Whole-food Vitamins
Question: Proper way to mix pure whole food vitamins with orange juice? My Mother has a hard time swallowing pills, so I tried this..Yesterday and today, I liquified in a blender= 8 oz of orange juice in with her natural vitamins (she previously took them okay by mouth with no problems): 2-multiple vitamins, 3-cranberry extract, 1-blueberry extract, 1-zinc, 1-iodine, 1-pomegranite extract, and 1-Cerefolin vitamin. After 30 minutes she threw up. Does she need to drink it slower. She drank it all in 10 minutes. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Answer: I'm glad I can answer your question! The reason your mother might be throwing up is because there's too much iron and zinc in this combination, these are minerals that -when taken as whole units and consumed suddenly- will have a reaction like nausea. Try making three different juices - one for each meal of the day. I would suggest combining a multi vitamin, zinc and cranberry in her morning juice, blueberry and iodine in her afternoon juice, and cerefolin and cranberry in her evening juice.
If you decide to try this and she still throws up after the first vitamin juice, I would not give her the second or third juices. Instead, go back to the regular pill. It might mean that your mother's digestive system is sensitive to the mixture the vitamins and minerals, which is also quite common.
The best suggestion I can give you is instead of so many pills, purchase the juices and foods in which these vitamins and minerals can be found. Cranberry and pomegranate juice are easy to find and so are blueberries. Zinc is found all dairy products, chicken, fish, and seafood. Greens, like brussels sprouts, broccoli, and cabbage are high in iodine. If you change her diet to incorporate these foods, I would still suggest taking a multi-vitamin but only one a day is truly necessary. The reason I say this is because it can be extremely dangerous and sometimes fatal to over-do your vitamins, especially if you're taking perscription medicine.
I hope this has helped.
Question: Please tell me what the difference between whole food supplements and vitamins are? i'm asking again because i only got one answer before and i want more feedback
Answer: Whole food vitamins are recognized and absorbed by your body as food, there are also many additional components naturally in whole food. Synthetic vitamins are nothing like a whole food.
As an example-
Most vitamin C found in stores is Ascorbic Acid.
The vitamin C that you get from Ascorbic acid is nothing like what you get when you eat an orange.
We are supposed to get our nutrients from food for a reason.
No amount of synthetic vitamins will help when you have a terrible diet (not to say that you do).
Whole food vitamins, are still not a replacement for healthy foods, but do a much better job overall than the synthetic vitamins.
2 good sites are-
www.megafood.com
newchapter.info
New Chapters website has videos explaining their processes, and why whole food vitamins in general are considered better.
Question: Whole food vitamins for children...which is the best? I currently use Natures Plus Animal Parade for my 2 and 5 year olds. Is there a better one for kids that is chewable/gummie and whole food?
Answer: Your question title grabbed my attention - While supplementing with vitamins is probably okay, it's not going to help your kids develop healthy habits. This is more important.
I have stopped using "vitamins", and started using "whole foods". My daughter loves fruits and veggies. If you give your children foods with high-fructose corn syrup, their chances of getting diabetes is greatly increased.
Teach them to love fruits and veggies. Eat unprocessed foods as much as possible.
I use wholefood farmacy, and my daughter loves it, especially TropiPhi, Fruitalicious, and BuckyBall Matrix. These products are raw, organic, and vegan. You can go to www.wholepurefood.com and watch the videos. It will change your perspective on feeding your children.
More children are obese, getting diabetes, and having behavioral problems than ever before, and it's mostly diet related.
Gummi vitamins are a band-aid. Your kids will just learn to eat candy from getting those. I stopped using them years ago.
My daughter even drinks Kombucha tea now. Kids will eat what you give them. It's not too late to start giving them healthy foods, and they will thank you for it later, as well as now, because they taste a lot better than processed, toxic food.
Sorry if this is not the answer you wanted, but I could not help but notice your question and felt a need to suggest that you educate yourself on healthy eating...for real.
Children count on us to teach them healthy habits, and many parents are failing to do this...with the best of intentions, but still failing...at the ages your children are, you have every opportunity, especially with your two year old...to give them healthy habits for life.
Question: WHAT ARE WHOLE FOOD VITAMINS? I used to take Centrum performance in the morning and a chewable vitamin C at night and a lot of people tell me including my mom who is a nurse tells me the only vitamins I should take is whole food vitamins because the other crap can be toxic in the long run and only get about less than half of what it says on the bottle because you urinate a lot out but she said vitamin C chewable is fine. So basically what are whole food vitamins and how are they different from multivitamins such as Centrum? Are they synthetic and isolate free? Is there a whole food vitamin C? What are they best brands? Can I find in stores such as wal-mart? Do you urinate a lot of the whole food vitamins as well? Please someone who is knowledgeable on this subject answer. Thanks.
I somewhat disagree with alt.healer because there are tons of articles and a few doctors I know who said synthetic vitamins is a waste of money and stick with whole vitamins
Answer: Bread,
Cum,
Orange Juice,
Donunts,

