my metabolism. I need to eat regularly so that my tummy won't starve and at the same time burn fats.
Snacking is one way to keep eating regularly. So I need to know healthy snacks with fewer calories.
Answer: Definitely fruit and veg/salad. Apples and carrot sticks and celery sticks are good. They have a lot of fiber so make you feel full between meals. Avoid fruit juices, as they have no fiber and lots of natural sugar that will give you an energy spike, then a crash. A small handful of raw nuts or a small tub of low fat yogurt or unflavored cottage cheese or a glass of plain skim milk will do you good as well.
Question: What tasty snacks are good to eat in the evening? Fortunately, I've been able to get more exercise lately *proud*, but one more problem keeps me from perfect health. I have a tendency to snack during the evening. It helps me to focus on work, but the first thing I do is grab the closest thing - the potato chips! Please tell me some snacks that taste good, but are low in bad fats, etc. and are healthy. The only idea I really have so far is carrots. Thanks!
Answer: Carrots and apples, you can dip the apples in a measured amount of peanut butter and for the carrot sticks or other veggies make a yogurt based dip, find a dip recipe on google and replace the sour cream with plain yogurt and add some spices and those plain carrots become something to sing about.

*Fresh fruits
*whole grain breads (not white bread or enriched white bread)
*nut butters that are low in sugars and salt......... eat fruits with the nut butter to compensate for the lack of sugar)
*sliced root vegetables such as carrots, jicama (mexican turnips), beets
Instead of sodas or even what companies claim to be "juices" with high fructose corn syrup, drink water instead and alternate with either hot or cold-brewed teas that you can occasionally sweeten with a touch of honey. NO ENERGY DRINKS and NO COFFEE. Do your best to keep your blood sugar in check.
If you need calcium, go for the non-fat milk, and go easy on the cheeses.... if you can skip out on butter/margarine, you might as well, since they are used for pretty much the majority of cooked foods that you may buy from a restaurant or even a fast-food joint.
For vitamin-D, again, go for the low/non-fat dairy.... or just spend some time in the sun (but not too long). (yes, I consider this a snack for your skin cells).
Instead of chips, try going for baked cracker items that are low in fat and sodium. If you like to add flavor to them, you can go for the healthier dips (salsa, hummus, chutney) that are also low in sodium, sugar, and other preservatives)........ it's best if you just make it fresh, yourself.

Answer: if you like popcorn go to Henry's and buy Henry's popcorn for like $1.50. theirs salt and cheese. i love white cheese popcorn from Henry's. and its like 2 1/2 cups of it for like 120 calories.
Question: What snacks can you make with pizza dough besides pizza? Me and my friend were not thinking and made pizza dough then realized we don't have tomato sauce. What other snacks can we make with it?
Answer: You don't need tomato sauce, you can use Smokey BBQ or any sauce you like. Put on the cheese and other toppings and go for it. Alternatively you can used canned apples and a few raisins and a sprinkle of sugar and fold this in half and bake and it will be a sweet apple pastry. Anything you can imagine in pastry can be done with pizza dough. Brush the dough with egg wash and sprinkle over any seeds like sunflower or poppy and season with spices and salt then cut up and bake in little finger size snacks. It's all good food.

Question: What kind of snacks to give to toddler that go a long way? I need to stretch my dollar a little more these days and I have been getting him the "baby snacks" but they are so expensive for the little amounts they give you. What do you buy for your toddler for snacks? He is 13 almost 14 months old. Also how long did you continue to feed him the baby food jars? He has his front teeth but no back teeth and I am afraid to give him real solids since he wont really be chewing them with any teeth. Any tips or advice for this or what did you do?
Answer: You really need to get your son starting on solid food. My daughter has been chewing solid food since she was 10 months old. She is 15 months and still does not have any back teeth. Just cut up his food really small.

Question: What kinds of snacks and meals are best for a BEACH environment? I'm planning a little get-together at the beach shortly, and I would love to hear about any recipes or ideas on snacks/ light meals that are best for a beach environment. The foods don't necessarily have to be easy to make - I just want yummy food!
Also, what kinds of containers should I pack these snacks/meals in? How do I keep the food fresh in such hot weather?
Answer: Hard Bars & Bites - While there are some chewy baked snacks bars we happily chew on in air-conditioned environments, the crunchy ones are your best bet for outdoor eating. You should also avoid ones with coating (like peanut butter or chocolate), 'cuz those'll become sadly misshapen once the heat hits 'em.
Fresh Fruit - Go for firm, easy-to-eat fruits like pears and apples. Skip anything sticky, soft, or hard to handle, like melon, berries, oranges, and kiwi. The sticky stuff will leave you a mess, the softies could easily be smooshed in your beach bag, and the tough-to-peel stuff will leave you more likely to reach for a cookie than pick a fight with your fruit.
Sadly, tuna salad and turkey slices won't last long outside the cool comfort of your fridge. Stock up on low-cal dehydrated protein-y snacks, like soy jerky, turkey jerky, and beef jerky.
As for how you should pack them, if you are bringing Turkey Slices or Tuna salad, I'd just bring a cooler, put some ice in, stack waterbottles , pop cans etc ontop of the ice and just lay the the container of Salad above the waterbottles so that they can keep cool without getting wet. The downfall is that when the ice melts, the container might get wet but the food should be out of harms way.

Question: What kind of healthy snacks can i take to work? I have been diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pursuer and I am now on medication. Everything that I usually snack on at work I will have to stop eating. I know yogurt and granola is good, but dose anyone have any suggestion on some healthy snacks that I can take to work, that won’t affect my sugar or salt intake?
Answer: Many, many things.
I'll give you what i call the healthy list:
Apple / Apple Slices
Oranges
Mandarins
Yoghurt
Granola
Wholegrain Rice
Wholemeal Pasta (not to much)
Bananas (they're easy to squash, careful!)
Carrots (washed, the skin contains most of the goodness)
Fish Cakes (personal favourite)
Corn Fritters
Fruit Salad
and much more...
Make sure that when you cook foods you use light oil. Make sure you avoid chocolate or sweets. Try making a fruit salsa by cutting up different fruits of your choice then cutting it up into bite size pieces then put it in a tupperware container.
