Weight Watcher
Question: weight watcher? I wanted to ask some people who are on/were on...weight watchers.....How many pounds did you lose the first week....is it wrong if you don' t use all of your target points.....can you still eat anything as long as you stay in your target points.....
Answer: It's best to use up as many of your target points as possible so that you don't slow your metabolism down... you can eat anything you want as long as it is in moderation and you have a higher ratio of healthy foods.. I lost about 7 pounds the first week I was on, but I was eating really healthy compared to what I had been eating before.
Question: Weight watcher? I am at 200# 5'10" and want to know if anyone can tell me how many points i would get with weight watchers
T
Answer: Here is the new way to tell about how many points you receive daily:
1. Are you:
male-8
female-2
2. Age:
17-26 - 4pts
27-37 - 3pts
38-47 - 2pts
48-58 - 1pts
over 58 - 0pts
3. What do you weigh?
Enter the first two digits of your weight in pounds

over 5'10 - 2pts
5. Do you spend most of day:
sitting=0
mostly standing=2
walking most of time=4
doing physically hard work most of time=6
now add up score and that is your total # of daily points allowed. The min # of points you are allowed is 18 and the max is 44.

Question: What are some weight watcher tips for losing weight? I have heard this is the best way to lose weight but just want some of the weight watcher tips. Thanks
Answer: Hi, I lost 85 pounds on Weight Watchers (six years ago) and you're right, it is a great diet. Their tips are the same as all weight loss programs. What makes their diet so successful is the support system they offer and the fact that you learn to eat REAL food in proper amounts. If you go to easy-weightloss-tips (you know what to put in front and behind it), you'll see a tab called "Weight Loss Tips." There are about 5-6 pages of tips that are very helpful. (My link is blocked today because I used it too much, so I can't put it below to help you get there...sorry.)
Question: How do you figure how much Weight Watcher points you can consume based on weight? I am 280 lbs. I eat Weight Watcher dinners that you can get in the grocery stores. I have seen formulas and calculators to figure out how many points are in foods, but how many points can a person consume? All I have found online is that a person gets 35 extra points to use in a week, and that the less you weigh, the less points you can consume.
Answer: It all depends on a lot of things, such as age, the job you do, your weight, male or female, etc. Find someone that follows weight watchers and they will be able to calculate for you. If not tell me all that info and I will find out for you. Good luck! Trust me it works! Ive lost 2 stone on this diet!
Question: Does anyone have the recipe for Weight Watcher's Oatmeal Peanut Butter Bars? I am looking for an old recipe. I believe it was found in an old Weight Watcher's guide. It was for breakfast bars that you froze. They were made of Chocolate (Instant Breakfast), Peanut Butter, Oatmeal and Raisins.
Answer: If you're like me and love the Snickers bar, then you have to try this great candy bar recipe that will allow you to make your own Snickers at home (only better!).

Question: How can I calculate Weight Watcher exercise points based on heart monitor information? I would like to accurately monitor my Weight WAtcher activity points using my heart rate monitor. I use the exercise guide available to me but I'd like to be more accurate. Any ideas?
Answer: There are several possible ways. One is to subtract your age from 220, and that would give you your maximum rate. Also some use your weight as a guide line for target, and maximum rates within 50% and 80%, Another would be how long it takes you to return to your basic rate after an exercise. This would improve as you get more fit. The source I used gives a good description of several ranges. Other sites are afraid and say you need to ask your doctor. This would at least hopefully rule out reason not to exercise or stress your heart. One should be that you can still carry on a conversation so you're not so short of breath. Raising a sweat 3 times a week is another suggestion. Know your BMR or basic metabolic rate chart to see your health risks associated with weight. Good luck.

Question: Does anyone know the weight watcher recipe for a "snicker bar"? I got this recipe at a State College, PA weight watcher meeting in about 1989. It is driving me crazy that I can not remember it.
I do remember some of the ingredients: chunky peanut butter, oatmeal, alba chocolate shake mix, and brewed black coffee.
I remember that you made logs and put it in the freezer and that is was very tasty.
I can not remember the measurements and if there were anymore ingredients. If anyone has the recipe and point value, I would very much appreciate it!!

