Question: What types of fish would be good in my pond? I kept Koi fish and would maybe do that again, but I was wondering what other types I could put outside. Are there types of fish that would get along with another type?
my pond is probably only about 4x3x1 feet. And I've heard koi grow really big, but mine were just a little bigger than goldfish. I didn't feed them, they found enough. Do I have to feed them? Do they really get as big as I have heard??
Answer: Yes if you feed Koi they will grow quite large. You can also put in comets, wakin, and simple fantails in a pond. I wouldn't go fancier than that though.
Question: What types of investments are most suitable for different types of retirement accounts? Does it make sense to hold different investment types - stock, mutual funds, treasury bonds, etc. - in different types of retirement accounts, when it comes to tax implications?
For example, would should one hold in a Roth IRA? In a traditional IRA? In a 401(k)?
Thanks!
I understand diversification. My question is different.
Once I decided how to diversify (income, value, growth, CDs, etc),
is there a specific way to distribute the investment between the different instruments (Roth, traditional, etc) so as to minimize the tax implications? For example, Roth IRAs gains are not taxed at distribution time. Traditional IRAs are taxed.
Answer: The others are right in that proper diversification, etc., are more important than where you put what in which retirement vehicle.
However, to answer your specific question...let's assume you are many years away from retirement and have a diversified portfolio of relatively conservative investments and relatively aggressive investments. The traditional IRA and the 401k are going to tax you on everything--principal and gains--at your regular income tax rate when you finally make withdrawals. Therefore, I might try to put my more conservative investments in those, if possible. The assumption is that the conservative investments will end up with smaller gains than the more aggressive investments, so there will be less gain to be taxed on.
With the Roth, on the other hand, your withdrawals will come out tax free--you've already paid tax on the principal, and the gains are NEVER taxed. Therefore, I would want my more aggressive investments, which are a decent bet to end up with larger gains, in the Roth to get the biggest bang for the buck, tax savings-wise.
I wouldn't worry too much about adhering to this, though. Just make sure you're doing the other stuff right.

Question: What types of bonding are in unknowns that don't have a current in their pure form but did mixed with water? What types of bonding are likely be involved in the unknowns that were not conductors in their pure form but conducted a current when they were mixed with water? Explain what free-moving charged particles are available in these types of bonds.
Answer: sounds like ionic compounds
they don't conduct electricity in their solid forms because there are no free electrons
when they dissolve, they dissociate in the water so you have charged particles floating around to conduct electricity
Question: What types of companies use games as a way to train in new employees? Question: What types of questions are on the wrtten psychological exam? This is for people that have taken the written psychological exam. Can you give me an example of the types of questions they may ask? Is it muliple choice, do they use the strongly agree, agree, disagree, strongley disagree type answers to choose from? Please help.
Answer: You didn't say, so I'll assume you're talking about the written psychological exam for some kind of law enforcement position.
In that case, the type of test that's administered is more than likely left entirely up to the practioner. It might be one or the other that you're asking about, or it might have a combination of types of questions.
As for examples of the questions, I'll leave that to someone else. Just been too long since I've had to worry about it.
Question: What types of cheese are best to make grilled cheese sandwiches? What types of cheese are best to make grilled cheese sandwiches?
I am open for ideas that are common or gourmet types of sandwiches fillings.
Answer: The Polynesian resort at Disney World makes a grilled cheese sandwich that they call the "grown-up grilled cheese" that has Cheddar, swiss, and blue cheese. It is fantastic. They actually use sunflower seed bread as well for another twist. As long as you don't use too much blue cheese, which would overwhelm the other cheeses, this combination is delicious.
Question: What types of Yoga would be good for soccer? What types of Yoga would be good for soccer? I know there are different types but am not entirely sure which to try that would best suited for physical fitness for soccer performance. Thanks in advance.
Answer: I would think you'd want a yoga style that contributes to your stamina/endurance.
