Answer: There are some websites that are legit. Some sell fake steroids (legal steroids) that don't work, and others are just total rip offs, they take your money and you don't get anything. Question: Why is there so little information available on anabolic steroids? Now I neither advocate their use, nor have I ever taken them, nor do i plan on taking them, I'm just curious. There are no large scale studies of anabolic steroids, no long term studies, the information available on them never differentiates between oral or injected. It seems kind of odd to lump them together in a category with Methamphetamine, Cocaine, and Heroin when there is so little evidence on them. Answer: That's a very good question. One of the major reason why there is so little information, it's because Steroids work! And that's view as the devil eye. Not a lot of studies have been done, but more than enough. That's why, for example because you're talking about it, the Steroid called,Deca Durabolin is a miracle for AIDS patient. It's been prove to obviously first giving the patient a possibility to gain weight, 20 to30lbs in average depending on the patient, built blood cells, and giving them hope and a chance to live a lot longer (apparently 15 to 25 years longer) But because of whatever reason, this is pull of from the "legal medical" market. That's insane, there is no proof that anybody ever die from steroids, but now, people will die because we decide to removed it. You're right it's totally odd that steroids are in the same category of Cocaine, Heroin...etc. Especially when you know that the FDA, DEA vote against it! But this was ignore and the law was pass by people who don't have a clue. Steroids have been used in medicine since the 30's, in sport since the early 60's, the Russian coach during the early Olympic games made the mistake to inform the USA coach that his athlete were on Steroids, and we went back home and create a better Steroids ( I believe it was Dianabol) And them it began. So basically all that to say that, Steroids have been around us for about 100 years and so far so good if I may say. That's the problem. Of course like any drugs (from Vitamin C to Tylenol...etc) there is a possibility of side effects if used improperly or abused. But can they used safely? Yes. People are afraid of what they don't know, and when you have the media who embellish thing, and it's all because of money. That's right, what will sell better? I'm hoping to hear from anyone who has had a cat who has been on a low dose of steroids for life, or for a long period of time. Or to hear from a veterinarian who has had such an animal under his/her care for many years. In my cat's case, the dosage is 1.25mg per day. He is 8 years old and has now been taking the steroids at this dosage for 1 year. He will need to take them for the rest of his life. In the past he has had dosages of up to 17.5 mg a day for 4 months at a time. But now he is stable on the small maintenance dose of 1.25mg a day. But I am wondering what the long term effects might be. In your experience what have been the long term health risks to watch out for? Did it shorten your cat's life? Did your cat become obese?