Question: Approximately How Many Calories Are In a Weight Watcher Point? i know WW Isn't factored exactly into calories, its more about fat isn't it? But a rough estimate or Approximately How Many Calories Are In a Weight Watcher Point?
Answer: http://www.thefactsaboutfitness.com/research/diet.htm
They give the formula:
One point = (calories/50) + (fat grams/12) - (min{r, 4}/5)
r is the number of g of fibers.
So if you eat pure pasta or oats (100% carbs), 1 point is about 50 calories. 50/50 + 0/12 - 0/5 = 1.
If you eat oil (100% fat, 9 cals/g), 3.8g of fat would give 34.2 cals, and this would give 1 point. 34.2/50 + 9/12 - 0/5 = 1.
So 100% carb is 50 cals and 100% fat is 34 cals.
You can deduce what is in between.
Now fibers up to 4 grams will remove some points.
If something has 4 grams of fibers and 0g of fat, you would have:
90 cals = 1 point
90/50 + 0/12 - 4/5 = 1.
I put the formula in a spreadsheet and experimented.
Question: How many weight watcher's points can I have a day? I'm 5'3 and weigh 170 lbs and i'm doing the weight watcher's "Smart Ones". I can't financially afford to be a member of weight watchers but was wondering how many points I am allowed to have a day?
Answer: based on the old weight watchers (about 3 years ago)
you'd get around 23 points a day, depending on your age.
if you're under 16 and female then you get 25 for an extra serving of dairy a day.
i'm not sure if it's changed though
Question: How many weight watcher flex plan points can I eat based on this height and weight? HI. :) I'm 5'7 and 132 lbs. How many points a day can I eat on the weight watcher diet? I want to weigh 125 lbs. I thought it was 20 points, but I'm not sure???
Thanks,
Lisa
Answer: Heres how to find your daily points allowance:
Considering you are inquiring about how many points allowed per day, I am assuming you plan to follow the "Flex Plan" (there are two options- Flex and Core).
To find your daily points allowance, give yourself the number of points listed next to the option that fits your situation best:
Your sex:
If you are female- score 2 points
If you are male- score 8
If you are nursing- score 12
Your age:
17 to 26- score 4
27 to 37- score 3
38 to 47- score 2
48 to 58- score 1
Over 58- score 0
Your current weight:
Enter the first 2 digits of your weight in pounds. If you are 175 lbs for example, you would enter "17".
Your height:
under 5'1"- score 0
5'1" to 5'10"- score 1
Over 5'10"- score 2
Your activity level on most days of the week, how do you spend your day?:
sitting down- score 0
occassionally sitting, but mostly standing- score 2
walking most of the time- score 4
doing physically hard work most of the time- score 6
Add up all your scored points- that is your daily points target.
As you celebrate your birthday, increase your daily activity, or as you lose weight, you will need to keep retaking this quiz to most accurately figure your points allowance.
Keep in mind that people who attend Weight Watchers meetings lose 3x more than those who go at it alone. To find a meeting location near you or to find out the current price promotions for membership, please look at their website:

Question: How many weight watcher points would chicken pad thai be? I just joined weight watchers and I eat chicken pad thai quite often. There is no nutrition information on this. How do I figure out how many points it is?
Answer: If there is no nutrition info on this dish, then you need to know exactly what is in it to figure it out. If you eat a certain amount like say 1 cup of it, then you need to know how much of each ingredient is in that 1 cup. For example if there is 1 oz chicken, and so much of each other ingredient, figure out the points value of each ingredient in that 1 cup and then add each one together, then you will have the points value of that dish. You just need to make sure that you do this no matter how much of it you eat. If you eat it at a restraunt, then ask them for a nutrition list that will tell you how much calories, fat and so on is in the food you are eating. Just remember, you need to figure it out by the calories, fat and fiber in the food. The more fiber in the food, and less fat, generally the fewer points.