Question: Has anyone tried whole food vitamins? If so, do they really work?
Answer: they are not very good as they do not release the vitamins evenly and distribute them to where the body needs them. The best vitamins, according to an independant study, are the shapeworks ones. They are designed to target where the vitamins are required and breakdown quickly so you can get the maximum benefit from them. I have used them for quite a while after reading about them and they are great. I have had way fewer colds/flu and illnes etc since I started using them. Try www.myhealthabcmall.com, the range of vitamins and supplements they have is amazing. There is also an email link so you can ask the nutritional coach what is best for you before you choose anything, you can advice about other stuff too for free. I hope this helps.
Question: Can anyone recommend a whole food multi-vitamin? I'm interested in a whole food vitamins, meaning that the vitamins are not synthetic and they are made from whole, organic foods.
Thanks in advance!
Answer: I use and recommend Vita-Lea multi-vitamin. They have the best disintegration time (Howard University Pharmaceutical Dept), conduct outside clinical trials to prove absorption and effectiveness, balanced nutrients work together, highest standards for ingredient quality, purity, and efficacy, what's on the label is in the bottle, products developed for scientific reasons, not "fads", 50 years of quality and integrity, and 100% money back guarantee.
Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.
Question: How beneficial is eating healthy/organic? (including whole food bars, vitamins)? If I eat ALL organic, no dairy ( or very little; I have asthma), exercizing, drinking lots of water, and also taking whole food supplement bars and vitamins, will this make a strong impact on my health?
If I keep the healthy stuff up, like the green tea thing, get my antioxidants, flavonoids, among other things up, and just be VERY careful with what I eat,
will this change my usual grumpy, stressed out, and always coming down with a sickness and taking FOREVER to beat it , never feeling at 100% self, asthmatic, anxious depressive self,
to a much healthier person?
Also, if I ever indulge or screw up in my health-diet, and eat ice cream or fast food or overeat,
does that ruin it all, or is it still okay?
I need some major diet advice, and if anyone can explain if its really serious or not to make sure that EVERY thing we put in our bodies is 100% healthy.
I mean some say, life is short, eat whatever, moderation.
Others are Nazi about it.
Any advice?
Answer: Yes, you will be sooo much healthier. You feel so much more energized and just, well, amazing when you eat healthy. I was also "asthmatic, anxious depressive self" before I started eating healthy. Now, I feel so much better. I don't know if you're talking about switching to a vegan, vegetarian, or just a healthier diet but yes, you do feel a major difference. I'm currently trying to go from vegetarian to vegan. It's hard but it's worth it. And if you do "mess up" and eat junk food then don't feel bed. As long as you don't make it a habbit it's OK. Actually, you'll be able to feel the effects of that kind of food on your body after eating a healthy diet for a while. About a week ago I went to a gathering and ate a ton of greasy, fried foods. I felt so sick for a couple days after that. I would suggest switching to a vegan or vegetarian diet for a couple weeks just so see how it feels. Trying to eat healthier is a great goal but if you still eat some dairy products and some meat, you still get all the chemicals, pesticides, hormones, and anibiotics in those foods. I really hope I've helped.
Question: Does anybody know of a organic whole food vitamin for infants? My daughter just turned 1 year.
Answer: there are a couple of brands, check and see what is available at your local health food store. They usually have a section just for children's supplements
Question: Will taking vitamins or whole food supplements really benefit you or is it just a wait of money?
Answer: No it's not a waste of money. Your body needs vitamins to help build your immune system to help fight off diseases, colds, etc.... We normally get all we need from the healthy foods we eat, but nowadays what we eat isn't always good for us and doesn't have all the vitamins and minerals we need so thats why we have to take a multi vitamin. It keeps us healthy.
Question: Will taking vitamins or whole food supplements really benefit you or is it just a waste of money?
Answer: usually a waste of money

Question: How many Vitamins should I take in the morning, afternoon, night? Im 16 male and I wanted to know how many vitamins I should take. I only take whole food vitamins. So what kind should I take and how many.
Answer: Please don't over-take vitamins, you can really overdose it can do a lot of harm rather than good. Why are you taking vitamins? Try to get most of them through just eating a balanced diet consisting of lean protein (like chicken, beef, fish), vegetables, whole grains and dairy. If you are taking vitamin then stay with a one a day one, like Centrum. I would also ask the doctor as to how much vitamins if any you might need.

Question: Is it okay to take natural vitamins/herbals for health conditions? especially for asthma? There are many drugs on the market which "boost" the immune system, however, asthma itself you take drugs which lower the immune system a tad bit,....so I'm not sure if that would cancel the effects of the prescription drugs.
And I don't mean serious conditions but if you want to lower your cholesterol, treat asthma to a degree, be in better overall health, like take Immune System improvement drugs, whole foods, whole food vitamins and the such,?

Question: Where can I find a 100% Whole Foods Multivitamin??? I'm looking for a multivitamin that is made from 100% whole foods only. I've gone all over the place, and even the vitamins that claim "natural" and "whole foods" contain synthetic and isolated vitamins. Is there a multi out there that is 100% whole food concentrate with no isolated vitamins or synthetics?
Thanks, but I'm NOT looking for the "Whole Foods Market"...I'm looking for REAL multivitamins that contain REAL food, not isolated or synthetic forms of vitamins.
Answer: Whole Foods Natural Food Store
