I bought some Whey Protein.
It says "each serving (25g)
17.62 g of protein"
and o load of other stuff such as calcium and stuff.
Is a serving one full scoop full of Whey protein? How many scoops a day should you have for bulking up, but keeping a low body fat?
Answer: 8oz glass of milk, one scoop of whey protein right after a work out. dont wait more then thirty minutes.
Question: whey Protein? I am 5t 9" and I weigh 158 lbs. I started to work out 2 months ago and my goal is not to get bulky but to get somewhat an atheletic build. Do i need to take whey protein or any supplement to help my progress?
Answer: It would help, yes. Most whey proteins available today contain many vitamins, minerals and aminos along with a fat free form of protein. A good powder supplement will also have no sugar in it.
If you're not aiming to build a lot of muscle, you won't need a lot of protein powder as if you were a bodybuilder or powerlifter. An active person, especially someone involved in sports, would benifit from a good whey protein supplement.
Keep in mind that supplements are just that. They aren't intended as meal replacements so be sure you're getting a healthy diet with whole foods.
Question: How to get Whey protein to completely mix and how to get rid of the after taste? My whey protein isolate doesn't completely mix with the milk I put it in. There is always a fat layer of powder floating on the top. My whey protein concentrate mixed perfectly but the isolate seems to have some problems. Is it just because of the concentration?
Also, is there anything to drink or eat to get rid of the after taste of the whey?

Answer: Yuck! I hate when that happens, trying to choke down your whey shake. Sometimes the fillers or additives will leave a nasty after taste, as well as not mix smoothly. Try a chemical free whey without all the fillers and garbage
Question: What's the difference between whey protein and dymatized whey protein? I work out a lot, therefore I drink a lot of protein shakes and consume protein like crazy. Can someone please tell me what the significant differences are between regular/basic whey protein and dymatized elite protein? Question: What is the difference in whey protein and calories in gaining muscle? i know that protein is needed in gaining muscle.. but i have also heard that you need more calories than you need to gain weight in order to gain muscle...
and i know that rice is carbohydrates ..
now my question is do you need more than enough calories in order for the whey protein to work to gain more muscle??
like if you don't have enough calories.. but have enough whey protein, will you gain muscle..?? and vice versa?
Answer: Some background first:
Your body uses calories for everything that it does all day long, including calories that come from protein. Protein is essential to a number of things, not just building muscles. SO, if you get enough protein, but not enough calories, your body is going to use that protein first to perform normal body functions and if you didn't get enough carbs it's going to turn some of that protein into carbs which means it's being taken away from muscle building. If it still has any protein leftover it will use that build muscle but you won't build as much.
If you DO eat enough calories for muscle building it will use all the other calories for bodily functions and will then have the whey protein calories leftover to build muscle.
So getting your protein but not getting calories will just result in much LESS muscle building, but it will probably still occur.
If you get the calories but not the protein your body will use those calories to store weight but as FAT.

Answer: The best way to gain muscle mass is by heavy weight, low reps, and increasing your protein intake. I wouldn't suggest taking any other supplements at your age, besides whey protein (and maybe a casein protein before bed). Supplements like Creatine won't give you permanent gains, and can be bad for your health in the long run if you really don't know what youre doing.
i'd suggest either Gold Standard Whey (It's a lean protein, good for putting on lean, dense muscle.. also has the best taste out of any protein i've taken.), or Nitro-Tech

Answer: Try adding "calorie burning" activities to your daily routine. Simple ones might not need that much extra time but if you then keep at it they will add up.
Maybe when you get home,,. instead of walking in just go round the block once. Or take the stairs instead of that elevator. Once a week, skip dinner but have a piece of celery instead. Whatever you do, stick to it, then when it has become routine, add more.
Question: How long can Whey protein powder be used after official expiry date? Hi guys, I had got some whey protein a while back and it expired this year in March. A few mates of mine say that it usually lasts more than the printed expiry.
Do you think it would still be ok to have those proteins till the end of this year?
Answer: You have to be careful with stuff like that. Whey protein is technically a dairy product - a byproduct of the cheese making process. While some powders just lose their potency over time, whey protein may actually go "bad". Honestly, since you can get high quality protein much cheaper by ordering it in bulk on the internet, you might as well not take the chance and get some fresh stuff.

Question: How come after i started drinking whey protein my muscles don't ache the day after i work out? How quickly does whey protein "heal" the muscles? Usually when i worked out, my muscles ached the morning after and thats when i know i had a good workout. But now that i started drinking whey protein after i work out, i wake up the next morning and no muscle aches. Is this the protein or am i just not working out good enough anymore?
Answer: Because after you started taking protein you had already started working out and already started improving. Protein isnt an anabolic steriod, it doesnt speed up recovery. It helps build muscle. If anything you eat help speed up recovery it is carbs, and that is from the glycogen and from giving you calories to burn.

Answer: You must consume between 0.8 - 1.2grammes per Kg (2.2Pounds) that you weigh, per day
Example: at 0.8 grammes/at your weight, = 69 Grammes per day

Some of them specify they can be taken with either milk or water while some only state water should be used. Is there any advantages or disadvantages to taking whey powder with milk? Answer: Using milk would add calcium and vitamins. The catch is it would add fat. Some might prefer the taste.
Using water makes it lower calorie.

Answer: As long as it is sealed and has been away from heat and moisture you should be fine. I have a brand that I have used for the last 2 years from http://www.bulkprotein.com and I kept it in a cool place and it was 2 months expired and it was fine.

Answer: 2 months is nothing...the protein is fine. It should be good for at least a year. The only thing that would change may be the taste and even then it's highly unlikely.
