Workout Program
Question: Workout program????????????? What workout program can i use that will make me street fight ready,i do only push ups and weight lifts but i need an real workout program.
Nos looking for a program that makes you look big, I'm looking for an program to improve my punching power and speed.
Answer: you ought to think about trying what's called supersetting or Interval Training...which is periods of high intensity work followed by periods of rest or low intensity work. combines both a strength component(for lean tissue building) and a cardiovascular component(for fat burning).
this type of training causes an effect known as EPOC...Excess Post(exercise) Oxygen Consumption. the EPOC phenomenon causes an increased rate of oxygen intake, an elevated consumption of fat for fuel and increases your metabolism up to 48 hours AFTER you exercise! burning fat while you rest!
Not only does this type of training torch bodyfat, it also saves you time. no more splitting up your days...1 day cardio, 1 day weights...more time for family, friends, work, sports. you also don't need an fancy or expensive equipment to complete these workouts. most of them you can do at home. example:
squats
push-ups
pull-ups
planks
do each exercise for a set # of reps or time back to back without rest in-between. that equals 1 set. rest 30-60 sec then repeat whole sequence. do 3-5 complete sets. you can plug in more exercises(I do one where I pick 10 exercises and do 1 min of each) or mix in different exercises. train this way 3x/week and you will definitely see some results.

Question: What is the best workout program for somebody looking to become a professional wrestler? I am graduating from high school in about a month and I am going to college on a full scholarship. So if wrestling doesn't work I have something to fall back on. I have decided to save my money to go to wrestling school. However, I am only about 5 foot 10 and weigh 160 pounds and I don't have a lot of muscle. Can anybody tell me the best workout program for somebody like me looking to become a pro wrestler?
Thanks
Answer: Try Tae Bo. It really works all your msucles! It's a good start! I used to do that!
Question: What is the hardest workout program you can suggest (without going to the gym more than once a week) ? I need something effective and on the insane side of challenging. I don't have access to any weird or special equipment (yoga balls, climbing ropes or gear, parachutes, etc...), so that stuff is out of the question. I need a workout program that will incorporate as many elements of physical fitness as possible (strength, endurance, speed, pain tolerance, stretching, nutrition, and long lasting fitnes). Your suggestions are appreciated.
Answer: You should seriously consider Pilates. Pilates is a totaly body fitness system developed by Joseph Pilates decades ago. The system focuses on complete strength using your own body as resistence as well as flexibility and health.
Pilates has enjoyed a resurging popularity recently as dancers and other performers have found it to be effective and fast. Once it took hold it found it's way into classes in gyms all over the world.
There are devices used in some pilates classes but none of these are necessary. If you pick up some literature on the exercises taught by the creator and do them faithfully every day you will not even recognize your body in 3 months.
Question: What is the best online resource for building your own workout program? I'm a 31 year old 6'2 foot tall guy, and am about 215lbs. I play hockey about twice a week, but that's pretty much the extent of my physical activities that I can relly on for a good workout.
Can anyone suggest a good place on the internet that gives free information on what kind of workout one should start out with?
If at all possible, I'd like to drop a good 10-15 lbs as well as start adding a little more muscle.
I'm looking forward to doing the work and setting up a program - I just don't know how to start just yet.
Thanks for your help!!! :)
Guys, thanks so much for your ideas so far. Just to note though - I have no interest in supplements. I'd like to do this the old fashioned way (even if it takes longer) with just a better diet and exercise.
Thanks so much! :)
Answer: http://bodybuilding.com/fun/index.html
That web site will answer ALL of your questions. And it's FREE.
I also do NOT take supplements. Eat healthy and exercise. It really is THAT simple. Go to the site that me and the guy above me posted. They have great routines and they are not all muscleheads. Very friendly bunch of people with GREAT advice and exercise plans. There's even a Teen section and Woman's section.
Good Luck!
:)
Question: Can someone help me start a free weight workout program? I'm 18, and really lanky. I'm 5'6 and trying to start a workout program with free weights and my own body weight in my very own house. What kind of schedule should I follow and what days and which muscles should I workout together and should I take creatine and protein supplements at all? I'd appreciate if someone could help me out bc I'm tired of being scrawny.
Answer: mon- shoulders, neck, and abs
tue- arms
wed- legs, abs