If that sounds correct, look for instruction that bills itself as either Power yoga, Ashtanga yoga, or at minimum, Vinyasa yoga.
If your gym/fitness center offers a yoga class, it's likely some sort of Power yoga.
Ashtanga yoga is a more regimented form of Power yoga. You may want to save trying that until you decide if you're really interested in yoga.
Your last choices would probably be styles such as Iyengar, Anusara, Restorative, Kundalini, plus others I'm leaving out.
Good luck,

Question: How many different types of plastic are there? Local Authorities are giving residents a hard time because they are putting "the wrong type of plastic" in the bins for re-cycling. How on earth are we supposed to know the difference beween all the different types of plastic there are in the world?
Does anyone have any idea just how many differrent types of plastic there are?
Answer: There are many types of plastic. Plastic must be sorted by type for recycling since each type melts at a different temperature and has different properties. The plastics industry has developed an identification system (or identification codes) to label the different types of plastic. The identification system divides plastic into seven distinct types and uses a number code generally found on the bottom of containers. The following table explains the seven code system:
Plastic No. 1
Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET, PETE)
Description:
Plastic No. 1 (PET, PETE) is clear, tough, and has good gas and moisture barrier properties and is resistance to heat.
Common Uses:
Plastic soft drink, water, sports drink, beer, mouthwash, catsup and salad dressing bottles, peanut butter, pickle, jelly and jam jars, prepared food trays and film that is used to cook frozen foods and roast.
Commonly used in soft drink bottles and many injection molded consumer product containers. Other applications include strapping and both food and non-food containers.
Recycled Products Include:
Fiber, tote bags, clothing, film and sheet, food and beverage containers, carpet, strapping, fleece wear, luggage and bottles.
Cleaned, recycled PET flakes and pellets are in great demand for spinning fiber for carpet yarns, producing fiberfill and geo-textiles.
Nickname...Polyester.
Plastic No. 2
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
Description:
HDPE has stiffness, strength, toughness, resistance to chemicals and moisture, permeability to gas, ease of processing, and ease of forming.
Common Uses:
Milk, water, juice, cosmetic, shampoo, dish and laundry detergent bottles; yogurt and margarine tubs; cereal box liners; grocery, trash and retail bags.
HDPE is used to make bottles for milk, juice, water and laundry products. Unpigmented bottles are translucent, have good barrier properties and stiffness, and are well suited to packaging products with a short shelf life such as milk. Because HDPE has good chemical resistance, it is used for packaging many household and industrial chemicals such as detergent and bleach. Pigmented HDPE bottles have better stress crack resistance than unpigmented HDPE bottles.
Recycled Products Include:
Liquid laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner and motor oil bottles; pipe, buckets, crates, flower pots, garden edging, film and sheet, recycling bins, benches, dog houses, plastic lumber, floor tiles, picnic tables, fencing.
Plastic No. 3
Vinyl (Polyvinyl Chloride or PVC)
Description:
Versatility, clarity, ease of blending, strength, toughness,
In addition to its stable physical properties,
PVC has excellent grease, oil and chemical resistance, performs well in all weather, flow characteristics and stable electrical properties.
The diverse slate of vinyl products can be broadly divided into rigid and flexible materials.
Common Uses:
Clear food and non-food packaging, salad dressing and liquid detergent containers, loose-leaf binders, medical tubing, wire and cable insulation, film and sheet, construction products such as plastic pipes, fittings, decking, paneling, gutters, mud flaps, siding, floor tiles, carpet backing and window frames..
Bottles and packaging sheet are major rigid markets, but it is also widely used in the construction market for such applications as pipes and fittings, siding, carpet backing and windows.
Flexible vinyl is used in wire and cable insulation, film and sheet, floor coverings synthetic leather products, coatings, blood bags, medical tubing and many other applications.
Recycled Products Include:
Packaging, film and sheet, floor tiles and mats, resilient flooring, cassette trays, electrical boxes, cables, traffic cones, garden hose, mobile home skirting.
Plastic No. 4
Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)
Description:
Used predominately in film applications due to its ease of processing, strength, toughness, flexibility, relative transparency, and ease of sealing, and its barrier to moisture, making it popular for use in applications where heat sealing is necessary.
Common Uses:
Dry cleaning bags, produce bags, trash can liners, bread and frozen food bags, food storage containers, squeezable bottles, e.g. honey, mustard
LDPE is also used to manufacture some flexible lids and bottles and it is used in wire and cable applications
Recycled Products Include:
Shipping envelopes, garbage can liners, floor tile, furniture, film and sheet, compost bins, paneling, trash cans, landscape timber, lumber
Plastic No. 5
Polypropylene (PP)
Description:
Polypropylene has strength, toughness, resistance to heat, chemicals, grease and oil, versatile, barrier to moisture and has a high melting point making it good for hot-fill liquids.
PP is found in flexible and rigid packaging to fibers and large molded parts for automotive and consumer products.
Common Uses:
Catsup bottles, yogurt containers and margarine tubs, medicine bottles, aerosol caps, drinking straws
Recycled Products Include:
Automobile battery cases, signal lights, battery cables, brooms, brushes, ice scrapers, oil funnels, bicycle racks, rakes, bins, pallets, sheeting, trays
Plastic No. 6
Polystyrene (PS)
Description:
Polystyrene is versatile, good insulation, clarity, and an easily formed plastic that can be rigid or foamed.
General purpose polystyrene is clear, hard and brittle. It has a relatively low melting point.
Common Uses:
Compact disc jackets, food service applications, grocery store meat trays, egg cartons, aspirin bottles, packaging pellets or Styrofoam peanuts, plastic tableware...cups, cutlery, plates meat trays, to-go "clam shell" containers
Other applications include protective packaging, containers, lids, cups, bottles and trays.
Recycled Products Include:
Thermometers, light switch plates, thermal insulation, egg cartons, vents, desk trays, rulers, license plate frames, foam packing, foam plates, cups, utensils
Plastic No. 7
Other Plastics
Description:
Use of this code indicates that the package in question is made with a resin other than the six listed above, or is made of more than one resin listed above, and used in a multi-layer combination.
Common Uses:
Three and five gallon reusable water bottles, some citrus juice and catsup bottles
Certain kinds of food containers and Tupperware.
Recycled Products Include:
Bottles, plastic lumber applications
Question: What types of businesses could use scheduling software? My friends and I are creating scheduling software. I was wondering what types of businesses could use this. Basically, customers will be able to go online and book reservations, appointments, etc. We will modify the software to each type of business as this would be necessary. Any other ideas & thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Answer: Congrats and much luck! There are a number of business I can think of that could use your software: hair salons, spas, hotels, dentists and doctors offices, car service places (like Jiffy Lube), golf clubs and pretty much anywhere that you have to make an appointment.
So many of these places now offer the option of online booking which clients love. You may want to focus on smaller business to start off since many larger ones already have like software implemented--but then again, if your software is better than what is currently used, go after the bigger companies too!
Question: What types of lawyers do good for other people in all their cases? I want to influence my own brand of justice and help society for the greater good, but I don't want to help bad people. What types of lawyers help people by doing good in their job?
Types I've thought of for example are:
lawyers that go after people who scam the elderly
lawyers who go after child molesters
etc.
Is there a term for this category of lawyers?
Answer: Unfortunately, there is no such lawyer...going after people who scam the elderly means a litigation atty...you will eventually always find yourself on the wrong side of an issue as a litigation atty.
Lawyers who go after child molesters are prosecutors..a prosecutor has to make some tough decisions too...often times, you are stuck prosecuting a case you don't believe in because your boss tells you to...
Perhaps the only way you can always be on the positive side is to be an adoption attorney.