Question: What is a good in season baseball workout program? I play for a 8th grade and sometimes freshman baseball team at my school. I am looking for a good workout program that will help me build endurance, speed, and strength. Please let me know of any schedules you prefer or use. Also give me any tips to get better at baseball, any websites you have or your own knowledge that you have. Thank you
Answer: Sparq has a really good workout program. Check out this DVD. Jimmy Rollins goes through all kinds of good strength and conditioning drills. All of these are Ok during the season as long as you're not overworking your throwing arm. This workout will also help you stay away from static weight-lifting. Weight-lifting isn't bad during the baseball season, but it's diffucult to design a program that doesn't overwork muscles that are already overworked (especially shoulders).
Question: Do you normally gain weight and inches when you start a rigerous workout program? I started a workout everyday for 40-60 mins for the next 6 weeks. I really like the program and I feel like I am getting tighter, but when I step on the scale the number increases, and my clothes seem to fit tighter. Is this normal? If I keep doing the program will it eventually go in the other direction. It is so discouraging!!
I understand the whole fat to muscle and that weighing more, but will it reverse? I could stand to lose some pounds even though there is muscle involved.
Answer: Fat does not turn into muscle. If you're just starting out, its very unlikely that you have added enough muscle mass to affect the scale. That takes time. Months, not days or weeks.
You haven't defined "workout". Running? Swimming? Lifting? Prancing around to videos in your living room?
Most likely you've been eating more, perhaps in the belief that your exercise more than makes up for it.
Question: where to find a basketball workout program for a few months? I am looking for a common basketball workout program for a few months for beginners and advanced players . Please'll show where to find it or buy it.
Answer: u don't really needa buy anything... jus do it yourself... dribble up n down the court... then crossover, for shooting: u make a shot in every part of the floor (out to the 3-point line) n don't stop till u have.
Question: Do you think missing one day of the Insanity workout will affect the whole weight loss program? I'm on week 4 day 23 of the insanity workout program. Today will be the cardio power and resistance. I tried to play the dvd but for some reason the dvd wasn't working. Thankfully it would've been the last workout before recovery week. But will missing one day have an affect on the whole workout program.
Answer: .No, it won't cause great harm. In fact, if you've done the workout before then just substitute some other workout (either on DVD, youtube, or make up one) that has similar moves of similar intensity (in other words, that will basically accomplish the same thing as that workout was meant to).
You don't have to skip a day and do nothing just because the DVD won't play...so have a backup plan. Missing a day here and there won't crash your program, but it is designed to be followed as designed for best results.
Good luck! I just got a copy of that program also and am going to give it a go after I finish with this go-round of P90X (4 wks left to go of it).
Question: What would be a good workout program at home? im 14 and male and want to try and get a bit fitter , stronger and get a little bit of muscle. i was thinking like 15 push ups 15 sit ups a day or sumthing but im not sure. im kinda skinny and have average strength and speed but just wondering what kind of workout program would be good to keep fit and get stronger.
Answer: when i was in the army we average 300 push ups and 200 sit ups a day, not all at once, but in intervals, I am pretty sure 15 won't give much effects to building muscles. You have to condition your body, and slowly increase the push ups and sit ups you do daily.
Do your push ups and sit ups in intervals of 15 per interval, you can do 1 interval a day now, move on to do 2 intervals a day, and slowly move up to more intervals. I'm sure your muscles will be build up in no time.
No pain, no gain. But remember not to over work the muscles and do a lot of stretching.
Question: How do I stick to a workout program, where fitness, not weight loss is the goal? Hi. I'd like to start a workout program just to be a little stronger and have some muscle, but have tried before and can't stick to it.
The reason, I think, is that I'm slim. I don't have a certain dress or bikini to motivate me.
What are tricks I can use on myself to keep it up for good health?
Thanks!!
Answer: The first thing I think of is a workout partner. If somebody else is expecting you to work out with them, it makes it harder to flake out on your workout.
Also... try doing some classes... I find they are more fun and easier to talk myself into on days I don't feel like going. Most gyms will have a barbell class of some kind.
If you don't have a goal dress or bikini... make a different kind of goal. Track your progress and set some kind of goal... for instance doing 10 "boy" push-ups... or 100 crunches in 2 minutes... or 5 real over-hand pull-ups, etc. Something that you cannot currently do that is attainable for you in a matter of 6-8 weeks.
Make a promise to yourself for when you reach that goal. Buy a new piece of jewelry... get a pedicure... get a massage... eat out at your favorite restaurant, etc.
Hope this helps! Good luck
Question: How should I lose body fat? And a total body workout program? I am 6'1 and weigh 145lbs. I am trying to lose body fat. What is a good way to lose body fat? Another thing would be, is what is a good total body workout program? Thanks for your help.
Answer: You could try a diet called ketogenic diet which is known to be a very effective way to loose weight. On this kind of diet, you eat only food rich with proteins and fats, and low on carbohydrates. It may sound confusing how taking more fats will help you reduce your body fat, but by eating the types of food mentioned, the body enters a state called ketosis where your main source of energy becomes fat. That way, all the fat that you eat is used as an energy source, as well as your body's own fat. Many body builders use this kind of diet to considerably lower their body fat. If you are interested in this type of diet, check out the link mentioned as the source.
Hope that helped, cheers! :)

Question: How good is the 5x5 workout program? I read about this 5x5 program and wanted to know if anyone else has heard anything about it.
Its squats every other day and other body workouts with 5 sets at 5 reps. starting with just the bar and adding 5 pounds every workout. untile you get to 1.5x your body weight. it seems like a real easy program. but will it work well.
Answer: It works fairly well, HOWEVER be careful. This workout is rough on tendons, and you can get hurt if you don't pay attention to your body. Also, take a week off more often than normal, to allow everything to recover.
Question: What is the best workout program for the Wii? I know there are a lot of games for the wii that have good exercise programs but which is the best? I know about the Wii Fit but it doesn't really have a workout program. I know about My Fitness Coach but the exercises aren't very easy to follow. I have also heard about the Jillian Micheals 2009 fitness ultimatum and EA Sports Active but don't know much about them. any info would help.
Answer: i would get the EA one because it has more of a real workout than the others but i would also get the wiifit board because it works with the EA sports active game but you dont need the wii fit board to use it.
